  1. The transparency which I refer to is in reference to cancellations. For example, why cancel cruises after final payments when everyone knows what's coming down the pipe. Then, when cruise is cancelled, it became an unnecessary dilemma in which receiving a refund is a disaster and time consuming which could have been avoided by either pushing the final payment date (WHICH NCL DID) and not forcing passengers to make final payment which just manipulated all the financial settings to make it look as if RCG was not in trouble. Moreover, making statements to the fact that RCG is not looking into selling any ships, over and over again, when in fact RCG sold two ships and it was not done overnight. There were talks about these two particular ships on the selling block back in June. The CEO doesn't have to "show his hand" but under the current situation we are in, they should be upfront. NCL & Carnival have been upfront from day one. Neither CEO sugar-coated or side-stepped as RCG's CEO. These are just a couple of transparencies that should have been more clear and direct. Inasmuch, owning stock in RCG, and I don't mean a measly 100 shares which most here probably have, as a shareholder, we ALL are also entitled to somewhat of an insight and their portfolio seemed over-speculative at times. Don't get me wrong as this situation were are currently in really bulked up those investment wallets in many people including me but those who wait patiently and constantly cancelled and re-arrange their lives especially during this holiday season had to run around and make other arrangement.
  2. Let's just say this is the FIRST and hopefully the LAST time I missed cruising for the holidays. Been doing it since I was 14 years of age and find it odd to be home.
  3. Whoops!! Spoke too soon!! According to RCG's website, Empress & Majesty have disappeared!!
  4. You probably can. Just do it before they are gone but I don't see any mention of the date.
  5. I think it's all a ploy as he has to save face for so many statements that he's made during COVID and he has fallen flat. Rumor has it that he's been asked to step aside. I wonder if this is true, but in any event, I do believe we need someone in this position who is upfront and transparent with EVERYTHING with their loyal cruisers instead of "side-stepping" every single answer he gives.
  6. Do what I do. I play "Connect The Ships". Ships reposition all the time and it would take some work and time but you can most definitely put together something that takes you part or all the way around the world. You might need to use partner lines or non-partner lines but hec, it's so much fun!!! Best of all, you get to experience it all.
  7. I think this is confusing. If RCG told you "they are not changing final payments and there is currently no need to pay," then it is clear that there is no final payment date. You can make final payment when you want. Am I missing something?
  8. Seems as this might drag out longer than expected... https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2020/12/09/virgin-voyages-cruises-wont-launch-until-may-year-behind-schedule/6493611002/?fbclid=IwAR15Ce2sWoiqNCKyRX0J0UC23bFRV8wlMQ1ymXX7_S7g6B6q6BcDdBL5EFs
  9. I think by October you should be able to do your own exploration unless RCG just would want to keep it a bit longer in order to mandate and squeeze every bit of $ from their passengers.
  10. It'll bounce back. At year end, investors tend to sell and look forward to the so-called "The January Effect".
  11. And the pain continues ... RCG better not follow suit!! https://cruisefever.net/one-of-carnivals-cruise-lines-cancels-cruises-into-may/?fbclid=IwAR3wsFYkcb_la_SgE2Ir23t7nZGcLQ5M6sWZ6bxGMkL3fSOBIYM9ppwuTgk
  12. That's great news!! But one concern needs to be addressed and that is if this becomes the norm with many "false positives" how does RCG intend on handling this? Many cruisers will be upset and pissed and will demand refunds to some extent. RCG needs to find another testing method or else it's going to hit them where it hurts.
  13. Not fair for the cruise line who did the RIGHT thing. I would rather err on the side of caution.
  14. Would have happened w/o notice. ? You gotta backup a statement like that with hard facts or otherwise it's misinformation.
  15. Hope you have hard facts to back up this statement.
  16. I wonder if RCG would take this approach as they all tend to copy each other! There will be a lot of disappointments across the board if they do beginning with ME!! https://cruiseradio.net/carnival-cancels-select-sailings-into-fall-2021-delays-refurbs/?fbclid=IwAR2DyAwiUD2z4SWouBn5Mhxw1c0HeztQAJIS56tN1sIEqPqIohWz1WYCCeU
  17. Apparently, it didn't work since and neither does the protocols since the 83 year-old male Singaporean has had two follow-up tests in Singapore and both tests have come back negative. As a follow-up, NPHL will conduct another test tomorrow to confirm the 83 year-old male Singaporean's COVID-19 status. Rapid tests are notorious for false positives and thus the results are not 100% conclusive which leaves a lot to be desired. As such, anyone who goes on a cruise cannot be guaranteed, beyond a show of a doubt, that they will/will not be contaminated. It's a game of Russian Roulette.
