Wait-listed for MDR at 5:30, Mariner

I should have prefaced this by saying I did not mean to blame my TA, I think mistakes happen, and she was able to get me a Grand Suite at a really great price, but I will see what my concierge will come up with, I am flexible with my dinner times, just prefer to eat before 8 PM. Thank you for your comments. -
Hi guys! So I had thought my TA made my reservation of for this cruise at traditional dining large table at 5:30. I found out this morning I was made Anytime Dining at 8:15 PM! Not amused to say the least. Anyway called up RCCL this morning and I have been wait listed for 5:30 PM. Questions? What do you think my odds are at getting the 5:30 seating? Staying in a GS, would this be a request that the concierge could handle? Thanks guys! Mitch

Thank you for this my oldest son is a huge Trekkie! -
I am curious now, how much money does everyone think they make at the end of an average 7 day cruise? I know they work very hard for their money.

Besides extorting him for the 10 score? No seriously, be fair and honest, but here is my rule of thumb, if you were going to give an 8, and then they suggest in any way that makes you feel uncomfortable that they really want a higher score, give them a 7. If they are joking about wanting a high score give them the 8, allowing of course for cultural differences. My boys are dead serous jokesters, but I had to explain to them that there can be language barriers, and cultural differences, so keep the joking light.

Preferred seating in the lifeboats. Modeled after the airlines, wider more comfortable seating up front, maybe add a drink package option? Mitch -
Solarium access . . . For kids!!!???
CruiseMsclDad replied to Steph B's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I too for some reason have never been bothered in either the hot tubs or the pools, it must be my "sunny disposition" I agree with others, the little kids are fine, it is the collage age crowd that can be very disrespectful to some passengers, a good hard stare usually fixes that behavior, drunks though unfortunately require a more hands on approach On every cruise line I have been on, it is true cold weather cruises, they drop the age limit, not just RCCL. This is my hot tub smile! -
Just back from Indy - Any questions?

Hi Gym question, what is the sauna/steam room layout? Is it still separate for men and women? Thanks, Mitch -
Much appreciated! Sorry about the injury, they absolutely suck. It is always the airline seats that I have issues with, my son is a bodybuilder as well, as long as no one is in the middle seat we are fine, but it is awkward to fly with out arms tucked in and kinda scrunched up. On the other head we are both awesome at helping people throw their luggage in the over head bins Onboard yes the doorways! OMG and the showers, can never close the door so water gets everywhere! No complaints though, not intending to shrink anytime soon! Mitch

When I was 17 on a family cruise we drove to the port, I kid you not, I brought so many weights, they had me open up my footlocker! My dad was so embarrassed!

That is very cleaver! Unless you have boys that constantly are pulling out and putting in stuff But no I never thought of that !

Its easy buy some cheap Blink indoor/outdoor cameras, those should work, you might though have to pay for a separate device fee so It can always bee connected to your phone. -
Sailing into a hurricane
CruiseMsclDad replied to YoungFamilyExplorers's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Unfortunately we have a couple of times, when sailing out of Boston or NYC, been diverted up north, always ended up in St. Johns, New Brunswick. Nice enough town but you know, not Bermuda. Less on learned, we no longer sail from up North during hurricane season. When sailing down South, and have been diverted, it was fine either more sea days or a surprise port! So it was fine, part of the adventure! -
Agree 100% We use the magnet clips and hooks fro drying stuff. Mitch

Our family has always been Pro Band, clips, ehh, we tend to step on them or they sometimes loose their clip tightness, bands do stretch but not enough that they would ever fall off.

Do you guys lock your checked luggage? I mean with TSA approved locks. On other boards it seems there was a lot of negativity about locking your luggage? Just asking because I pack a ton, so just curious about the pros and cons? Thanks, Mitch.
