  1. I was watching a YouTube video on Odyssey. The vlogger had a wired hand held microphone and was blocking off most of the ship corridor. Someone across from her was holding the camera. Everytime passengers would inevitably walk by, she would pause, and give them an annoyed look. People paid thousands to be on that ship and should be able to walk wherever they want. The vlogger actually expected people to wait or find a detour during this lengthy video.
  2. I think it’ll take some sort of legal action to get their attention, and finally fix it. Look what happened with Southwest Airlines recently. People need to complain to their state’s attorney general if you’re in the U.S. or ftc.gov. Clearly guests calling or writing Royal isn't working, this has been an issue for years. They demand money for services not rendered, on cruises that are already paid off. It would be interesting if that is considered fraud.
  3. Terminal 1 PC is very user friendly and stress free. It’s not the most populated area in FL so maybe that’s why. I think you’ll have a good experience. And Wonder was so enjoyable my wife and I immediately booked another cruise for the same ship. We had a 10:30 boarding time and were onboard at 10:25, that’s how efficient it was.
  4. I really hope this issue gets resolved in 2024. It’s nerve racking to see a balance due on a paid off cruise, nobody should have to worry about an accidental cancellation due to a glitch.
  5. Due to the elevated prices of cruise fare and drink packages, I think from now on my wife and I will start buying drinks a la carte or a 10 drink card. Our Wonder cruise in a few weeks will likely be our last drink package splurge($1,288), I booked it months ago and I’m not canceling.
  6. Price dropped for the drink package on my upcoming cruise, but I’m not canceling and rebooking to save $81. The cruise is paid in full so the refund would be taken from cruise fare and not refunded to my credit card. Not worth risking a cruise cancellation due to this glitch, or waiting 1+ month for a refund after many phone calls.
  7. I just got refunded for an 11/8 purchase. Had to go through the resolutions department to get the refund. Sometimes refunds get stuck and you won’t get them unless it’s escalated. It might take multiple calls, not all customer service reps will allow you to escalate issues, unfortunately it takes finding the right one that cares enough to help you. Personally I’m never going to cancel and rebook anything ever again on the cruise planner, it’s not worth the hassle and 1-2 month battle to get refunds.
  8. Yes, 2 refunds that equal 1 excursion for $447. However they did the math it was the right total amount due for 7 items needing to be refunded. They usually break mine in half too, that’s why it confused me.
  9. To clarify, I want the excursion to show up as reserved. I was worried it would display as cancelled on their end. Purchased twice, cancelled once. 2 refund transactions for the same amount as the excursion. Don’t understand their math. But the total is correct. I’m guessing they consolidated soda package, Wi-Fi and smaller items into fewer transactions. Don’t want this to get messed up, it’s our Naples excursion, once in a lifetime experience probably.
  10. After 1 month, I finally got all my refunds for Black Friday sale cruise planner cancellations. The total amount refunded is correct, but the individual transactions they refunded me for make no sense, and 2 of them are the exact amount for an excursion I only cancelled once. The excursion is still showing reserved when I log in. I'm wondering if they cancelled it twice by mistake, or just consolidated the transactions. Am I right to be worried, or should I just let it go since the total amount was correct and the excursion’s still showing it’s reserved?
  11. They’re probably making money by not giving refunds automatically, and not everyone notices unless they call for a refund to have it processed.
  12. Yeah you really have to keep track of refunds you’re due. They don’t always automatically refund people, and it can take a couple months to resolve. I’m currently going through the resolutions department for $1,300 worth of cruise planner refunds from Black Friday sales. They need to know dates and order numbers to confirm a refund that’s due.
  13. My wife and I are booked on a 9 night Greek Isles cruise aboard Odyssey next year. It’ll be the first time on Quantum class. I love Oasis class, but am excited to try something different. From the videos I’ve seen the junior suites look fantastic, also the solarium and seaplex area. Staying at the exact same hotel in Rome pre cruise as we did 13 years ago on our honeymoon, and spending a week in Florence post cruise.
  14. Imagine paying these prices for Icon or Star and walking into the Windjammer to find that peas & carrots mix like food banks giveaway, or the little cheap jello cup deserts. For these insanely high prices, it better be luxury gourmet dining or Royal will get slaughtered in Icon class reviews, and it’ll possibly affect reservations when the economy deteriorates. Just a guess. People are paying these prices, and expectations will be very high. It’s a product priced for perfection.
  15. Looks like they’re eliminating the advantage of booking far in advance, for this ship at least. Usually booking 2 years in advance would mean lowest price, or close to it.
  16. I’m looking at 2026 on Star, 7 nights out of Port Canaveral. $7,000 for 2 people, ocean view balcony, including taxes and gratuities. Anyone booking?
  17. GTY puts you in a queue and you get a room only if one is available it looks like. I’d be upset if I found this out day of sailing and was offered what’s in this letter.
  18. Looking at making reservations based on the app menus and what’s offered on a specific day. My last cruise, onboard did not match with what was scheduled on the app weeks prior to sailing. For example the app said Italian night was day 2, and onboard it was actually day 5. Is it still like this?
  19. All of the 11/8 purchases finally posted to my credit card tonight. Going to have to hire an accountant to figure it all out, it’s a hot mess
  20. Have you tried calling? Don’t know what else to say. I don’t sleep well if it’s above 70, so I can relate. We bring a travel fan onboard.
  21. They shouldn’t. On my credit card I paid for the purchase and was refunded. All is correct with that. It was the only 11/8 purchase that posted and was refunded properly. Today the $129.76 was added as a balance due on the Royal website when I log in. I said I was refunded already. He said excellent, wait for another refund and then pay it again. I’m so confused, why do all that if I already paid it and was refunded? Why do any of this for a paid in full cruise? “Yes sir it’s a glitch”. I’ve never had a business ask me to wait for a 2nd refund and after that pay for the purchase again to reconcile it. Really bizarre practices for a company this large and established. Problem is they don’t separate the cruise fare and cruise planner purchases, it’s all seen as one lump sum on their end, so canceling cruise planner purchases and rebooking those items messes up their system. Makes no sense. Feel like I’m in the twilight zone. Not the first time it’s happened:
  22. Paid in full. Cruise planner purchase, canceled and refunded showing as an overdue cruise balance. Unable to fix this. Hoping it doesn’t get cancelled due to the glitch.
  23. After thinking this was resolved, a balance has reappeared today on the RC website for a paid in full cruise. $129.76 for Hideaway Beach which was posted to my credit card, and refunded since I cancelled it for a lower price. Called multiple times, spoke to 2 different people. First person sent me an emailed invoice to show me the cruise is paid in full, checked my email and it showed balance due instead. Called back. 2nd person said zero balance due. I said that’s not what I see when I log in, and the previous person sent me an invoice of a balance due for my paid in full cruise. Put me on hold to talk to technical support. They said my due date is being extended 5 days, wait for a refund of $129.76, and told me to pay $129.76 on my cruise that’s already been paid. I said I already did that out of fear my cruise would be cancelled, because I’ve heard of this happening to people. Got him to acknowledge it’s a computer glitch, but there seems to be no desire to fix it, or solution to the root cause. Do they not have any IT specialists capable of fixing this? I’m never making changes to my cruise planner purchases ever again after final payment is made. Probably going to deal with this single $129.76 charge and refund the next two months to keep the balance at zero, like a game of ping pong, just to keep the cruise from being cancelled due to a glitch.
  24. I think it’s really hit or miss, same with the Windjammer. There’s days servers are walking around taking orders, and days where there’s nobody at all doing it.
  25. I was willing to take the risk, the cruise is 10 months away, so I’ll have time to straighten out what I booked. Even if it means having to call Royal enough times to make it happen. There’s nothing left to book, so it’s the last time I’ll mess around with it for that cruise. It appears this is all only really a problem if the cruise has been paid in full already.
