  1. My employer requires the use of an app called DUO installed on a smartphone or tablet for independent authentication of credentials. I can't think of a way to do push or independent login code generation without having two VOOM accounts.
  2. Has anyone run into the issue with 2 device/2 part authentication to access applications that would not otherwise be accessible with one VOOM account on board. I will have to deal with this on my next cruise and am not sure if it is achievable without purchasing two plans.
  3. Ha! I've had covid a couple of times along with my household, despite doing all the things, so at this point, I don't care anymore...I'm just really lazy, and going a mile to Walgreen's sounds like torture to me.....
  4. I haven't checked the cost difference, but the ones Royal sells came within about four days and was pretty easy.
  5. That's awesome...I have to give props to my MEI TA too, who saw the price reduction and rebooked for me saving almost $600...
  6. So, I learned this last night after talking to a couple EMTs who came to take my neighbor to the hospital for pneumonia last night. 1...if a C19 diagnosis is two weeks old, she doesn't have an active infection for it...2...it's very common for PCR tests to show positive for months even after recovery has occurred, and there is no active virus...3...many times for elderly, there are secondary infections (like my neighbor's)...4...this was new info to me...if you take a PCR test that shows negative when you take it, then within days or weeks, you take another, many times it will show positive...I don't completely understand that except that the mRNA feature of the PCR can apparently leave traces and spoof the virus....I think this makes sense with all the false positives I keep hearing about.
  7. Now that the cobwebs are out and I am working to finish it, the app won't take the cc....just another thing to remember to complete I guess....thanks for the help
  8. The workflow was strange in my app, and it seemed to jump over that. After going back in again, I see that now. Thanks for the info.
  9. Thanks for that...after looking again, I see that I overlooked that step...I am not sure why or how I jumped over it to the vax card upload, because I was looking for it. I will say that the workflow was a little strange in that I initially uploaded my card into my wife's profile...so I think it could be improved.
  10. Nothing like that...I thought maybe there would be another step after the CDC card was verified, but there isn't one. The next step in my app is the wellness check for the day before embarkation.
  11. Check-on for our February cruise opened a couple days ago, and I checked my wife and I in. The process was different than I remember (it's been too long), and the only step we needed to take was to upload our "government papers" proving compliance with directives. That's all there was...I was really hoping for the satisfaction of uploading the passport image and taking the pic, but that wasn't part of this new process...is that everyone else's experience?
  12. This is like the local covid stats for my area...they only update it every 7-10 days now. It used to be at 2pm every day like clockwork. Personally, I like this, because the govt is probably obsessing about something else now.
  13. is there any source for info on false positives? hysteria abounds and people want to panic and make controversy
  14. Friends of Bill relate to all recovery oriented 12 step style meetings, not just AA.
  15. I intended to stay around the Waterfront or Ybor City the night before my February cruise, but rates are a minimum of $400 including taxes everywhere I looked except for a VRBO place near the port that weekend. There is some sort of international volleyball tournament in town that weekend. I am currently booked at the Airport Marriott, but don't really want to stay there because...it's...at the airport...if we were getting in at night, I would be all about it, because it is incredibly convenient. So, I am looking for ideas elsewhere without going to St Pete or Clearwater. Does anyone have any ideas for a hotel outside of the Waterfront/Ybor area I could consider?
  16. GC is on my Feb itinerary, and I could care less about going there on another cruise. As a cruise port, it's over rated. As a vacation destination, it's awesome. I hope it turns into a sea day, actually.
  17. I've used Kayak and Booking.com for getting hotels in SoBe and FLL if I don't use a hotel's site.
  18. I've had good luck with independent hotels in SoBe, about ten minutes away. You can get a place on Ocean Drive that is pretty reasonable. You can also find wildly expensive.
  19. PHE...use of the word "Health" in the acronym is difficult to accept because the bureaucrats don't take the number of concussions into consideration with the collective knocking of heads against walls....
  20. I would wait till around Feb 1 to see what the latest protocols would be.
  21. If you want a Chops steak in the MDR, you can order for an extra charge...I thought I remembered they offered a filet, not a NY Cut...it may have been specific to the ship.
  22. I've seen the Key range in price from $19.99 a day to $34.99 a day. It was worth it to me to try it at $19.99, but since you have to buy it for everyone in the cabin, unless both are heavy VOOM surf and stream users, personally, I am not really into it. I think if they make it more like the Faster to the Fun product Carnival offers, it might have more merit, but RC would have to limit how many they sell.
  23. My thought is that with all the breakthrough cases being reported that they are creating an answer before the issue gains more momentum. and personally, regarding the company's tracking of 141 cases out of 500k guests...it says to me that those who had the infection and did not report it (or didn't know they had it) were operating like things were before. I can't say for sure, but before March 2020, if I had a cold or something a few days after a cruise, was it because something spread or I was just run down. (I did get pretty sick a week or so after a November 2019 sailing on Symphony). All of this cat herding is so old, I can't even.....at least RC is managing the problem as well as they can at this point. I just hope they can start making money again soon.
  24. It's slightly confusing...there is a wine pairing with each course, but there is a note at the bottom talking about a wine flight for $19.99.
