  1. The ships are sailing at full capacity so I don’t think there was a chance of winning. I’ve won many times in the past but my luck has run out. You will enjoy Odyssey, that is one great ship!
  2. Update: did not win on any of my royal up bids. It’s been a great weekend on Freedom though!
  3. As I mentioned, I can help but details are necessary as time of year plays a major part in hotel prices. Everything listed above is subject to a 2-300% surcharge during season in South Florida. There’s not too many places in CONUS where a motel 6 will surpass $400/night………….
  4. You basically described just about every single hotel in East Fort Lauderdale. If you provide some more details like brand choice, rough budget exc I can help you.
  5. Are you flying out of San Juan for a change in itinerary from the normal routes? What is the benefit of trekking to San Juan instead of just cruising out of the CONUS?
  6. Odyssey sails the Southern Caribbean route out of Port Everglades and it’s arguably one of the best itinerary’s! Aruba and Curaçao are really great spots. I think it’s pretty popular.
  7. I have multiple bids out for Freedom this weekend. This will be a rare occasion that we are not sailing over a holiday so maybe we will have better luck. I have decent bids on Owner Suite and Royal Suite. Really would like to try the Royal Suite on Freedom this time around! Either way, it’s going to be fun.
  8. Rimowa. I’ve owned a set for 10+ years and will never need to buy another. Expensive upfront cost but very high quality that can take abuse from travel and actually looks better after some wear. It’s not for everyone.
  9. My younger kids watched the contortionist and we’re totally fine with it. They actually enjoyed it. With that being said, I think the show is weak overall and that performance is about the only thing interesting regarding the entire production.
  10. Thanks for a great behind the scenes video. I have to ask, did the company provide safety training regarding the fire watch duty? I can’t imagine they would just hand you a fire extinguisher and assume you would know what to do in the event of a fire (especially one involving flammable gas on a ship).
  11. East Fort Lauderdale is completely flooded. You will have a tough time driving and parking at the port of the conditions don’t improve tomorrow. I hope they do improve because Starbucks has been closed and I need an iced coffee!
  12. I agree with you. This was 1 in a 1000 year rainfall. Based on what happened to my neighborhood which is over the causeway from the port, I would say if you didn’t park an F-150 then you are in for a surprise. When I drove over the bridge this morning around 5am the port looked like an extension of the intracoastal.
  13. Don’t fly into FLL. That’s for sure. It’s basically a lake at this moment.
  14. As a local for 47 years I say 0% chance. As I type this, the rain is back in full force and the high tide could elevate the water 3’ above my sea wall like last night because we just haven’t had the time for the flood waters to subside. I would say anyone considering FLL should make a flight change right away to either MIA, WPB or even Orlando but do not try to gamble on FLL tomorrow.
  15. Chances = slim. A local posted this on social media. FLL is a lake.
  16. You shouldn’t have cancelled the crown loft suite as there is no “butler/genie” associated with that level. The loft suites are great!
  17. I have lived in SoFL my entire life and one thing that has always been consistent is the advice to NOT trust the weather forecast. Whatever the app or meteorologist says is likely the opposite of the actual conditions.
  18. We pack a small suitcase filled with drinks/snacks for the kids and it works out well over a 7 day voyage.
  19. Yes, they don’t ask to see any of it though. The “wellness check” is nothing more than a process formality and lasts about 30 seconds.
  20. Always Crown Loft! Not even a question regardless of location fleetwide.
  21. Confirmed, same clueless people answering the phone and steering you the opposite direction you should be heading.
  22. The Cozumel beach clubs are all next door to each other and a 15 minute cab ride from the port. The beaches are perfection and I can personally speak for the service being top notch level at Paradise beach club as well as Nachi Cocum. You can’t go wrong with either. Cozumel also has “the most spectacular diving and snorkeling in the world” according to Jacques Cousteau (I’m pretty sure this guy knew a good spot when he saw one).
  23. Never left the port swimming area but maybe we should check this out!
  24. Cozumel beach day for sure. Check out one of the beach clubs (Paradise, Nachi Cocum or Mr Sanchos).
  25. Haha, yes the tequila whistle lady! I have done the same thing but in my tequila and Tecate haze I also seem to remember the servers and the music going into a slow motion dance to a Michael Jackson tune which was both interesting and horrifying at the same time. It was the BIG Tecates too!
