Just got the official emails. Three “unsuccessful” attempts for tomorrow. We will be sailing in GS which isn’t so bad! Can’t wait for that first Kraken Pina Colada.

Margaritaville Hotel day pass. Short walk from the pier and a day well spent.

I’m sure this will be an unpopular statement but IMHO I think it’s great what RC has done with the upsizing options. Without the expansive dining choices, chairs for rent and package options what do we actually have besides a worn out and basic version of a cruise experience. I too enjoy the old days of cruising but would NEVER trade them for the new version despite the lower level of service and the cutbacks. My family would not enjoy a stripped out version of the new cruise experience so we always will go all out! Can’t wait for Icon and all the extras she will offer. Yes, I belong to the YOLO group.

I’m taking the opposite approach and booking for my next couple stops in Nassau in the hopes they get more realistic about the beer prices while they are down & out.

There’s a snorkeling excursion that’s a great way to spend a few hours on a catamaran. We have done it a couple times and enjoyed it. Blue Lagoon is “ok”, the tourist trap vibes are evident. IMHO Blue Lagoon and “south of the border” are one and the same. $13 for a Kalik beer is price gouging to the max. They are going to need it though to pay for the sinking boat litigation.

The E muster drill is one of a very small number of excellent programs that came out of the post pandemic mess. I can’t imagine anything better then E muster other then no muster at all.

As someone that has owned and currently owns boat(s), I find it incredibly hard to believe this vessel was undermined and sank due to a “wave”. There is certainly some explaining to do by Blue Lagoon and the transport vendor. I’ve also been on this excursion twice and have never witnessed more than a moderate chop on the way to and from the pier. Something stinks.

Depends on the machine and the denominations available. I bet normally $10-$20/ spin and occasionally will bet $50 and $100/spin depending on the machine.

Pier. The windows on the port side of the vessel all shattered and sent glass shrapnel flying. There were quite a few people bleeding and bruised from falling due to the impact. The event was caused by a dock line anchor point that had broke loose and was offset pointing out at window level. The crew had zero situational awareness and could have easily prevented this incident by docking on the opposite side which was empty. I noticed the metal and was trying to communicate it the crew who was too busy texting to respond quick enough. This world is filled with incompetent people who are placed in the wrong positions and responsible for more then they can mentally or physically handle. These idiots are lucky nobody was killed. The subject vessel is the same one that sank.

This is the same boat we were on that impacted the concrete pier in March while on the same tour. There were several people who ended up with cuts and bruises.

Owners suite is pretty great. I prefer the loft suites for sky class because on Oasis class they are on deck 17. I don’t care much for star class at all other then the staterooms like the aquatheatre or royal loft suite which are great! The genie is a bit much for my family.

The “whatever is cheaper game” might be tough because they all are going down the same road in regards to scale backs on loyalty and price increases. I actually think Royal has the best loyalty program out there regardless of the new direction and corporate strategies.

Enjoy the coastal kitchen! Believe me when I tell you, if I can manage to bring my two little trouble makers in there and not get booted off the ship then you will be fine. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating to children. Part of the enjoyment of booking a sky class suite is the use of this dining option and missing out on it should not be an option. Enjoy it, we will be in there next week on Wonder and I already have my tip money ready because my kids are going to request hotdogs and pizza regardless of the venue.

7 days out. Hoping to relive the old days of RU and get some upgrade news by mid week. Thinking about cancelling the Star Class bids and keeping OS and CLS in the rare case we actually win since we are sailing with my entire family and don’t need the Genie. I feel like we are positioned well win or lose in GS so I’m not sweating it. Looking forward to another awesome week on Wonder!

Christmas decorations have been up Thanksgiving week for as many years as I can recall. We sail Wonder this Thanksgiving and will get our annual photo by the tree on the promanade.

I don’t think the “issues” with California have anything to do with the weather at all (although the Pacific Ocean is not user friendly). IMHO Florida has the best weather in the world w/o “issues”. The hurricane season is hyped up by the media and is rarely a problem especially concerning cruise vacations.

One important thing to note if you are a seasoned Caribbean cruiser. The water is frigid and you won’t be frolicking in the beautiful crystal clear ocean with a pina colada in hand. This takes some getting used to. Personally, we have done it (and considered another West coast voyage) but I think it’s a one and done type ordeal for us. The Caribbean is much more enjoyable especially if you are big on beach days.

Yeah, I agree. When it happens in an elevator its a level up on the awkwardness scale. I just don’t understand it.

The most disrespectful invention ever is the speaker phone and the people who feel like the entire world needs to know their business. There is absolutely nothing more obnoxious than someone yapping on a speaker phone in public. Nails on a chalkboard for me.

I do the same thing. Mostly pictures but I always have to document the win on camera!
