  1. Hi there, we just finished our Alaskan cruise July 30-August 6. It took my wife and I a total of 2 hours from check in to setting our foot on the ship. We arrived about 1:00pm. What took long was customs. The lineup was huge! It was basically one line for all 3 ships on port. Royal, Celebrity and Holland were all there. We actually arrived at the Port at 9:00am. We dropped off our luggage on ground level and went to the 2nd floor to check in which was a breeze since it was early. They give u a colored ticket afterwards. Since we arrived early, my wife and I walked around downtown for a bit. It was when we came back to get on the ship was when the long wait happened. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi there, my wife and I are about to go on Brilliance this Sunday for an Alaskan cruise. Our flight home on debarkation day is not until 10:00pm. We book an excursion through Royal from 9:30am - 4:00pm on the same day. At the end of the excursion, they will take us to the airport with our luggages. At least this way we are not lugging around our luggages in Vancouver for the day and only spending a few hours at the airport. Factor in that we will most likely have dinner afterwards and the waiting won’t be as bad. I hope this is an idea that may help.
  3. Your kids will be very excited and will definitely have a great time! Our Freedom was cancelled too and so we switched to this itinerary as well as the December 28 - Jan 5. We had a B2B cancelled. My family and I are super excited. My kids will be 10 and 8 at the time of sailing. Kids don’t know this yet and will be a surprise. My wife and I are planning on bringing a couple of gifts each so they can open presents on Christmas Day as this will be their very first time away from home for the holidays which I’m sure they’ll forget because of the cruise.
  4. It doesn’t make sense for them to this during both Holidays. I’m booked for a B2B cruise starting Dec 1-15. Argh, I got a pretty good deal for these 2 sailings on a JS. I’ve checked around the same time frame and I would be spending almost double than what I originally spent. I’m pretty upset and nervous at the same time because I’ve never been at this situation where a cruise is cancelled under my bookings. I did receive an email a few weeks ago that one of my ports has changed to another port so if there was a scheduled dry dock, why email everyone and letting us know about the change. I hope this cruises will not be cancelled, fingers crossed. Hey, maybe UTOPIA will take over our itinerary, fingers double crossed!
  5. If I drive, I arrive the day of but if I fly, it’s the day before
  6. I also live in Ontario and we did our first drive to Cape Liberty last May 2022. I parked right at the terminal cruise parking. Sure it’s $25 a day but worth it and very convenient. I did not want to risk parking elsewhere, after all its your ride back home. As soon as we arrived, we dropped off our bags and then drove to the parking lot. I suggest to arrive early enough before the rest of the people come. We got there at 9am with absolutely no traffic getting in. We were with first time cruisers and they could not stop looking and taking pictures of Oasis while waiting to get on. Have fun on your cruise!
  7. Atlantis is literally 10 mins drive. We used a local guide to take us there. We paid only $10 each thats because there was a full van. We got to go the Atlantis, walk around for about 2 hours, see the aquarium, the hotel and stayed at the beach for a bit. Than the tour guide took us to the local town for an hour and we got to buy some Rum cakes. We were back at the ship by 2:00pm.
  8. I booked GTY rooms my last 2 cruises which was on Oasis OTS which was my very first times booking GTY room. From what I see online from many forums that you receive your stateroom number as late as when embarking on your sailing. Well, for me anyways, I received my stateroom number on my first sailing 6 weeks in advance and on my second cruise, I received the stateroom number 5 weeks in advance. Both rooms were Oceanview Balcony. My cruises were on May and November. I guess it all depends on how busy your particular cruise will be and you'll get the last available room depending on what type of room you book interior, balcony etc... It was nice to get the stateroom early cause on both occasions when the rooms were assigned, I was able to contact my TA and switch the rooms to an area of my choosing which was successfully done. I hope you get yours soon!
  9. Everyone will need to download the excl app for anyone to use the messaging feature. I am entirely positive that the feature is now free for everyone.
  10. OMG, my apologies, not 2023 but 2024.
  11. I’m sorry, we will be going on Icon May 11/23.
  12. Hi everyone, My family will be going on Icon on May 4/23. We be at 79 points before Icon, therefore we will cruise beforehand. We are thinking of FOTS May 6-10. Will we receive the points in time before we board Icon. I heard it take a week or 2 for the points to appear.
