  1. Does this mean you will be in an "odd" numbered room or an "even" numbered room...that is very important to an OCD!
  2. The MDR menu features a different theme every night but also included are their regular nightly standby offerings. They could include fried shrimp, chicken or a pot roast. Desserts are repeated nightly.
  3. Stopped doing that long ago...it is a waste of time!! If you catagory is sold out, RCL is NEVER drop the price so why bother. Price drops only occur with excess inventory.
  4. I recall a trip in 2010 and was asked to leave the evening MDR seating because I was wearing flops. I still question that since women are permitted to wear open toe sandals....and they are the same thing. Now I wear a nice pair of black house slippers and they have never questioned my choice. And they are more comfortable.
  5. Our January, 2017 Freedom of the Seas presented a Dessert Tray. Our server told us it does change but they always offer Tiramisu. I found them acceptable but nothing outstanding enough to ask for a second serving.
  6. We use two CPAP machines....and RCL provided distilled water and a heavy duty 100 foot industrial power cord. A little over kill but it did work and I am glad I had my extension cord so we could plug BOTH machines into my 8ft cord. We had an ADA cabin and I was puzzled why there were not any electrical outlets bedside for medical equipment. This huge cord had to lay across the cabin and it was a dangerous tripping hazard at night.
  7. Just ask...they will be thrilled to assist you and your bride.
  8. I travel to enjoy different foods.....having what I can get at my home port doesn't sound exciting....I can get that at home. Corporate Head Chefs probably would have difficulty establishing regional contacts.
  9. I asked my attendant (Freedom of the Seas) for an extension cord for our TWO CPAP machines. I was expecting a 15 ft cord but they brought a 100ft industrial extension cord! I did have to plug my "normal" extension cord into their cord for the two machines. Since we were in a ADA room, I would have thought we would have outlets bedside for any medical equipment that might have been required.
  10. When the doors open....get on!! It may not be going in the direction you set out for...but eventually, you will be able to get to your desired floor.
  11. Since you are a first time cruiser.....I don't have the qualifications to decide what you might not like. I have my choices...but you need to experience dining and report back what you loved!!
  12. Our January cruise displayed some of the worst magic marker tattoos I have ever seen.....anywhere. Hope they were offered a refund
  13. Book NOW and the earlier the better for the best prices. Most cruise lines are booking into 2018-2019 cruise season.
  14. It has been our experience Room Service always is on time with the time we select with our order tag. Freedom of the Seas ALWAYS called just before delivery to give us a "heads up" to get dressed....vbg....and they always were a few minutes ahead of schedule. There never was a need to get impatient.
  15. I can't recall any restaurants that I would skip on our recent Freedom of the Seas adventure....but! There are a few dishes that I definitely wouldn't recommend. The first had to be their "hash browns"....they were subpar. Buffet Eggs were lackluster and watery. Any egg dish ordered for room service were not the best. To recommend an "egg dish" I found the Eggs Benedict served in the MDR were actually good. Food served in Sabor was good...but I find the restaurant non deserving of their "upcharge". They were serving ordinary fare....with a flashy presentation only.
  16. Dined Freedom of the Seas......Sabor does NOT merit being an "upcharge" restaurant....common food. They offer nothing of any value.
  17. There isn't a "dining plan"...you just go to where you want to eat. Specialty dining, which has an upcharge, do not offer buffets, so you are set to go! The Windjammer is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They close about 10 PM but free room service is available until midnight. After midnight, there is a room service charge to place an order.
  18. Skip the package and buy ala carte. You can buy a bottle of wine for dinner and what you don't consume at that time, your server will write your name on the bottle and you can enjoy the balance the following night. I know you are on vacation, but would you spend $1000-1100 for two weeks liquor at home? If you would, buy the package.
  19. Gold Coast Parking 312 SW 24th St....(SR84,,,aka Alligator Alley) Ft.Lauderdale is about $8.50 per day including pick up and drop off at Terminal. Drop off location is about 50 feet from terminal entrance. You can do a search on Parking Panda hat
  20. Only if you CHOOSE to participate. No is a wonderful word.......used too little.
  21. Unfortunately, "your version" of hash browns are nothing like I have ever seen on a cruise.....maybe Waffle House....but not RCL....VBG!!!
  22. The "hashbrowns" we received were NOT deep fried....just a square slice from a baking dish. Once I got a triangle shape deep fried potato and that was much better.
  23. RE: cancelled excursions......Freedom of the Seas (01/09/17) had to miss Labadee due to rough seas. They automatically credited our SeaPass account and we didn't have to do anything.
  24. Download the new Mobile Passport app....that speeds things up immensely! We were driving so first exit wasn't necessary. We just sat back and let the hurds mass to exit. Then we walked off the ship.
