  1. Definitely between you and your doctors. Follow their advice. I'm guessing it will depend on how aggressive your type is. I took a cruise in 2018 to celebrate end of interferon injections for stage 3 melanoma. Used sunscreen heavy that trip because I had an oncology appointment days after returning. She would have kick my arse had I come back burnt :-). I have my last PET scan (#10) in a couple weeks before being declared "cured." Hang in there...
  2. The cruise planner deals were set to expire at midnight, but they pushed them another 48 hrs.
  3. Same for a 23 Jan sailing. They actually had a Internet/DBP combo for $86 IIRC on a 4 night. DBP alone was $78.
  4. We've done 3 cruises without passports and decided to apply yesterday. Applied 9 weeks to the day of departure for our next one (Nassau/CocoCay) and if they don't come in, we have backup birth certificates to use. For the 2 of us, it was $360 total. Not a lot, but not peanuts either. Now consider many are traveling with kids, etc and the price can then be $700+. We decided to finally get them because our October cruise is to Mexico where getting the needed documents to fly out is more difficult due to the required travel distance to the port.
  5. While it's not refundable unless you pay the $150 or so, the change fee is $100 per person IIRC. I always do non refundable. Odds are 0 that I'd have to outright cancel and extremely low I'd have to move it. Rather save the $150 per cruise knowing the change fee would amount to just $200 if something came up.
  6. It's only because of the black Friday sale. Prior to that I've called a couple times in the last week or so with no hold times.
  7. Going on our 4th (Jan) and 5th (Oct) cruises in 2023 and first since 2018. We've never gotten anything beyond the soda package, but are buying the DBP for at least the next one then seeing if we think it's worth it for us before buying for the one after that. Question is, do the drinks still show up on the stateroom account (but with a $0 charge obviously) to track consumption vs cost of the package?
  8. What about to buy the DBP with Voom Surf and Stream bundle for $86 a day on a 4 night, but the site is down again. Grr.
  9. Cruise planner being down isn't helping the issue.
  10. Same. Sometimes a restart gets the others to show, sometimes not. Frustrating.
  11. Just got an email advertising Buy one get one half off on the drink package, but not showing on either of my cruise planners.
  12. I called and had OBC applied for the cruise I booked yesterday (Jan trip). It was basically the price the cruise was on Monday when I first priced it. Seems they raised the price by $48 just before the sale that dropped it $48. My cruise in Oct is still $100 more than when we booked it. For those not seeing any difference, check the details on the pricing and you should see a cyber Monday deduction. If not, try going through the advertisement on the crown and anchor page and ensuring your numbers are used during the mock booking.
  13. We have never cruised with a passport before (3 times), but planned on getting them for our next cruise in Oct 23. Well, decided that was too long to wait so we booked a Jan 23rd trip (Nassau and CoCo Cay). I have the applications and an appointment on Monday at the post office, but I believe I am reading that we need to send in our original birth certificates. The appointment is 9 weeks from sail date. I have a certified copy I could send, but my wife just has one. Do they need to hold the BC for the process? If they do, I don't think we are going to risk it and don't want to spend an extra $60 each to expedite. If we get neither the BC or the Passports back in time, our trip is ruined. Our mail has not always been the greatest either.
  14. That's a nice trick. Unfortunately, the trip I just booked for Jan (not in the cruise planner yet) is $83.99. A bit much for a 4 night trip IMO. It is $71.99 for a 6 night in October. For anyone looking, you can find the ship code in the URL if you are doing a mock booking for that ship.
  15. I just got off the phone booking a Mariner for Jan. The RC person I booked through confirmed it when I asked what kinds of price protection there was seeing that I am into final payment territory already. I have 48 hours to price match with any differences being sent as OBC. So yes, check cruise prices tomorrow.
