  1. Thanks, but as mentioned on here, models like that are completely useless and not accurate whatsoever this far out. The only account I’m watching is Royal Caribbean’s Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer! Only time will tell with this one.
  2. I’m on the Oasis sailing out of NJ to the Bahamas on September 17th. This storm is one I’m watching closely for sure. My only hope is the previous sailing arrives safely on time! Closely watching Craig Setzer’s twitter. No reason to worry as of yet, but certainly keeping an eye out.
  3. Thanks! They're certainly issuing 10:30am check in times as the Facebook group for the sailing had quite a few people get it. I was just so baffled! Thanks for the response! This is at Cape Liberty and I hear it's pretty lax there right now with embarkation and assigned times so fingers crossed!
  4. So this is odd - I always make sure I print my set sail pass to pdf right away after checking in. Well, I know I had selected 10:30am even though I was half asleep last night when I checked in. I had snagged the check in time on my phone and then finished the check in and then went to my computer to save the set sail pass... I don't trust technology. Well, I woke up to check on everything and all places with the check in time is saying 11:30am. I checked my saved set sail pass and it says 10:30-11am. I am beyond confused... I called RC and the gentleman told me 10:30 is impossible as a check in time 11am was the earliest, which is obviously not the case because many people (including myself on the printed set sail pass) had 10:30 check in. Curious - has anyone else had an issue like this??? I have the printed one I am planning to just bring unless another spot opens up, but I am beyond confused with this one and they weren't helpful on the call which is understandable because it is such an odd situation!
  5. Oh great!! I didn't know it opened yet - thanks for the update!
  6. Hey everyone! I am going on my third solo cruise in September and it arrives in Nassau again. The first time I stayed on the ship and the second time I did the food tour (mainly to get rum but I highly recommend it as well. It's sold out or I don't think I would be posting haha!). This time I am going back and fourth on what to do. I have been debating Blue Lagoon or Pearl Island, but I am not loving either option honestly as the day before I will be at the Coco Beach Club and nothing can top that. My question is would it be best to not do any excursion and just explore Nassau or go the route of Pearl Island or Blue Lagoon? I don't think I would question it if I was with others, but as a solo traveler, is it wise/safe to explore Nassau out on my own? Any suggestions or thoughts would be helpful! For reference, we are in Port Canaveral a few days earlier and I am planning on staying on the ship during that port day so I do want to get off in Nassau in some capacity.
  7. While they say you can use the set sail pass until you get your sea pass card, every time I board early they just ask for your room number- so make sure to remember that!
  8. I was at the Coco Beach Club September 2022 and was out on a beach mat and had my goggles so I stuck my head in and was surprised to see how many jellyfish there were! I stayed out for a while longer with my feet dangling in the water and never felt anything, but about three hours later saw a rash on my foot that was a bit itchy. I am certain it was a jellyfish sting, but never noticed it when it happened and quickly forgot about it. I am going back at the same time this upcoming September and hanging out at the Beach Club again (honestly could just stay there every day) and am curious to see if there are more or less than the same time last year.
  9. I've purchased travel insurance for all of my cruises through Costco Travel, which is administered by Zurich. Their pricing and coverage has always felt like the best value when shopping around! They do have a "Cancel for Any Reason" option as well, but I have never included it before.
  10. Congrats on celebrating 10 years! I hope you enjoy RC- I've only sailed with them and it would take a lot for me to try another cruise line. Here's to counting down the days!!
  11. Hey everyone! Finalized my booking of this cruise yesterday and I am very excited. I was able to score one of the panoramic ocean view rooms at the front of the ship that were added during amplification. It's my birthday on the 17th so I am very excited to celebrate with Royal! I am solo cruising and looking forward to meeting new people on this cruise. Join the discussion if you are joining on this cruise!
  12. Thank you for this wonderful review! I’ll be there next Thursday and you just upped my excitement for this tour! The distillery is what pushed me to go this route and I think it’s the right call for the last day of my cruise.
  13. I would reach out to RC then since it’s getting closer. Especially if you are able to see the eDocs but with no luggage tags available.
  14. I was able to check in 45 days prior, but my eDocs including the tags were not available until 30 days until the cruise. Mine showed Pending like you until 30 days. I’d wait it out until then.
  15. In the MDR I did My Time Dining but the same time each night and was sat at the same two-person table. Most likely similar seating in the specialty dining places. The Chef's Table is meant to be experienced together as a group and so all eight of you are seated at one table in a private area of the MDR (I have only experienced it post-pandemic where the group size was cut in half). Hibachi would be the same sitting alongside others as that too is part of the experience.
  16. I just booked the Island Food & Culinary Insight Tour when I am in Nassau in two weeks, but was curious if anyone has done this excursion and any reviews you have on it! Is there another excursion you'd suggest instead? The last time I was in Nassau on my first cruise, I did not leave the ship. I enjoyed staying on the ship while in Port and will probably do it in Nassau going forward, but I want to experience it at least once!
  17. I'm sailing solo next week! I am new to cruising; this is only my second cruise, but it has become my absolute favorite way to travel solo! I am an extrovert so I find it enjoyable to meet new people, but also do whatever I want whenever I want. In the MDR my server was top-notch and I just told him to bring out the best and each night he served me a 5-course meal with wine pairings! I had done the Chef's Table (which is absolutely worth it) early on and it honestly was like I had that experience every night the rest of the trip! I have noticed the staff going above and beyond with solo travelers, so that's another perk to traveling solo.
  18. I have more of a hack than a mistake. I love having my phone by me at night and with extremely limited power options, I was saddened there were no outlets next to me on my first cruise. I did bring along my 25,000 mAh battery pack and the drawer in the night stand had a little slit for a cord, so I would charge the battery pack in the day and then plug my phone into it every night without having to worry! That one lasted me two or three days if I forgot which was nice but it was only my phone. Highly recommend this option if you use your phone for an alarm or need it closer to you than across the room. Along with this, make sure to research approved power strips to multiply your outlet options. You never realize how many outlets you use until you only have one or two in weird spots!
  19. I just came to report the same thing! Just dropped $20 for me. I'll take that savings!
  20. I was able to get mine for $133. I have never done it before and I really enjoy learning the logistics, especially of an operation as large as this! I canceled my massage for my sea day so that will make up for it, haha!
  21. RC website shows that the All Access Ship Tour is still unavailable due to COVID, however, it just appeared on my planner and I booked it for my sailing on Freedom on 9/19/2022. Pretty excited to see it back!
