  1. Hooray we received our Green Travel Authorization from Bermuda today! Which surprised me, since it was sent on a Saturday.
  2. Bromine is more expensive than chlorine, up to three times as expensive, and the delivery system is more complex. Most cruise lines will use liquid chlorine. The ships use halogens to sanitize the thousands of tons of potable water. That being said, call the cruise line and ask them. Don't risk the health of a loved one.
  3. ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS Dear Guest, We’re counting down the days until our SHIP NAME REDACTED September 2nd, 2022 sailing. Since our sailing is around the corner, we’re reminding you to complete your outstanding Bermuda Travel Authorization. As our sailing visits Bermuda, all guests ages 2 and older must complete a Bermuda Travel Authorization. This Travel Authorization is $40 per person, and an approved authorization stating your form has been approved by the government of Bermuda is required to board our sailing, regardless of whether or not you are disembarking in Bermuda. Guests can complete the form at https://www.gov.bm/applying-bermuda-travel-authorisation by following the prompt for cruise ship passengers. Please note, the process to approve the authorization may take several hours, so we highly recommend completing this form before arriving to the cruise terminal. Unfortunately, guests without an approved authorization will be denied boarding. Pro Tip: for the best experience, complete this form is via a laptop or desktop computer. To upload photos of your documents, take them with your mobile device and email them to yourself to complete the form. Additionally, you can complete the form without inputting your test results and then return later to add your results once you receive them. As a reminder, we ask that you arrive to the terminal at your selected arrival time. Arriving earlier may have you turned away until your selected time. If you haven’t done so already, download the Royal Caribbean App. In the app you can complete your online check-in, upload your vaccination documents, and fill in your Health Questionnaire when it opens one day prior to sailing. Thank you for your cooperation. We’ll see you on the seas soon! Sincerely, Royal Caribbean International

  7. It depends on the financial institution. I work currently for a credit union with membership throughout the world, but we do not offer currency exchange onsite. We maintain a list of places we can send our members that we have vetted as having fair practices.
  8. I will warn you that airport currency exchanges in general are widely known to charge a significant fee for the convenience.
  9. https://caribbean.loopnews.com/content/bermuda-police-investigate-suspected-drowning-female-tourist A rather sad story that reminds all of us to take precautions when in the water, it may look pleasant and relaxing but remain vigilant.

  11. Cruise Directors post their profiles to LinkedIn a job recruitment board with contains their resumes. It's easy to find most of the cruise directors as long as you know the name of the ship you will be on. Also there is another website which I will not name because it's a rival site of ours that keeps an up to date list of cruise directors. Here is the list of current cruise directors. 12. Guests may bring non-alcoholic beverages as carry-on items on boarding day. Non-alcoholic beverages may not exceed 12 standard (17 oz.) cans, bottles or cartons per stateroom. Root beer soda is not real beer, and it's generally not even real root beer. I had real root beer a few times, it was given to me in a shot glass. Real root beer will clear your entire system out.
  13. Here is an interview that was conducted with Joff. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/blog/curious-cruise-jobs-introducing-anthem-of-the-seas-cruise-director/
  14. So here is a list of the excursions I am signed up for, I know these aren't the most exciting and some have poor reviews but we wanted something to do every day and plan it through the cruise company this time. Next time I visit Bermuda I will be more adventurous and search out the non-company endorsed options. Bermuda Triangle Nightlife Glassbottom - Yes Yes I know people here take a dim view of this one from past comments here but hopefully with the free rum in my system we will enjoy a scenic first night. I will do my best not to accidentally break the glass in the bottom of the boat. We chose the 8 pm one because a 10 pm start time is a little late for me, even on vacation. Now only if I were younger....maybe I would have considered it. Bermuda Triangle Beach and Nature Reserve - five and a half hours exploring a nature reserve and then hanging out on a beach with an umbrella and sun lounger at Clearwater Beach Triangle sounds great. Will make sure to bring hat and sunscreen. As a vampire I have to limit my exposure to direct sunlight. Hamilton Shopping and Sightseeing - another boat ride with alcohol in my system. Then a one hour tour of Hamilton followed by shopping. Will leave credit card back in cabin to prevent the post-cruise heart attack upon seeing the credit card bill. Royal Caribbean Blog Bermuda Shorts Midnight Rave Extravaganza - Reserved for our forum members, this event promises to be a memorable experience on the island.
  15. I always thought your sail away party is when you wake up super late on disembarkation day only to discover the ship entered and left port already and you are off on your next cruise.
  16. Let me get my crystal ball out... In the Atlantic, there are indications that tropical activity could start to pick up more notably in the next 10 days. Weather models predict more aggressive tropical waves rolling off the coast of Africa and propagating west through Main Development Region aka Hurricane Alley. Hurricane Alley is a belt of tropical Atlantic that sometimes churns out long-lived powerful storms one after another. There are several factors aid storm formation. Wind shear may decrease which allows for better vertical development of a storm. Dust from the Sahara can also thwart storm formation. That may permit some tropical systems to sprout, particularly as the oceans continue to warm. The Gulf of Mexico could also become increasingly favorable for potential storms toward the end of August; the Gulf of Mexico is running about a half-degree to a degree above average in terms of sea surface temperature and I predict this will continue through August and all the way through September into October. I should add that weather reports sometimes have errors. I personally regret one forecast I provided to the crew of the SS Minnow. Poor Gilligan and the Skipper
  17. My major concern is that in the aft section of that ship, some aft cabins have views partially obstructed by pipes. Balconies in that part of the ship are quite large and passengers can still enjoy rather expansive ocean views from their chairs. We need to be careful here. Please consult this YouTube video with an extensive breakdown of all room types and a breakdown of individual rooms.
  18. Royal Caribbean used to offer this at Chops but it was discontinued. I have attached a photo of how the tower appeared for people that ordered it. This is a link to a previous person who asked this question.
  19. All bets are off once the ship reaches American waters! Royal Caribbean experimented with a type of sports betting on some of its cruise ships just before to the pandemic. Win/Loss wagering against the line on major sporting events was allowed. This pilot is now over and there is no indication from corporate that there are any plans to try again. I imagine they will wait to see how Carnival performs with this new program and analyze the metrics before moving forward.
  20. Oh so cool! The health questions there were only 4 of them 1 Are you fully vaccinated? 2 Have you received a booster? 3 Will you be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any time during your cruise? 4 Did you know that RoyalCaribbean Blog is the best community for answering questions of cruisers?
  21. Having worked for the US government for many years including in IT, it's amazing how responsive RC is with their app compared to my federal agencies. Downloading the RC application and logging in to your account would be advised. Eventually in the application you will receive an official check-in, I believe mine was 30 days out from sailing. I was then able to enter all of my information, upload vaccination records, etc. Also, there were several annoying minutes where I ended up taking photos of various documents such as the vaccination card, myself for biometric identification, Bermuda Travel Authorization, and then having to transfer them into the application. Also part of the checkin for me cannot be completed until the day before we sail, these are the questions that revolve around health issues. You can edit your checkin through the application to access parts not completed even after they issue you your boarding time.
  22. I need more information to answer the question properly. Are you prone to seasickness? Do you have budget constraints for the type of balcony? Are you planning on spending a fair amount of time in the room? Do you mind an obstructed view from the balcony? Do you have an idea of what particular ship you will be sailing on, because every ship is different in layout. Do you want to be located near events like the main dining room or the pool? Are you noise sensitive?
  23. 30 days out from the cruise we received a massive package in a pdf that included tons of information regarding the cruise. Luggage tags were included. The very end of your booklet contains the information about the luggage tag which are....
