  1. Very strange, but I by chance noticed that most of the TV channels were OTE (other than English) when on Navigator this past March from Miami.  I shrugged my shoulders, as if the TV is on for me, 99.9% of the time its on the bow cam/info channel.

    Had a fantastic time.

  2. After spending 35 years in Houston/Galveston (until last year), my uneducated opinion is:

The island drains quickly.  After that, all will depend on

1 - How much if any damage was done to the terminal/pier/loading walkways.  I'm guessing very little, but thats just me.

2 - Street/electrical/water/sewer disruption.  My feeling is minimal.

3 - Port facilities such as bouys and channel markers...have they been moved/lost, etc.

4 - Can the port service the ship with fuel and provisions, as well as offload waste.  This also is impacted by whatever they are taking onboard in Miami today.

5 - Transportation.  is the island accessible via road all the way to both airoprts.  Unknown to me.

Probably a thousand other things I'm not aware of, and while the port itself is considered critical infastructure, I won't think of secong guessing local officials as to where things fall into place when considering the needs of the local population.  I'd like to think odds are good for 9/3 and excellent for 9/10.

(your mileage may very, past performance does not guarantee future results)

The one in Cozumel I went to was in downtown Cozumel, on the second floor of a restaurant, it was right on the corner of the big Plaza downtown, there is also a restaurant/Bar downstairs that they try and get you to sit at but if you tell them cigars/Humidor/ "La Casa Del Habano" , and point upstairs, they will show you the way, big walk in Humidor.

I'm traveling to Cozumel in October, staying at a resort, and plan on going downtown to visit and restock my Humidor.

    Been there.  Great place.

Ah, understand.  But still this is the first time that I've seen a non al a carte menu listed for Oasis.  Makes sense that a transfer of menus would be the easiest solution.  Curious, what is the cost for Sabor on Freedom?

    I've paid $20 or $25 on V & F class ships.

They have a HUGE fear of getting the MOS back there & will leave RC for other lines if they do that.

They WILL get MOS back, just not the MOS they are thinking of...

Mariner (Voyager Class) will be doing 3&4 runs from Miami when Enchantment leaves.

That one really surprised me but they are already available for booking.

On Serenade, last October, they had 1 aerial show.

Serenade last November had none :(

Its a shame.  The Radiance Class ships had such an awesome loyalty lounge up on deck 12 (the roof of the Centrum) with its open catwalks to the glass floored center.  They took all that away for the aerial act equipment and now hardly use it :(

  7. Royal has a tour that includes stops at the rock formations, north shore/natural bridge, and lighthouse, then finishes with a few hours at the beach (Eagle or Palm).  it is done in 50' motorcoaches and gives a great overview of the island.  After, there is still plenty of time for wandering and shopping in town.

IMO its a great overview of the island for the first time visit.

  8. I visited Amiga last March.  Great time!

its very simple and laid back.  Only 36 persons per trip, two trips per day, wade ashore in about 2' of water.  Small tiki bar, plenty of loungers, hammocks, outdoor chairs/tables.  You can walk the circumference in about 15 minutes at a slow pace.  The crew of the boat are first rate.  one was the "owner"... the island is on a 99 year lease that his grandmother now holds since the passing of his grandfather.

There will be a few locals boating out and hanging around the periphery of the main landing spot to sell you their wares, but only a few and very low key.

    I will be going again!
