  1. ha ha...that's crazy. I had a cruise in 2000, but had no idea the exact date, I emailed them and asked if they could find me with just a very vague description of my cruise "sometime in 2000 OR 2001, Sovereign of the seas, I remember it going to Key west but that's about it" They sent me an email back informing that I did, indeed sail in 2000, to Key west and Nassau... on the Majesty of the seas. I have no idea how for 20+ years I SWORE I sailed on the Sovereign. Lol, but they found me and linked it up to my account, that's all that matters!
  2. Yep- this is a hack a lot of parents use. It works great if a kid needs a nap or darkness so the parents can still relax without walking around in the dark.
  3. Hyperlink is a name they use for some activities planned for 18-25 year olds. A lot of times that after teen but not quite "old" age group feels a little forgotten so Royal has a few meetups and activities labeled as "Hyperlink" to try to bring that age group together for some games and social time.
  4. Same, Mike...same. We had CRAZY traffic due to tunnel construction in Miami last January...sailaway was set for 5 but we didn't pull off until around 730, they never announced why but I assumed it was due to the amount of people still trying to get into the port. We missed dinner that night and ended up doing the dreaded first night WJ... that was the one and only time I got my wife to go in there at dinner time.
  5. Funny you say this, MSC JUST upgraded that site and it's 100x easier to use now. You should have seen it 3-4 months ago. I don't think it's TOO difficult now, but they have different levels of "kids" because they charge differently, under 11 is free for certain sailings, under 17 is free for others. I am booked with MSC for December, I did everything on the phone, but mock booked it through the site first. They do have great deals, when I booked almost a year ago I was able to book an OV Balcony for 3 of us- 7 nights, with adult drink packages for the adults (and I don't even drink) and a "Minors package" for the kid, plus WIfi for two, in the slightly upgraded "Fantastica class" (which just means you can change your date once, which I actually did, you get to pick your room location and get no delivery charges for room service breakfast.) on the newest U.S ship for under 2500 bucks. And it's a pretty good itinerary that we've never done... the reviews of MSC are SO up and down, we figured for that price, they'd have to serve us dog food and never clean our rooms for us to have a bad time!
  6. Booked through a TA in 10\23 for this July. Still nothing. I was checking regularly but now I'm just waiting until check in, THEN I'll start checking regularly again. It's just an OV, so not really too concerned about location- more hoping for a lucky pick of all the way FWD or a spacious OV, but I know I'm more likely gonna be down in the deck 3 area, and I'm fine with that, too.
  7. I'm here for all of the Snack Shack and WJ food reviews!
  8. Sawgrass is in Ft Lauderdale, correct? Last time we stayed in Miami and we went to the Dolphin mall which was really nice, but we are staying in FLL this year so we'll definitely wander over to check this one out. Oh...it's CRUISE DAY!!!! Enjoy your breakfast and get to the port!!
  9. I haven't even brought pants my past two cruises
  10. There is no age to log into the internet. She can do that with no issues to browse, email or whatever... but to use the app (which doesn't actually require the paid internet) she would need to log in under one of the adults names. You can be logged in on more than one app, so if she logs in as you, you'll still be able to use yours
  11. This is how I read it at first, as well...but it got us to read the post!
  12. Yeah, I know Cheers is a tourist trap, but same- just want a picture out front, basically. The hop on hop off might be in our plans, as well!
  13. These gangs have to traverse mountains, un-paved roads and forests in order to get from Port Au Prince to Labadee...it would take them a day or more of VERY rough terrain. There is no real reason for them to even bother going that far west on the island when they are already accomplishing what they want without moving far from the capital. I'm more concerned walking to my car at 4am in Philadelphia every day than I would ever be in the secure, secluded area called Labadee. IF you don't feel safe or right about having fun on the other side of a country having issues, then you do you. But like many said, those few locals that do work in Labadee selling stuff would suffer far more if the ships stopped coming.
  14. We'll be in Boston on Labor day, on a different cruise line, but I always assume the excursions are generally the same. I do see a Salem witch tour but it's literally the whole time we are there, get off, do a 7 hour excursion and get back on. I would love to do that eventually, especially in October!
  15. We are heading to Boston in early September, we saw that but I think we are just gonna do our own thing. Figure out a way to Cheers, then just check out the Quincy market area. I figured that's actually "doing Boston my own way" lol. BUT definitely open to any other ideas, so I'll be checking to see if anyone gives you info on this one!
  16. I'm late to this one, but congrats on the room!! Looking forward to that picture tour!! Always love a good Oasis blog, and I gotta say, your families packing game is WAY ahead of schedule. I'm lucky if we have the suitcase out 3 days before the cruise, and it's not zipped up until about midnight the night before we leave! Edited: had to fix my incorrect spelling of "Your"!!
  17. Best bet is CruiseCritic, there is a forum for each cruise line. Not nearly as specific and not always as friendly as this page, but it's something!
  18. I think you should take the room and not feel guilty...just because she may not be in a wheelchair doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to be in a more accessible room to make her walk to and from the elevators a little easier. She will still, at least, require a little assistance getting around or not able to walk long distances in one shot. Go for it, enjoy the extra room and the lack of steps to get around the room..even the one getting IN the room, which I have tripped over a few times myself!
  19. This is how I feel about the buffet...the food is prepped and out. It's not getting put away to use tomorrow, may as well try a little of everything if you want!
  20. I assume it's an attempt to stop waste, people ordering 2-3 entrees and eating a bite of each one. If they hold up on the 2nd one, you're more likely to eat all of the first one before asking for the 2nd one, and not even getting a 3rd one.
  21. Yep. they got us on Oasis in October, also. We also did the "share" thing and it worked, ordered 1 each for the 3 of us then told him we were going to share a 4th plate to all try it and he always brought it out. He said they can bring multiple apps per person, but only one entree.
  22. I follow a performer from aqua 80, she didn't mention anyone being hurt and still posting shows regularly, so I assume it wasn't major
  23. My last cruise did the same thing. They showed a day apart until a few days before the actual check in
  24. Chances are there are some more rooms than that, the GTY rooms are basically assigned, Travel agents have holds, and you would have to search all room sizes (2,3,4) to see what was actually available. Like Mike said, if you have a barcode- give it a scan!!
