We always have a printed paper copy of the Set Sail Paper. Just for the odd chance of Internet not working, phone somehow getting lost/broken(odd chance), or something else. Just super easy to have that paper copy in hand.

Utopia Of the Seas

Within the article it appears Icon would find Home At Terminal G or Shared births at MSC's new terminal to the East of Terminal A. I would wonder if this gets approved, Does royal then plan an upgrade to Port Everglades terminal??.... New Terminal G and Berth 10 It calls for building a new Terminal G for Royal Caribbean Group's exclusive use and Berth 10, where the company would share the new terminal under construction by MSC Cruises. The agreement also covers the continued development of Royal Caribbean's PortMiami headquarters, put on hold during the pandemic, and a lease extension there through at least 2072 New CTG able to handle Icon-class ships Royal Caribbean's existing Terminal G has capacity for ships with about 4,000 passengers. The new CTG will be able to handle Icon-class ships — cruising's largest — with capacity for 7,000-plus passengers. It will be built to the county's sustainable buildings ordinance with solar panels and have a multi-level shared parking garage with ground-level intermodal facility, connecting roadways and a provisioning building. It will occupy both the existing site and PortMiami’s 1963-era administrative building, to be demolished. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/ports-destinations/miami-dade-weighs-new-royal-caribbean-terminal-hq-expansion -

Didn't see anything about that, thanks. I just don't see China happening for a long time. Just too much uncertainty yet. -

I honestly can't see Royal choosing anything out of China until they can prove that they won't lock down on a whim and collapse a whole itinerary of bookings and revenue. Especially when all cruise lines are digging themselves out of the BS they had to go through for almost 2 years. (I personally don't think Royal goes back to China for a very long time. If they are securing bookings and running 90-100% capacity with all the homeports now, I don't know why you risk it.) Sadly I could Royal and others pulling back slightly on Australian/ New Zealand Cruises due to the incredibly strict Environmental policies of Bio-Fouling. -

Yeah that is what I was thinking too. I know Matt has mentioned it right when it was announced but was thinking there would be spy picks floating out there per usual and i haven't seen any. I love the Big ships for all of the Features. after these next two we have booked we will be going to Mariner, Indy, or Freedom and doing the suite route to get up to Diamond cheaper with the Suites on those. Suite on those with 2X points is the same as a balcony on Oasis or Quantum class. We will hit diamond on our 3rd cruise. -
Has anyone heard or seen any new updates on that ship? I know all the buzz is around Icon and will be for the foreseeable future. Just like looking ahead at that ship since it is being built.

This is MY honest opinion, I'm not saying don't vacation at all. Most people don't have the money to just throw around on the great risks associated with a flight the day of Embarkation. Yes there is the insurance aspect, but I don't like the thought of people relying on the Insurance for that. If most people lose out on a vacation because of missed flight for a cruise, that probably won't be able to have another cruise until the next year. This is reality.
-
Yes the insurance is there to be used when things fall apart. I whole heartedly agree with that. But doing something that can be easily avoided is what just blows my mind. If work doesn't allow for an extra day off I guess I wouldn't book the cruise just to be on the safe side unless I lived within driving distance of the port. Just common sense I guess.

There's still flight delays today from yesterday. Even if you were the 1st flight out, you are not guarantied to make the next one. The insurance claim for that is really disingenuous for lack of ability to plan ahead. I'm going on Vacation and not wanting to get reimbursed for not making a flight unless it is completely unavoidable. This insurance example is basically the same as saying I have car insurance because I can't pay attention and drive distracted.

Last cruises we have taken, we have stayed there. 5-8 dollar 5 minute uber ride to Port. Bayside market place is 4-5 blocks away to the south. 15 dollar Uber ride to Lincoln Road(awesome place to walk, they turned one street about 6 blocks long into shops and food places)/Miami South beach. Love the view from the hotel.

Is there a way to find cheap suite level cruises?
Midwest Cruiser replied to Morganno's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would look towards Freedom, Indy, and Mariner for the Sailings you need. Generally Less expensive suites to get the points. -
@CJS2766 We have always stayed at The Marriott Biscayne Bay. Great hotel, go to the Marriott website and look at the hotel and then click Deals. We upgrade to the Catch me by The Bay package. Attached where to find the deals at and our view of the port.

@Ampurp85 With all of the Cancelled and delayed flights and with this huge issue this morning, I would absolutely not advise anyone to fly in the day of Embarkation, 1 day early minimum. @CableKC Easy to spend a century note on a hotel then missing the Embarkation. Update 3 is exactly why you don't fly the day of.

@jp1 Use whenever, No smoking on balcony unless you plan on an early departure from the ship, As mentioned above by @CruisingNewb about balcony open and opening the door to the hallway, also make sure you have the handle in the locked position(air conditioning won't work if not in lock position). Also if you plan to hop on the good foot and do a bad thing, enjoy the motion of the ocean, Enjoy your birthday suit..... there are cameras that point down the side of the ship.... Just saying. Hahaha

On our Oasis Cruise, are you boarding 1st?

Reserving Shows Pre-Cruise Back?
Midwest Cruiser replied to ZBrady's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Think it was little more than 55 day out and we were able to book our Aqua, Ice, and Comedy shows on Oasis OTS for our February 26th 2023 sailing. Have been on Oasis already and there is no way you could get me into the CATS show. Wife went by herself the last cruise and loves Broadway shows, she didn't make it half way through. Wish they would change that show. -
Boarding on Embarkation Day
Midwest Cruiser replied to Midwest Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I guess I am always antsy to get stuff done ahead of time when checkin on the app opens up 45 days out from sailing. I usually do it as soon as possible but if i didn't get the early checkin time i would be willing to test and see if it is strictly followed or a general guideline. Also @matt, to you have a updated list of things that the check in process has on it: like you sign into the App or online and fill out what forms, do you upload your Drivers license, passport? I know you needed to have a recent picture uploaded. I have searched the forums and cant seem to find a topic or post on what all you have to fill out. Its been 3 years since our last cruise(unfortunately) and I just cant remember what all is needed. Trying to help enlighten our FB group.
