  1. Not going to lie, it’s underwhelming when you place it in the Icon Class. I think if they were all about the Star concept, they should have gone with Superstar of the Seas because that sounds more Icon-ic than just one of millions of stars.
  2. Yeah, honestly I see a bunch of people being skeptical of the concept, but I do think that there's money to be made in trying to outflank the priciness of DCL in the PC market here. A family could come to Orlando for a few days, do Universal and/or Disney and then do a 3/4 night cruise. Best of both worlds. Those who are just about the ship can do a B2B.
  3. Given the art that the Royal Caribbean casting call used, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was an adaption of the Royal Shakespeare Company version that first was staged in 1987. It is a faithful adaptation of the film and uses most of the songs from it. That would be much cheaper than the ALW version. https://www.concordtheatricals.com/p/65772/the-wizard-of-oz-rsc-1987
  4. I don't know. They call it an original production, but that can mean more than one thing: either an entirely new thing from the ground up or a new staging of something that already exists. For clarity, they should have called it a new musical if it was the former. That said, I think it's probably the ALW show that would be the least costly for them to acquire as it never made it to Broadway but it also has huge name recognition. Given that Phantom is closing this year on Broadway, I wouldn't be surprised to see that pop up on a RCI ship in the future as it has huge name recognition and it has been a consistent crowd pleaser. I do think that being on Broadway is the stopper for Wicked's availability. Usually the rights holders for musicals lock that down when it's still playing on Broadway, the one exception I can think of is Chicago when that ran, but nothing can kill that show.
  5. I would sail upon the ocean Make a great commotion If I did not give a rip. But I won't steal from the galleys Like those who ride Carnival's seas To play this Iconic ship.
  6. Royal Caribbean Productions on FB announced auditions for the Broadway style show on Icon. It's The Wizard of Oz. It's unclear if this means the Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Webber version of Oz, but the copy mentions a "brand new production", so perhaps not. The Wizard of Oz is being reimagined like never before in this brand new production, get ready to walk the yellow brick road and follow the brightest of Rainbows! There’s no place like Royal Caribbean. Zero people are upset that it will be for a third installment of The Effectors.
  7. Easy come, easy go. Wish they could have just given us The Key, though!
  8. Late Dislike But like I dislike it only because it was nice to have the room cleaned and turned down seemingly any time I left the stateroom for any particular length of time. I don't think it's necessary at all, but it was appreciated and I made sure I tipped my attendant accordingly for his attentiveness and effort.
  9. We'll be going on Wonder in a couple weeks on our honeymoon cruise and for a few days before that we'll be at Walt Disney World staying at Saratoga Springs. How much time should I allow to get there by car service for a 10:30 boarding time at Port Canaveral?
  10. I think Mason Jar will be my first stop on Embarkation Day because I want to have brunch there and we're on the UDP. I've heard tell that even when you can't book it at the dining reservation kiosk on the Royal Promenade for brunch that day that you will often have better luck in person at the Mason Jar itself. Has this been the experience of others?
  11. I'll believe only what they communicate to me directly at this point in the form of a refund. Because CS said one thing Saturday and a completely different thing today to those who reached out. So who knows? Hopefully they'll reach out sooner rather than later because my cruise begins on Wonder in 2 weeks.
  12. Sure, I understand that. And I’ll get over it, I suppose. But it is disappointing because it would have been special for our Honeymoon. I do think the copy difference is telling, though, but I could be wrong.
  13. This will be our honeymoon cruise! Very much looking forward to it! We are getting married the week before at Rockefeller Center in New York. Who else is on this sailing?
  14. This would be very disappointing if everyone’s packages get cancelled. I also don’t buy their explanation that it was a mistake to have even put that package on the website because they had clearly stripped out the Celebrity branding for the internet package and replaced it with generic copy and also created a whole new category just for this in the Royal cruise planner. Like I can believe the pricing was a mistake, but the whole concept being on Royal? Nah. This was planned, but they fumbled it and are making something up to save face.
  15. It’s not an individual package (as it’s for two), so this doesn’t apply.
