    If you add up all your points, what do you end up with?

    there was a conversion table used back when the points changed from per cruise to per day, that should have effected your point total.

    1 => 8 => GOLD
    2 => 15 => GOLD
    3 => 22 => GOLD
    4 => 29 => GOLD
    5 => 38 => PLATINUM
    6 => 45 => PLATINUM
    7 => 52 => PLATINUM
    8 => 69 => EMERALD
    9 => 76 => EMERALD
    10 => 83 => DIAMOND
    11 => 90 => DIAMOND
    12 => 97 => DIAMOND
    13 => 104 => DIAMOND
    14 => 111 => DIAMOND
    15 => 118 => DIAMOND

    so that one cruise should count as 8 points if you add up all your points.

    You are right! My total points are 37, which when added up using my Mariner cruise as 8 points instead of one adds up perfectly. Now it makes sense, thank you!

    I am now officially platinum!

  2. I was on this same cruise but did not have nearly the same bad experience. Yes I feel like Royal should have done more to go to the Endicott arm even with the emergency, it was still on our itinerary, and the cruise director mentioned that we were going there the night before. I have read about Quantum having engine issues, but the glacier was definitely still planned, I don't think RC pulled a bait and switch, just an unfortunate medical issue that I do believe they could have done better about. The ship hit 20 knots a few times so I don't think the issues were apparent just yet. I believe the changes in the plan start in August.

    I found the food in the windjammer and main dining room to be very good, the windjammer was always very busy but my family of 4 never had problems finding a table, sometimes it just required waiting a couple minutes. Finding seating for a huge party will always be difficult. There also was the two70 cafe which was also tasty.

    I heard about the person having a heart attack and passing away which is very sad, but I am not so sure how you can blame that on RC. I believe it was in skagway which does have a long pier and we were second in line, however they had plenty of free golf carts to shuttle people down. We don't know if that was the reason for the heart attack. My mom has health issues and can't walk very far and had no issues getting a golf cart.

    I did think that the elevators seemed slow and went in weird order sometimes, but i chalked it up to just lots of people. I heard there were 4700 people on board.

    The current Quantum itinerary wasn't even scheduled for Dawes Glacier. Unless you meant Tracy Arm Fjord, which look like it was skipped, but seeing as she's sailing at 20 kn, I don't think her engines are of concern.

    This is interesting because my Cruise Compass from 7/22/22 does say Endicott Arm/Dawes Glacier and the cruise director had mentioned us going to it that morning. However when we woke up at 5am that morning we were already in Juneau caused by the kid breaking his arm like I mentioned in my previous post. The emergency alarm went off around 1130pm, as we were in Music Hall we couldnt quite understand what it was saying but ended up hearing the whole story until later.

    I'm currently ON MY CRUISE with RC on Quantum of the Seas and we were just re-routed from Dawes Glacier.  I had never heard or received any information about this issue.  I'm SO FREAKING UPSET that I've spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON THIS SPECIFIC CRUISE JUST TO SEE THE GLACIERS for them just to SNATCH IT ALL AWAY AND KEEP MY MONEY.  THEY ARE A SCAM!  SHADY!  Their own crew member admitted that this engine trouble has happened at least 4 times - 2 engines blew up! This is UNACCEPTABLE.  I WANT A FULL REFUND.

    I was also on Quantum when this happened, the reason the glacier was skipped was because some idiot teenager decided it would be a good idea to jump down the stairs and they ended up with a compound fracture broken arm, which necessitated going to juneau early for medical. The captain mentioned it once, but was really never mentioned on the morning shows or ever again. I wrote in my survey that I was disappointed that they didn't try and do more to either undock and go back or find a way to not inconvenience the thousands of other guests over the actions of one person, especially when a bad broken arm isn't good, but isn't life threatening.

    You can bring a 12 pack, per stateroom, of 17 oz. sodas on board. In reality, my wife and I could have each brought on a 12 pack. They are not really enforcing the 12 pack rule in the 2 Ports we have used lately. We are on the BOTS also for a B2B starting 3 Jan. Hope to see you there.

    BTW - flying in just hours before a cruise is very brave. Our last flight into Tampa was delayed 36 hours on the way back from Seattle. Yesterday, they cancelled a slew of flights.  Good Luck!

    Is it always ok to bring a 12 pack on a cruise, or just nowadays?

  6. Was on Navigator out of LA 3 weeks ago.

    1. They did provide one mask per person in the stateroom when we got there. We had brought our own so never used it, I imagine its possible to get more.

    2. Mask wearing was pretty well enforced, but also most people were wearing them anyways.  I accidently forgot to put mine back on when getting up to get more food in the windjammer and was reminded by a worker pretty quickly.

  7. I had my CVS antigen test which I had booked 2 months prior, canceled the saturday before my Monday cruise. Luckily I was able to find another but had to pay $120 for it.

    I didn't know about the at home ones which RC offers, and would do that had I known. If I go on another cruise when covid protocols are still in place, I will definitely be doing the at home one.
