  1. people go to disney world for three days and spend that too. its a disney vacation, while i wouldnt pay that as my kids are older, there are those that want it. It's disney world on the water. If thats not your cup of tea, RC is much better. FYI while allure doesnt have the water slides she is a great ship. And compared to disney you can splurge for a suite for short cruise....or not and just get a great deal for a qucik getaway.
  2. I think the days of finding cheaper prices after booking are over. The algorithm raises prices as it gets closer and rooms get booked. Last minute deals seldom have the best rooms. On my transatlantic on odyssey and owners loft dropped and they 25k per guest. (grand loft can be had for much cheaper price of 22k a person).
  3. I have been tracking it for months for our august cruise and it is not pretty, we will wait and see. The saving grace its its only one way, we want to spend a few days in rome before and would rather use the money in italy if its going to stay at these prices.
  4. were booked on Oddyssey coming back in october...ship seems pretty full, i imagine as the pay date gets closr that could change.....
  5. when yo stopped in florence and went to CInque terre did you do this on your own or throught RC?
  6. I can totally understand that, but even below suite class there is only one room in the balcony class that holds more than 4 and it has one bathroom. Getting ready for dinner could be tricky with six people and one bathroom. The Surfside suite looks really nice with the split bathroom but the other sleeping spaces are bunks not a bed (an only holds 4) I agree that they made choices, but on such a massive ship and compared to what's on an oasis class they could have had a few more. I have the choice which ship to sail just wish that icon was on of them.
  7. There are only two rooms (ultimate family townhouse and RLS - one each) in suite class that hold more than 4. in non suite class there is the family infinite ocean view balcony that does hold six assuming you can fit all six in 285 square ft (it might better to sleep on the pool beds in the back of the ship). Just saying for a family ship there are not many options and booking two rooms becomes exorbinantly expensive compared to even other RC options. While this will likely change in the future at least in pricing as newer ships come out it is still disappointing.
  8. Anyone disappointed in the lack of suites for families larger than 4 people on icon of the seas.... as much as they tout it as a "family" ship where are these rooms????
  9. Apparently on icon you can kind of do that with Junior suites, there are ones that are sea class and ones that are sky class which isnt on any other ship....
  10. make sure to book those 2br gs when it posts as they go fast esepcially on the higher demand iteneraries, they have been building fewer of them even on the newer ships even in the same class. I think oddyssey only has two. we did one on oasis and it was great. Although i have always felt that they should be a star class suite, what is the real differecne between that and an aqua 2br???
  11. I totally agree, we did radiance for Alaska, and in August we booked a GS and the next room balcony on odyssey. We figured well be off the ship so much that sky class was enough. We're not getting the kids internet either.
  12. I did sky on oasis in February 2022, the concierge reached out to me two weeks prior. I was actually able through him to reserve playmakers' private room for the Superbowl for my kids. We ate mostly in coastal kitchen besides that.... concierge was super nice and very accommodating.
  13. if anything there should be more or special benefits on the older ships not offered on the newer ones, this might help to attract people to those ships. Unfortunately with sales through the roof despite the much higher prices i doubt we will see any changes.
  14. Thanks for taking us with you....just curious but how many suites/families was marla handling on the cruise? And was it just her?
  15. I've done the Beach club twice once the food and service was great the second time the food was ok and service was bad. I bought both times on Black Friday and got goods deals based on the old prices. We like how quiet it is and the pool and drink service. We've done this both times on cruises without the kids. I totally here where you are coming from though.
  16. If it is just two of you, I recommend the beach club ...super nice and chill also faces sunset so you have the sun longer. Drink service is nice as well.
  17. I dont get that, if all the food on the island is included (other than beach club) does it really change anything?? ive always done the beach club and gotten the kids (freeloaders lol) when they are with us the waterpark tickets...you might have changed my mind with the waterpark cabana....was the food and drink service easy and sever around often?
  18. Was the tour only for you or star class or anyone who on the ship who purchased?
  19. We actually have RLS for Mediterranean city and beaches out of the UK on anthem we're from NYC and it's our this time in them first time in star class. Still looking forward especially since it's 14 nights.
  20. I've done sky class on oasis, and am sky on odyssey in August...I do like sky class. We're six so it gets complicated. We're really looking forward to the star class but have some time to wait ....
  21. Both our first and second star class cruises are coming up on quantum class ships....I guess we'll have to book a third on an oasis class to try it....
  22. #jealous....our next cruise is odyssey in August so here hoping they have it.
  23. Unless you are on the same ship, not all izumis have ramen. I was on anthem in December and was there for the ramen and they didn't have it on that ship.
  24. Yes, he has a laptop with him, I didn't even have to wait. Also when picking your lunch time make sure it works with your dinner time and show schedule....
