  1. We are taking the Symphony out of Barcelona in a couple weeks. We are trying to decide what our best options are for our luggage. On the day we arrive, the day before the cruise departs, we are staying at Le Meridien Barcelona. However, we are not planning to stay additional nights in Barcelona when we return. We want to be able to explore the city a little before our evening flight home, but don’t want to be dragging suitcases all over the city. I tried calling Le Meridien and they said they might be able to store it temporarily, but is highly dependent on whether they have room that day. Are there any suggested options for a service that would bring our luggage to the airport or store it for us temporarily near the boat so that we can pick it up before we go to the airport ourselves?
  2. We are looking at the train from the port station to Roma. Looks like there is an 8:42 and 8:57am. Has anyone had experience with those times? Earlier? Do they work with disembarking and all? Do you need to buy tickets in advance? Anyone have better experience with the bus options?
  3. We are working on planning our day to day activities for the 7 night Mediterranean cruise leaving Barcelona on the Symphony. Its a cruise for my wife and I as well as our 8yo and 4yo boys. As we look at the various ports, we are trying to determine if some of the options for trains, buses, etc are feasible to do on our own instead of relying on the RC Packages that are in some cases extremely expensive. Some of the key questions we are hoping for some guidance on: For the ports (Mallorca, Marseille, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Naples) does the Symphony dock at the port or do we require a tender? Specifically in La Spezia (Florence/Pisa) - We are interested in heading to Florence to walk around in the city on my own. We found bus tours that starts at 9:30am, goes for 8 hours and includes 4-5 hours of free time in Florence. My concern is what time we can actually plan to be off the boat. According to CruiseMapper, we dock in La Spezia at 8am on Wednesday, June 14th. Is it likely we would be off the boat and to the bus at "Largo Michele Fiorillo" by the 9:30am departure time? If the example above is cutting it too close, does anyone know if there is an option through RCL that would ONLY be a bus to Florence that would be more directly tied to the ship's schedule? It seems all the tours they offer are either Florence and Pisa combined or are full guided tours which we are not looking for. Lastly, any recommendations for Rome (Civitavecchia)? We want to do a tour of the Coliseum, but the excursions through RCL seem again extremely overpriced. Has anyone had specifically good luck with another provider? Thanks in advance!!
  4. Does anyone know if they are open to making substitutions or alterations to the menu item for someone with restrictive taste or diet?
  5. We are going on the June 11th departure of Symphony out of Barcelona. I have read all about the new menus and read some samples of them online, but is there a way to know for sure which night will be which menu on my specific sailing? I also know my cruise is sold as a departure from Barcelona as well from Rome, so how do I know which night is which with the menus if they do follow a common order? Thanks in advance!!
