  1. Going back many years, movies that played in the onboard theater cycled constantly on your in-cabin tv. My daughters are excited about a few that are likely to be played on our cruise next week on Oasis (THANK YOU JohnK6404 for your blog!!!) and we hope to watch a few of them on day 3 in our CS, as we do not intend on leaving the boat at Pt Canaveral. Is that a valid plan or should we arrange our schedules to be in the theater for those movies we've just GOT TO see? (<- insert teenaged emphasis here with the "GOT TO" 🤪).

Second, we have dinner scheduled for day 1 at Chops. With Sail Away being pushed to 6pm, is a 6:45pm reservation time safe for being on deck to enjoy the Statue of Liberty and trip under the Verrazano bridge? Also, does Chops really take 2 full hours?

Thank you in advance for your help and I'm sure more questions will follow!

We used CVS for the rapid antigen test in the afternoon

We used Walgreens for the PCR test that same morning

It took 45 minutes from the time we took the test at CVS to get our results.  The technician called us and five minutes later we got the email, both negative.

Walgreens emailed my husband the day of our cruise, so three days later.  I did not get my Walgreens results until 6 days later.

If anyone wants details on how each place operates or anything let me know,  we live in NC.

Walgreens only allowed us to schedule 2 days from the time we needed.  CVS allowed me to schedule it a month out.

MicDay, we live in Raleigh - our CVS is only showing 2 weeks out. Am I following the wrong path?

  3. So we sail out of Bayonne on Oct 17th, headed to Canaveral then the Bahamas. When we first booked Allure (and subsequently Oasis), we had anticipated summer weather for both formals and daywear so had prepped with shorts, tank tops and lighter summer evening ware. We have always sailed out of Florida so not sure what weather conditions to expect for the first 2 days at sea. Has anyone sailed that time out of NJ? Would you suggest jeans or warmer tops? Thank you for your experience!

No. I’m still in the crown loft suite. Any upgrade would be to a significantly more expensive suite.

BrianB, we had 2 bids for our sailing on Oasis (10/17) - one for the 2 br Aqua and one for the Panoramic. I just checked and both bids are gone. I attempted to access the link through the email and it pops an error. I didn't receive the 'reservation modification' email but DID receive another email suggesting we consider bidding via RoyalUp. Guess we're back to square one 😞

Great info. I am on Mariner Sept 17 from port Canaveral. My time is 1:00 but I found this on the crown and anchor society webpage. And I am in a Suite so I’m hoping I can shop a little early.

    Flexible Arrival

A spaced and scheduled boarding process has been implemented with everyone’s health in mind for a smooth experience. Flexible Arrival allows our Pinnacle Club and Suite guests to check in at the terminal no earlier than one hour before the 30-minute arrival window you selected ahead of your sailing, or one hour after.

Beachy, would you please share the url for that info? I can't seem to find it. Thank you for the info!

I am having a car service bring us to and take us from our cruise on the 26th through Oct 3rd at Port Liberty in NJ. My question is with the ship arriving to the port on Oct. 3rd at 6:00am what time should I tell the car service to pick us up. I know this isn't an exact time but, hopefully with the experience of past cruisers I can give them a ballpark time.

Would you mind sharing which company you are using? We're finalizing our plans and would appreciate a few ideas for transport between the airport and the pier.

Yes, it also works for milkshakes.

When did that change? I didn't think you could order from Johnny Rockets (beyond breakfast) unless you paid the cover charge - then the milkshakes were a la carte even beyond the cover charge. If this has changed, that would be amazing as my youngest loves their shakes!

  8. We're booked for the excursion on our Oct 17 cruise on Oasis. They have literally cancelled every other excursion (Disney Springs/Orlando, Atlantis-sea lions & waterpark/Nassau and it's only 3 ports) so fingers crossed that we get to enjoy that experience. It actually made Jeopardy, complete with a picture: "Big Major Cay in this multi-island nation near Florida is famous for its beach of swimming pigs" - pretty cool! 😉

So far, I have been making all final payments and then cancelling once they announce the "new" protocols (7 such cruises since the restart).  If you cancel before they announce the protocols you will get an FCC vs cash refund.  ...but what I still don't know is whether we can ask for a cash refund for those cruise itineraries that include ports of call where it has already been announced that unvaccinated are not welcome - but the protocols have not yet been announced.  That has still not been answered that I am aware of.

Trying to wrap my head around this so my apologies if this was previously discussed. Here is our situation: first cruise was cancelled and elected to take the FCC towards a sailing on a different ship in October. If we decide that the COVID protocol for our October sailing is unacceptable, can we receive a cash refund? I was under the impression that if you took a FCC, future cancellations (regardless of the reason) had to be in the form of another FCC.

  10. We're sailing on Oasis (10/17) and one by one, our shore excursions are being cancelled. We received the cancellation email for our Orlando Outlets/Disney Springs a few weeks ago and today our Sea Lion/day at Atlantis was cancelled. Based on a few other posts, I expected the Orlando cancellation but was surprised by the Atlantis one. Does anyone know if we are even permitted to visit that resort? I was aware of the vaccination requirement and several other excursions are still available, but my daughters were very much looking forward to a day at their water park (in conjunction with the Sea Lion experience) and some time in their casino. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the heads up!!

I just completed check in for all of my Oasis cruises in Sept and Oct! They all opened at once! Got the earliest time to arrive.

    Thanks again!

Hey BrianB! How do you determine if it is the 'earliest time': are other times grayed out? We just checked in for our Oasis (10/17) and the first slot listed was 12:30, which seemed kind of late. Just curious!

Jmccaffrey, how did you determine there is a cap on the amount of people on the cruise? I have assumed there would be but haven't seen anything in writing...
