  1. Transferring from Civitavecchia Train Station to the ship is easy, hop on one of the red/green busses. 3€/way. If I'd stay in central rome, I'd pick a train to get to the port. Nothing is easier and cheaper than that.
  2. By reading the RCL page once again, I saw this indepth: Unvaccinated kids age 2 to 11 must show a negative test result for a PCR test (not antigen) taken no more than 3 days before boarding day. AND Per U.S. CDC guidance, only vaccinated guests may present self-administered telehealth COVID-19 test results at the terminal to satisfy the pre-cruise testing requirement. Supervised telehealth tests are not accepted for unvaccinated guests – only for vaccinated guests -> our daughter with 10y, not vaccinated, has to have a live in person PCR test....... I did not yet see this combination
  3. We've been on Odyssey four weeks ago. Keep in mind to pick a suitable disembarkation time (eg 8am) - check with guest services early en route to let them assign it. Disembarkation with all our luggage was easy, no hassle, not crowded. We picked one of the citavecchia shuttles to the train station (3€/pp, kids free) and travelled with trains (interchanging at Trastevere) to Fuimucino. Arrived about 2:30 after disembarking right at the airport train station. Checking in (had OLCI before) was easy (but we are *A Gold) and security no problem. We had plenty of time for lounge and arrived early at the gate. Departure time for the flight was 1:30pm, btw. The only problem I assume at Rome airport could be security lines. Other, we did not experience. Caro
  4. Nice links, thanks Patty.... CVS charges how much? I cannot it open from Europe. What do you think about the exposure trick? Does it work for foreigners?
  5. I am truly not surprised, having witnessed last cruise how some guests took part in a passengers' conversation with a crew member, which was truly none of their business. But hej, they simply wanted to help the crew member before it was harassed by the other passenger. And hej, they started loud harrassing this guest and using the f* words. Nonetheless, it was simply a conversation from the one guest with the crew member. Guys, stick to your stuff
  6. As posted here we're on a road trip with last station Adventure OTS.
  7. What do you think about PCR Test for kiddos - as RC states, all kids over 2 have to bring a PCR-Test (if not vaccinated). As I am browsing the net, most walk-ins only provide tests for 3+. I think we are stuck
  8. Does "Judi" also have a recommendation for PCR-Tests for the kids unvaccinated?
  9. We are on the 4nights cruise from Cape Liberty in August on Adventure OTS. Our unvaccinated kids (2 to 11 years old) have to take a PCR-Test, us adults a Rapid Antigen Test - as the Royal policy states till now. Being europeans without american insurance or passport, is there a chance to get free or cheap test? All I found was like 150$ for PCR on the regular sites.... Rapid antigen test would be Abbott BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test via eMed. Or do you have other ideas? Location is gonna be the Hudson valley, from Lake George down to Poughkeepsie, NY. Thanks Caro
  10. Where does the ship moore at Halifax?
  11. We've been on Odyssey two weeks ago and they had the first showing times per reservation, and the later ones (4th and 5th day) on a first come basis. But don't worry, if you check the app after boarding, there shouldn't be a problem. Showgirl is a must see!
  12. Here are some inputs about cities we've been: - Mallorca/Palma: A must see! Walk leisurely through the City of Palma, spend some time shopping (they have all major european brands and small island style shops there), have a lunch at Bar Café Coto. You can use the bus for low price to get around. Check out St. Catalina, the market hall and all the spots the city has to offer. No need to roam outside Palma! - Rome: As said, at least 1h travel time to the city with train. But worth it! Pick some spots to visit, choose of the overpriced tourist trap cafés and feel some italian spirit - Naples: We did not leave the ship. Ugh. Polluted air, congestions everywhere. Trips to capri pricey. Carotthat
  13. Already scrolled through that, thanks
  14. Looking for an alaska cruise also next year - I am truly confused of all the itineries. Which one would you suggest for a first-alaska-timer? Carotthat
  15. Arrival on the day before is strongly recommended! Our luggage with LH was lost on connection and we could pick it up 11 hours later. Imagine this with an imminent cruise......
  16. It was like you said: took Ted/green bus from train station to terminal (3€), gave luggage to crew, several checks and questions. We were on the ship 1 hour after arrival of the train in civitavecchia Impressive organisation!
  17. ...saying, the Terminal is close to the ship - the Rome Cruise Terminal I was wondering whether to check in at the terminal and then take another shuttle bus to the ship....
  18. Hello @FionaMG, just asking about the procedure at the port Civitavecchia: Did your shared shuttle drop you off at the RCT to check in? And then you took the free shuttle bus to dock 12 (or another one)? Thanks, Carotthat
  19. This confused me also some time ago - Patty resolved it by pointing my eye directly to the page Let my copy that for you: Unvaccinated kids age 2 to 11 must show a negative test result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 1 day before boarding day.
  20. What should a religious exemption be? This is getting completely weird. Can I have a religious exemption not for stopping at a red light?
  21. You'll find at least enough information about the port (and the trains going there) here: https://civitavecchia.portmobility.it/en/port-civitavecchia-guide-cruise-passengers
  22. The whole "sale" is a scam - compared to last november, prices have gone up skyhigh. But who wonders, as the cruise industry is struggling....
