  1. There was also Caribbean night in January, the waiters dressed in Caribbean vests and danced the Macarena.
  2. We’re here! It’ll be my mom and I, and my two boys. The kids don’t hang out with us much so if you see us around playing dominoes, stop by and join in! We’re big fans of Mexican Train and 42.
  3. We’ll be on this cruise as well. Welcome back after the pandemic! Our first one back was last September, it’s so nice to be on board again. I’ve got two boys, just shy of 16 and 13 on the cruise. We’re going with another family that will have two kids around the same age and an older, just turned 18. How old are your kids?
  4. If I go on a cruise with a friend of the family who will absolutely buy the beverage package because it makes sense for her drinking habits on vacation does that mean everyone in the room (adults) also have to buy the package? The answer to this question is the only thing preventing us from all booking together. I’m 2-3 drinks per day person, she’s someone who can really handle her alcohol. So me spending that additional $500 or so wouldn’t make sense, and I don’t want her to have to pay out of pocket for every drink because she can’t have the package if we don’t. Edited to change the title so no one thinks I’m judging people who drink more than me.
  5. Oh man, I remember that walk, it was quite lengthy. My dad has MS and there was some way that he was able to get to the drop off point without walking. It was a shuttle or something. He and my mom took it and I walked with my kids.
  6. I put all of my daily vitamins in a pill case separated by days, no issues at all. I do the same for my kids. Three different pill cases with anywhere from 5-11 daily vitamins in each day, no problem.
  7. Same on the tall kids. My oldest has been six inches taller than his peers since he was about three years old. He’s 15 and 6’2” now, so we got a lot of people looking for different behavior from what they thought was a much older child.
  8. Very strict. They are associated with the cruise line and will have his age and won’t issue a ticket or wrist band for him to ride.
  9. Yes, that was exactly my thinking. But when I think about it I realize there must be some algorithm based on historical cancellation/upgrade/rooms left trends.
  10. Those panoramic ocean view are incredible!
  11. This is what we do when my husband comes with us, two rooms, one adult and one child in each room, but we put the kids in the room together for all intents and purposes. We don’t do GTY though, we like having them nearby (connecting, across the hall, or side by side). If one of them were an adult I’d be good with it, but I don’t think I’d be comfortable with my 15 year old on the other side of the ship. That’s just me though, you know your kids best. Good luck!
  12. While I was considering whether or not to bid on the SOVB on Allure for April 16 I was going to try to look at the price of just booking it as a mock booking. I couldn’t find the room anywhere, not under balcony, not under ocean view. Is there something I’m doing wrong or do they just keep some rooms back for people to bid on?
  13. Definitely! I’ll post when I find out either way.
  14. Update: I bid on the spacious OV Balcony. I bid just over the minimum. I'm not expecting anything to come from it, but we do have Boardwalk view balcony rooms in September, so I'll get to see those either way.
  15. Just an update: I went in and requested OBC for all of our cruises coming up. April, September, November, and May of next year. I also requested for the room under my husband’s name on the September cruise. All were applied to each sailing today, no issues whatever. Thanks for your help!
  16. I have two teens at the moment and they love Explorer and Oasis (we’ve done Allure and Harmony). I asked which they liked better and they both said they wouldn’t be able to pick. I’d probably go with Oasis just because there is a bit of a boardwalk feel with the carousel and all. Also zip lining is fun!
  17. Yes doable, yes stressful. Probably it would be fine, but you’d maybe be better off with a post noon flight. The fog can be a real issue depending on the time of year.
  18. It’s really a great cabin and location. I love watching people, feeling like I’m always a part of something, even if I’m just looking on. And it will be nice to watch the aqua show when it happens. It got canceled so many times last month that we never got to see it, the water was just too rough. I think I’m going to stick with it. I might have to not attend one of the silent discos just so I can watch the people dance.
  19. You're right. We really like the location of the room right now.
