  1. I'm not in the travel industry, but it is by invite. The only thing mentioned by the invite was i'm a crown and anchor member and I have a RC credit card. The fact I live in Houston may have played a role. And I've never done one of these so I was curious myself how it would be.....
  2. We will be in star loft on December 23rd, so we will wave as we get off :).
  3. Is anyone else going on the 4 night trade event cruise November 9-13th from Galveston to Costa Maya? The first paid cruise is a 7 nighter leaving on November 13th. We received an invite for the 4 night event a couple weeks ago. Obviously, we said yes, but have never been on one of the trade events before and was just curious. We are supposed to get our cabin assignment by the end of September, so even thought we don't yet know what kind or where our cabin is, it should be a fun event regardless. Cheers! Tim
  4. Ugh, that didn't look good, we are scheduled to sail on Harmony on 6/12, I hope that didn't cause a tone of damage to the ship.
  5. So far Stepan has been very responsive and e-mailed us back sometimes with in the hour, but no more than the next day. He did confirm that the Star class WOW bands will be available for our sailing and every request has been granted so far. (Although we haven't asked for anything too crazy :)) We are now 3 weeks out and getting very excited!
  6. Hi all, I'm going to try my hand at live blogging this trip. Who's going: Tim (Me) and Kelli (my wife of 17 years!) Cabin: 8330 A1: 2 bedbroom ATS We got our Genie questioner almost 60 days out on 4/13. I won't go over it as it has been covered countless times. We got our Genie email yesterday at 28 days out and our Genie will be Stepan! We responded right away and he already emailed us back this morning and seems like he will be a wonderful Genie! (This is our second star class experience with the first one being on Oasis in December of this past year) He did ask that we prebook Hibachi and Chef's table as he can't request until the day before. I know some have been disappoint by this, but we just went with it and did as requested. We are pretty easy going and this was our list of initial requests. Dining: We are travelling with just the two of us, so no worries about vaccination challenges. We are foodies and love everything so there is nothing we want to avoid I will leave it to you to arrange dinners as you think is best (we are morning people so we prefer earlier dining times), also we do want to do Chef’s table one evening if there is an early seating for that. Again, we will defer to you for everything, we are easy, the only thing we would prefer would be coastal Kitchen on night on after sail away. On Boarding day we would like to do Sabor for lunch Snacks: We love Charcuterie type items or just plain cheese/crackers/salami etc Sushi Fresh fruits Late night we’ve been known to eat pizza/ranger cookies etc lol Beverages: We would love to have Truly (Pineapple/wild berry) heavily stocked in the room fridge and cooler if possible We love Wine and Champagne (I know you can’t stock that, but just for reference. Also I know there is a boarding day bottle and for that we prefer thee Moet Champagne) Blue Moon (with oranges) Coke Zero/Diet Coke Club Soda Tons of water Sugar free red bull Coffee: We would like a standing order of 2 Starbucks Venti blonde/light roast with cream and equal Shows: We have no preference, so will leave with you We are traveling from Houston Texas and plan to fly in to Orlando the day before and stay at the courtyard in Coco Beach. This will be my first try at live blogging, so please bear with me. I will try to keep it entertaining as we like to have a lot of fun and enjoy being in the moment! Here's to hoping the next 27 days go quick
  7. On Facebook they are stating that they got off at 1:30 pm and will stay an extra hour. However their original time was 08:30.
  8. The venison loin at 150 CP is outstanding! Thee lobster add on at Chops, Giovanni's and lobster thermidor at 150 CP are great as well. Izumi Teppanyaki the filet is not to be missed either. Gnocchi at Giovanni's as well. Playmakers pork wings and onion rings Oh and get the burnt ends at port side bbq.
  9. Having also been on this sailing, I echo everything Jax stated above, the new protocols didn't impact the experience at all. Some shows were adjusted but that can happen anytime. We had our genie replace on the next to the last day due to her being a close contact to a positive case. The new genie stepped in and took great care of us without missing a beat. Service was outstanding and I would go again next week if I didn't have to get back to work.
  10. Just got off of Oasis. Deck 6 forward was closed off but that was that way from the start and our genie told us it was the crew quarantine area where new sign ons go for their required quarantine period. That said the captain announced our we had a 1.4% positive rate as of the last night all asymptomatic or mild. We sailed with about 4500 guests and 2000 crew I believe so that is ~90 give or take five or ten based on exact numbers. the cruise was great and we didn’t really even notice.
  11. Just an FYI, our genie Leticia is in quarantine due to have a close contact. She is negative but has to quarantine for 10 days. We now have Rahul for the last 2 days.
  12. The cruise director did state that before we left, however that was not what the app said and almost no one wore them once outside other than staff.
  13. Sorry we missed Maho today…just decide to get some rest and enjoy the ship, looked amazing!
  14. First Grievance….they seem to be out of buffalo trace….and there is only two…days….left! but I still got more problems so stay tuned!!
  15. Seconded, we saw him at the 10:30 showing and I was in tears from laughing so hard. He didn't pull any punches which was refreshing!
  16. @WAAAYTOOOwould you believe they have replaced the wild mushroom soup at chops with butternut squash soup? After seeing you rave about it I was looking forward to that....
  17. It was a lot of fun! Nice to meet you and your family as well @Jax
  18. Yes, same for us, I think we were on the same team just different cars. Not a huge deal as it moved pretty fast, but I was surprised as well.
  19. Seconded, we were in a couple indoor places last night and this wasn't an issue at all. Once seated we took off masks and enjoyed our drinks. Even moved around inside the pub and there were no mask police.
  20. We are in star class on this cruise, I’ve just been cheating and posting in Jax's thread and I apologise as I'm not trying to hijack her blog . But I will.concur with her, CK on night 1 was awesome! Current view from Cabans 5
