  1. I get the feeling @WAAAYTOOO was referring to all the excursions and not so much the blog
  2. I actually had pork belly on my one and only NCL so I get it. I don't mind NCL but when I cruised them it was a long time ago and I was a smidge turned off by their all-inclusive aspect. Now it's like I rank with Royal and the pricing/ itn offerings are meh.
  3. OP is on FOS aka Freedom, so my reply was based on that.
  4. I personally find Chops to be lackluster, it is slightly worse than an average steakhouse on land. I often find that everyone's steak taste better than chops and their sides leave a lot to be desired when it comes to flavor. But hibachi is also just hibachi. If I was doing FOS I would do Giovanni's Kitchen, the steak is better imho.
  5. I also don't think I have done the night club on a cruise. I can't dance at all, I lack the rhythm that one half of my people are naturally born with.
  6. I hardly go to the WJ, don't know if the treats are there. I usually get mine in the DL during happy hour.
  7. I had them in the DL on Freedom in April every day. I would take most and put them in my baggies for casino snacks.
  8. CP........ the bread and the urban garden drink, also I actually enjoy the lamb wellington and the lobster thermidor will taste like sausage pizza. As a NJ native you will understand what I mean.
  9. It will be honored. The change is they will not offer it on all flights, if it is offered then it will be honored.
  10. First you guys look good, I was honestly expecting the worst based on your earlier description Second even not in star class I bring the baggies......mainly for ranger cookies and those delectable fruity pebble rice treats. But only my brother knows I live blog. The vintages would read it and get their feelings hurt. Even though I am honest with them in real life I have a soft face that makes the harsh truths go easier. How crowded has the ship felt? It was sort of bananas when we were on there in Jan. The only time Playmakers was semi empty was port days during lunch.
  11. Thanks for taking us along. Your review really helps me think about my own bucket list cruise. I am looking at a SilverSea cruise that does Shanghai to Australia and it is not bad at $14k per person all in.
  12. Since your cruise is close, you should be able to see the menus. You will probably have a formal night and a dress your best night. But the dinner menu will be based on itinerary and other factors. I sail Oct 15th and I can see the menus as well as the themes.
  13. Icon will more than likely be in a larger terminal. When I did Oasis then Grandeur I had to catch rideshare, it was not walkable even for me and I can do a mile easily with luggage.
  14. So, the packing situation was much worse than we thought or stay with me......Batman uses cruises to avoid wearing underwear. Some of us like to eat, gamble or people watch but Batman likes to be free.......... I have to say that Chops always underwhelms me, especially when it comes to drinks.
  15. But you can have the bar fill your souvenir cup. Sometimes the cups they give you won't be enough, so filling the souvenir cup might be your best bet.
  16. So you're on the ship, it crowded, and Batman did not help me win with 8 pairs? Did you not keep your luggage with you ? @WAAAYTOOO stresses this when you sail Star.
  17. I know it was slightly touched upon, but dinning packages can sell out. So, waiting closer to the sail date can mean no package. Unlike beverages or internet, there are a finite number of spots available.
  18. Day 23 I can't believe we are about three weeks away. I feel like with all the stress I have been planning this cruise since 1985. I got a new batch of RUB emails. A couple of days ago, the sailing only had balconies left and today when I checked there were 8 suites and some rooms in each category. As usual the lack of critical thinking and comprehension is amazing. A couple of weeks ago I sent out my 35-day email and it contained the following: I have come up with a preliminary plan when it comes to dinning but it all hinges on times available for a group of 8. So far it is: Day 1: Sabor (Mexican/tacos) Lunch 12/1ish, Dinner: Samba Grill(churrasco) around 8Pm Day 2: Izumi's (Japanese) Lunch around 12/1, Dinner: 150 CP( fancy pants) around 8:30pm Day 3: Giovanni's (Italian) Lunch around 12/1 , Chops(steak) around 8:30 Day 4: port day so port/sabor/JR, Dinner: 150 CP( fancy pants) around 8pm Day 5: port day so port/sabor/JR Dinner: Izumi (Japanese) 7ish because of shows Day 6: port day so port/sabor/JR Dinner: Giovanni's (Italian) around 8pm Day 7: Chops(steak) Lunch 12/1ish, Dinner: Samba Grill(churrasco) around 8:30Pm Both yesterday and today I received numerous texts and calls asking which restaurants we will be going to....... When I said to check the email, I was later met with I see the names but what type of restaurants....... A lot of vintages have started their packing, I think most are bringing two outfits a day. I also had to field more calls about the train ride and one more with the blind gent. My mother is his primary source, yet she has told him nothing. He was under the impression we were taking the train only so far and driving to the port. He also didn't understand what he needed to cruise, so I made sure he would have his passport and cash/credit card to put down for his seapass account. She also told him not to bring food because he can get it on the train. Since all the vintages are my mother's people, I had to send out an email saying NOT to listen to her. I wish I was sailing with @SweetPea, it sounds so simple and fun.
  19. Have not done a transatlantic but I will say that interest can very ship to ship. I would imagine that whether these tournaments happen will have to do with the interest of guest on the ship.
  20. I don't understand your question. If you booked a check in time that's all you are required to do. You can't book a boarding time as boarding depends on each cruise. Sometimes everyone is off before 10am and they start boarding immediately and others you can have a 10:30 check in and not board until after 11am. The check in is the wellness check.
  21. But also Batman suggesting getting luggage this late in the game is why you need to check his underwear situation. That sounds so bad when I read it back.
  22. Fancy people know Tar-Zhey doesn't have time for tomfoolery. I did not shop at Walmart until I was almost 30, in Chicago it was only on the west side(horrible) and the south side (even worse)
