Christmas decorations update : there aren’t any. Nothin’, nada, nunca. Joyce said that she’s never seen a ship not start decorating by this time. Not sure what’s going on. Maybe they have all new amplified Christmas decorations that will be on boarded when we debark #disappointed

I would strongly recommend NOT doing any Mayan ruins tour on the mainland through a 3rd party. Not because it wouldn’t be a good tour, but because it is such a great distance away. If you are delayed for any reason and do not make it back and miss the ship, it’s a very big deal. I’m sure there will be those who have had excellent 3rd party excursions to the mainland Mayan ruins, but the risk, to me, is just too great. There are plenty of times that I have used 3rd parties for excursions but this is one situation where I would never do it.

I need to go back and confirm this. If I’m not mistaken, these drinks are available all day (11-11) and not just 4:30-8 to person eligible for the suites lounge.

For those of you who might care, I took photos of the bar menu in the Suites Lounge. This is the Happy Hour menu available daily from 4:40-8 PM I have the full service menu as well but need to clarify some info on this one and will publish it later

Hey, Steph- Truthfully, we have not been back to the casino since the first night. We walked through there yesterday morning but it was already so crowded plus I couldn’t tell which tables were open do we just kept moving. I have not felt the need to hang out in the casino this trip. I I imagine a great deal of that had to do with our beautiful suite. I just love being there !

....and it still is. That is still my favorite beach on Oki. So much fun

Thanks, Sweety ! I don’t know if I even mentioned it, but our meal at 150 (beef tenderloin for 2) was very marginal. The beef was chewy and tasteless. I have come to the conclusion that I am just “steaked out”. I have never been a huge beef fan to begin with and in the past 9 days I have eaten more steak than I would normally consume in a year. I think I just need to steer clear of steak for a while. Maybe they will be more palatable if I keep them as a special treat.

Yes, Kadena is a nice base. Waaay better than anything the Marine Corps has over there. We used to take MAC hops out of Kadena over to South Korea to shop. There was also a once-a-week Navy flight to Hong Kong that was a favorite I’m sure those are long gone. In a rather weird twist of fate, I ended up going back to Oki many years later for business. I ended up having sites at Ft Buckner and Torii Station and made many trips back over there, the past 16 years.

We didn’t find the Music Hall concert to be that loud BUT we sat kinda off to the side, almost behind the speakers so it could have been louder if you were getting a direct barrage from the sound system.

I’m so happy that you and your besties are having fun. I know you were a bit nervous about a “girl” trip and when you are the “organizer” you somehow feel responsible to make sure things go right. I know. I’ve been there. Glad it’s going well.

I agree that there should be a suites area. I’m guessing, but believe there will be, eventually.

However, on a positive note, we just got back from seeing Phoenix, and I cannot say enough GOOD things about that show. They were really good. I would go back and see them again in a minute. I am not as impressed with the Music Hall on Oasis as I was with the one on Anthem, but they did the best they could with the space they had. It’s a sight more useful now than it was as Dazzles. Also, a huge bit of news, Dan and I finally met the Twangbot. He seemed very real. Almost human-like. A very advanced bot, indeed. He sat with us at the concert. It was quite an honor for us.??

To me, it seemed like they tried to take advantage of the success of Flight (Symphony) and add a touch of Blue Planet. The result falls flat, IMO. Honestly, I don’t ever expect any kind of plot to any of these shows but it seemed very disjointed and again, the music was utterly unfamiliar. I also agree that this is NOT the fault of the performers. This show is just a hot mess.

We just got out of One Sky. My opinion...? It wasn’t terrible and it didn’t help that I knew virtually none of the music.

My husband was stationed at Futenma Air Station. We lived at Camp Kinser and I worked at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lester It was a fun 3 years but I was ready to come back to the land of tall people
