  1. I have done mostly inside, cpl times ocean view and the last time had a virtual balcony.

I have to tell you, it really looks and feels like looking out a door/window!

Person I travelled with was very apprehensive about having an inside room, but she couldn't get over how real it felt.....from the sound to the views etc.

It's defn an option I would suggest ppl check out as these rooms aren't usually much more than an inside room.

  2. These prices above listed are not normal prices for Miami I can assure you....$79 hardly gets you a hostel bed in Miami.

While everyone will find deals every no and then....."I booked this cruise for $150"..........normal hotel rooms run expensive in Miami. Check out travel board on TA or CC and you will get an idea of what to expect.

Double Tree in April...cheapest is about $170 with average price over $200/night......

  3. I had read something that they were only offering to pay for their flights home up to $300 at the next port.

I think this was a long cruise...16 days or something and this was the second issue on the cruise already?

I just skimmed a news article or two about it so not firsthand information.

Either way, these issues are not fun. But I would rather be stuck in port I think. Although it did say that the power on the ship was still working and bars/restaurants/entertainment was proceeding as normal so really....

  4. Free airport shuttle and port shuttle really depends on the price of the  hotel room as to if its "free" or not...

Not sure what the OP considers affordable....but often I have seen rooms in Miami that cost as much or more than my cruise did.....and they came with "free" airport and port shuttle's....lol.

  5. Start looking ASAP is my best advice!

Miami can be one of the most expensive port cities in North American to try and find a hotel in.

Not many offer airport AND port shuttle for free. And if it is, its the more expensive rooms..like $300/night or so.

Most hotels around the airport will offer free airport shuttle and usually a port shuttle for around $10/person.

Keep in mind that the flat rate from the airport to port and vice versa is $27 for a cab so something to consider as well depending on your group!

  6. Its a good deal for the ship and the balcony rate I think for 9 nights.....

weather is still nice up this way then..porb low 70's or higher on some days.

Leaves wont have changed by then but it will certainly be a different cruise than going south.

But why not do something different, its a good deal and the wife will be happy!

  7. I enjoy reading at home..but I find that on vacation there is too much else to see and do. I brought a book ONCE with me to an all-inclusive(which is even quieter and less to do and see) and I ended up forgetting about it and left it on the nightstand for  the whole week.

That being said, I always see lots of ppl reading on a cruise, usually in some quieter areas...I am sure there is something about sitting there, looking out over the sea, feeling the breeze and enjoying a good book!

  8. wow...that is a deal....although I would hate to see what you must have first paid for your rooms if you got $800 off each one and they are still not free!...ha

I haven't noticed anything great as I was looking for a friend today who wants to travel in April......prices look the same to me for the most part as they have for the past 6 mths...

  9. would be nice if they provided a menu for Room Service....on Navigator it's  not available on the TV and there is nothing in the rooms...you have to call every time and ask what the options are...then see what everyone wants and then call back to order.....

makes me think they are trying to discourage rooms service being used.

    First time I noticed this.
