@SLJ Good question. For us the answer is yes! We cruised before the pre-paid gratuities (like many of us) and we tip now just like we did then. The only difference is that Ceil and I pay an additional $30 per day! I bet my case is exactly what the cruise lines were hoping for when they implemented the new policy !!! Whoa is me. Can I have a little pitty please...

Yes, I agree it would be column 3. For our May 12th Adventure cruise we go to Bermuda first before heading to the Eastern Caribbean. For us it is column 2. As @twangsterpointed, the same Travel Authorisation is required (along with the same $40pp cost), but the testing requirements are what is different.

I like this idea! So 1) get in early, 2) order meals right away (know your choices beforehand), 3) order drinks after meals??? Do you skip apps or deserts?

Sort of like us last week. We had a free Bahamas/Caribbean cruise (from points on our BOA RCCL VISA card) for Harmony in 2020 that was cancelled. So we rolled that into a JR Suite - our first Suite in all of our 22 years cruising on RCCL! Now I am doomed. Cecile wants all our cruises to be in JR Suites!!! So last week, while in our JR Suite, we booked the ANTHEM b2b for the 2023 Norwegian Fjords in room 11636 - a JR Suite...

@5arbusto I agree with @Pooch. @Matt wrote a blog article (it is easy to find) which states Traditional early dining is most often at 5:30PM and Traditional late dining is most often at 8PM. If you want to dine each night at the same time and can get your TA to book you into your choice of Traditional early or late, then you will have your "same time" dining each night. MTD starts later like 6:30 - that is what is was on the Anthem last week. This gives early traditional time to start clearing the dining room. But you can still get the same time every night with MTD - more so now since many ships are still ramping up to full capacity.

Ideally, if you do MTD, it would be great to know all of show times, port schedules, and any specialty dining you want to schedule too. Currently, it is hard to get the show times in advance of the cruise. Usually the best you can do is to plan it all out on-board on the first afternoon of the cruise. Yes, this means waiting in lines but making this effort will give you the best opportunity to get what you want.

Ceil and I cruised 22 years to get 171 points - all pre-Covid and all non-suites. We averaged about 1.5 cruises per year, but not all Royal. So we made D+ on our November cruise and sailed for the first time as D+ last week. Double Points didn't help us at all. And I don't think they ever will. Seriously we will never get to Pinnacle...
