  1. Oasis of the seas Thanksgiving week, a little over 3,800 passengers included in that number 1,084 kids. This was from the CD at a presentation. He said the charter sailing before us an adult only offering included 4200 passengers. No kids no masks on that one.
  2. @Baked Alaska ours took over a solid month! But all were green when they were finally verified. More of us sailing so.....
  3. Sadly we found this to be true on the Adventure in June. Our daughter was given a RED band at the time "the band of the unvaxed" We were treated as lepers especially by our dining team. The service was non existent, even though they wore masks and we all had negative Covid tests minutes before stepping on board and days before as well. Let's just say it was not a nice experience. The crazy thing was the servers stood so far from the table they practically tossed our plates it was all very dramatic yet the dining tables were nearly on top of each other when there was room to spread out more, strange It was a weird dynamic and some other passengers dramatically covered their faces with their arms or tucked their head in the top of their shirt, or even a cloth napkin they took from the dining room it seemed! We just ignored the behaviors and made the best of it. We always had the elevator by ourselves though, as soon as the band was in view it was ours!
  4. No, initial bid x 2 even if more people in the cabin. Only first two passengers are charged.
  5. I agree about the ditching of masks, but what an incredible opportunity for Royal to be a wonderful alternative to those who can't participate in that protocol. Once we experienced Royal after DCL we realized it was an incredible choice and have no plans on returning to DCL, to many ships to experience over here. Humm, quite the conundrum for Royal.
  6. @starbratAt about 65 days out I was sent an email with an offer to Royal Up. MEI @Sharla is my TA and they participate in the program. That being said albeit I could bid via this email I could not reach the program until 30 days out with the email contact strand above. Have fun, it is so addictive!
  7. @DuaneGIf you prefer a certain cabin category or cabin in general Royal wants you to book, they are in business to make money. They have hired this third party firm to add to their revenue with this program to fill cabins last minute, it is up to us as passengers to just deal with the way it is handled because essentially if you "win" you may be getting your cabin at a price point lower then it could have been purchased, especially when sailing with more then 2 people. Participating in the program going in one must know you are just a number, that is all. This is our third time bidding and we are 5 days out, all bids still pending. Our two previous sailings our bids were not accepted and we found out the evening before our sailing, 1800hrs and 1900hrs. It's a great program for some lucky passengers and hands down better then the demeaning way DCL conducts theirs in the terminal. My advice, book the cabin you want and then bid if there is something you would love to try and then forget about it. (Okay, I check my status daily) but go in accepting you will be assigned the cabin you booked and what a happy surprise if your number is called and you "win" the upgrade. Wishing you a positive outcome.
  8. @JacqdaContact your TA, if no TA Social Media messaging. I sent a message on Twitter and they responded quickly, just tell them they are blank and ask them to "push them out" again. Be sure to supply your name and reservation number. This literally just happened to me, had my documents in 2 days.
  9. Okay, okay No apologies needed, it was better for you to be present in mind body and spirit then to live blog. I was very happy you didn't as you needed to feel your joy at that moment. Be advised I am loving what you just posted, I am so happy for you both!
  10. I can attest to this as @Sharla got me a full accounting report it was CRAZY with my careful notes and spread sheets I still felt cheated, it trickled in and she was able to confirm AND fight for the rest. TA all day!!!
  11. We are sailing on the Oasis in 9 days. While linking our reservations with friends so we can dine together on Thanksgiving we observed both of their check in times were changed. Has anyone else experienced this? Two cabins both had secured a 1200 check in but when we went into the reservation today the set sale pass indicates 1300hrs. It's not a problem we will all be on the ship for an amazing sailing we were just wondering is this something that is typical? Why would they randomly change them? We went back in to try to change back but then it had 1400 or later, again no big deal but curious as to what you think occurred. @twangsteryou are always a plethora of information, would you venture a guess? Thanks everyone!
  12. The garage is freeing up the spaces from everyone who disembarked, it seems (at least in PC) the parking deck is new and HUGE, Oasis class in mind. It seemed much tighter in Miami garage then PC. Again even leaving the garage everything was very orderly, signage and humans directing, we felt it was a really good experience. And YES you can meet prior to check in, hey we are outside on parking deck 3 by the elevators. There are benches and what not if I recall correctly. The set up is very mindful.
  13. The signage is everywhere and the parking deck is huge. Just drive in no reservations required. At least not when we sailed in 2019, I'm sure someone will correct this if it has changed. Do you all need to check in together? Maybe everyone can meet after check in and security within the terminal, a simple text upstairs by the east window, or something like that. Maybe this will remove some anticipated stress. Have a wonderful time.
  14. YES, it is just so darn convenient. When I disembark I just want to go, another shuttle with all that entails, no thanks. We like walking to our car, loading in our luggage and heading out. For our family of 3 especially when leaving it was worth every penny. Yes I do believe that is taxes included. Oh if you were really cheap you would be sailing Carnival, lol!
  15. @fitz2 Can you send them a message on Social Media? Just go to say the Twitter message area & say I just cancelled my Oasis (or whatever ship) reservation number #XYZ in line with the CWC and I did this on the phone, while they confirmed it verbally I have yet to receive an email or conformation. Would you be so kind as to check for me that reservation #XYZ for put your name and C & A numbers has been cancelled due to the CWC program? I have done this on my Twitter feed and received a response let me check on this for you and then another communication pertaining to the outcome, then screen shot it. I had a FCC snafu and I received a written response that Royal then said was not correct but it was from them. I did not receive that amount towards my sailing but since I showed them my screenshot they in fact gave me the amount in OBC, good luck with this. (I'm not on face book so that is why I used twitter, I just Twitter view my daughters school messages.)
  16. @Jkaczano where do you get these Social Feeds? Are they in the club itself, I have never seen them before. Thanks so much!
  17. Here you go, courtesy of my front yard! Congratulations and have a LOVE filled week!
  18. @Shep go to www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade and check your emails they sometimes email you the upgrade offer as well. Royal will set the minimum bid and the cabins they are offering, then you can bid from there. Remember what you bid is X2 for the first two passengers. I take into consideration what I paid for my initial cabin and bid what I feel would be comfortable for me to pay for the upgrade. I have YET to "win" but good luck. * check the sales and prices frequently I have read here that some were able to upgrade for a good price without having to Royal UP! Beware it is very addictive
  19. @teddy I hope you have an amazing sailing. Would you be so kind as to inquire as to the cost of a shot of rum? I'm as interested as @Karen B. We almost always just get the refreshment package because we just don't drink that much alcohol, and when we did get a frozen drink on the island we just ordered it paying full price, this is a great idea! Thanks so much!
  20. I sent a request on Twitter messaging with our names and Crown and Anchor numbers. It took a few days but they responded with the amounts for each of us and the certificate numbers.
  21. This post made me sad; I hear and feel your frustration and disappointment, I personally would not be leaving my kiddos behind that young in the kids club (my own trepidation) but mine is now a teen. As others have said these protocols have been in place forever (since sailing started again) but hearing this does nothing to help with what you are feeling. This is a HUGE disappointment but as @SpeedNoodlesnoted we do not have protocols for February yet but I feel confident in saying here I don't believe a call to the "head office" will change much as they are transparent & clear, please don't take this as a personal a front, they do this to protect themselves and limit litigation IF someone came back and tried to accuse them of something related to this mess we are going through. There are protocols I whole heartedly DO NOT AGREE WITH, period. BUT if I want to sail I know I must adhere to them. You can wait and see what the protocols bring or not, as CWC is still in effect plus I believe they are possibly doing cash refunds due to not being agreeable with the newest protocols but you have to wait for February protocols to be released for this scenario. You're family Holiday may not be exactly as you imagined but can you make it work? Maybe there is someone in the fam that would stay back with the kiddos? Maybe a land vacation is in order? I wish for you peace and a solution that works for you and yours, but if you are going to sail sadly we have to accept the cruise lines protocols no matter how we personally feel. I am sad you are heartbroken BUT when you step back and breathe take solace in the fact you have an amazing family of 20 who are here, healthy, safe and who enjoy each other so much you can commit to a vacation together, I wish for you a calming and agreeable solution to your situation.
  22. Are they aiming for maximum stress before sailing? Do they really want us to sail? I totally don't feel warm and fuzzy about sailing with them as much anymore. Jump through all these hoops and MAYBE we will let you sail, smh....
  23. Good morning @Booscruize it's 01 November.....I'm getting excited for you. Your posts had me pulling down my wedding album circa 1992. Holy Hannah, was that really me? Patiently waiting.....
  24. I have 5 still pending, I bid on everything accept the most expensive I believe Royal Loft, it was 3,000 minimum & I can't swing it. It seems currently booked anyways so I felt no "pull" to submit at that price point. My friend is on facebook for this sailing and she told me others on this sailing are already being notified of winning bids. I believe they probably hold out until the very last minute for the few Star class options in order to sell them at their premium price if at all possible. I do believe while not preferable you could find out as soon as the evening before, maybe even at the port say if a last minute funky test gets in the way, but otherwise CWC is a 48 hour thing so I would start really expecting a notification at the earliest Wednesday or Thursday night, the 17th or 18th. I preface this by saying I am just thinking this through, I really have no idea either. I am actually surprised I have yet to receive any "expired" notifications yet, but also have my expectations in check...okay not really. Keep us posted, I will do the same. If I am not mistaken we are both in CLS which is a nice place to be BUT I would like to see STARS!!
