  1. Oh wow I saw this morning, but know nothing about the port, was wondering if this were Royal Caribbean coming comes in. This is one crazy story. What could have happened that this ship, big cargo ship hit the bridge. That's nuts. Feel terrible for anyone caught in this mess.
  2. Ok, Royals answer through Facebook was pretty generic. Boarding times vary by ship and itinerary. I'm not that worried about it. We have a paid for specialty lunch at noon so we will be on one way or another.
  3. Well I believe this is the way its going for all cruises. I'm not sure why but I think its going this way. Now i do it through the app because its super simple.
  4. Someone I work with checks in for his Symphony cruise April 1st which is ironic being April Fools Day but he is gonna let me know what time he gets and it's available. He wants to at midnight like most of us do to get the earliest time slot.
  5. Oh good idea. I have gotten pretty good responses from Royal Caribbean on Facebook. Something also tells me this is another Royal IT issue that'll take 6 months to fix.
  6. That's out of NJ? Something fishy going on. Very strange and it's concerning.
  7. Here is the other very, very strange thing you can run into and I don't quite understand it. The "pick your own room" is cheaper and sometimes by a lot than "we pick your room". It's always a surprise when I see that and very pleasant one. I don't know how that happens honestly.
  8. Not me and I just booked Bermuda last week for September 2025.
  9. The thing is how do you enforce and even check who is 16 or 18? Who's gonna even make that call? It's really the honor system in the end I think. Some 16 year olds look 18 and some 18 years olds look 16 too. It's a tough dilemma.
  10. Whether I get 10:30 or not I will be there at 10:30. In fact I heard a few people on my last cruise on Anthem say they can't earlier than the time they got for check in. They aren't turning anyone away or least they weren't.
  11. In general though I don't like this. Embarkation day I don't eat till that lunch at noon. I did want to wait even longer. I didn't like this development at all. Not being able to choose check in time and earliest 11:30. Me being very cynical especially with Royal Caribbean I wonder if they are getting ready to charge for the earliest check in time? Wouldn't completely surprise me unfortunately.
  12. Oh boy that's not good. We are sailing Liberty in October. We can't make a 12 o'clock reservation if our check in time is 11:30.
  13. We sail our of NJ two to three times a year and I always stay up till midnight to get the early check in and have always gotten 10:30. 11:30 is too late as we always have specialty lunch reservations at 12 noon every embarkation day. I hope they haven't changed it to 11:30 earliest.
  14. We are doing the hop on hop off bus but not through Royal Caribbean. Booked it through Viator. Better deal there.
  15. There is absolutely nothing for either of our back to back cruises in May 2025. Not even internet to purchase which is odd because that doesn't really change.
  16. I honestly can't believe in 2024 that anyone cares what anyone is wearing for dinner. Its both sad and comical at the same time. Wear what you want just make sure you are wearing something. I used to wear Khakis every night but felt over dressed and those in jeans looked much more comfortable so I joined them. Jeans baby, jeans.
  17. Thanks, I really like the website and app. They are a TripAdvisor company so that made me much more confident to use them. You can contact them, chat with them and contact the tour operator so there seems to be plenty of communication avenues. I looked at another company like this Shore excursions but they seemed to very limited in options and I overall just didn't like it as much. The cancel up to 24 hours before it's very, very nice.
  18. Has anyone used Viator for Excursions? Found it a few days ago and its certainly a savings over booking the RCL. Have 2 "reserve now pay later". Some good ones RCL doesn't even offer. Any experience here with Viator?
  19. If you can't cancel or modify it has been to be accepted in my mind. It wouldn't be fair otherwise.
  20. Yup, I was so confident and then I had issues with the app a few days before our cruise and then I printed the cruise pass. Thank goodness I did because the app was a no show when we got to the port. Of course.
  21. Where when I log do I see how many points I have? I'm doing this from the Bank of America app by the way. Maybe can only do this from the website?

  23. Ok thanks. I think I'm just gonna cash on whatever we have for our October cruise. Is it kind of a pain to cash in for on board credit?
  24. Yeah exactly in the end it is what it said it is but it's crazy how you get there. I just find it funny.
