We are going in October and are not doing an excursion. Instead, we're using one of Frommer's Walking Tour plans to see some sights. (I enjoy touristy things, so this scratches my itch for free.)

Our plan is to be back on the ship by early afternoon.

Thanks for this. Was wondering how to do Nassau and this is ideal. Maybe stop for a wee cocktail after building up a thirst, then back on board.

@adidassler We had the Chill island cabana in July. There will be 8 towels in the cabana waiting for you, so there is no need to check them out on the ship. Just like they will have the cooler filled with ice and water.

thanks @Pima1988 that's great news. first time cruiser so everything is totally new. I've read you get floating mats and snorkel stuff too, did you get these?

When you pre-purchase the deluxe beverage package online (before the cruise), the 18% gratuity is automatically charged at the time of purchase. If you purchase beverages individually on the ship (no drinks package), you are automatically charged an 18% gratuity at the time of purchase. There's no way around paying the drinks' gratuity. If you choose to add additional gratuity, it is your option to do that, but there is no way to choose NOT to pay the drinks' gratuity.

This is excellent. I was under the impression that an additional 18% would be charged to my on board account to be settled on departure if I bought the drink package, but reading this it's included?

  4. I've got two cabins booked for October, I'd like to add on the drinks package so called RC as I assumed it would be easier to do both cabins drinks packages by speaking to a human.

Wrong. I asked if the drinks package is valid on Coca Cay and the lady insisted it was not, i asked her to clarify with a colleague and she continued to insist it cannot be used off ship.

I didn't want to press the issue and also didn;t want to buy it without confirmation...so, who's wrong? Me or the lady on the phone?

    Ta.

On Symphony last month Johnny Rockets did give us milk shakes at no charge and to go. Others here have reported that they could get the free shake only if they paid the cover charge and ate their meal there. So it probably depends on the ship. Maybe a recent Mariner passenger can help. Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive answer.

Thanks Skid. The more I investigate, the more I get confused!

I was under the impression that no drinks were complimentary on board, including bottled water? But i've just read further down the forum that it is...can you shed any light on that?

This was posted by someone currently on the Royal Caribbean Blog Mariner Group Cruise. Might help give an idea of proximity.

Hi, what is this please? Is there a specific chat about the Mariner?

  7. Hi, first time poster, first time cruiser, be gentle ?

I'm cruising on the mariner of the seas in October, I've booked a cabana at coco cay and I think I'm going to book the drinks package too.

From what I can tell, all food is included on coco Cay, would the same be true for drinks if I booked the drinks package?

    thanks, Adi.
