  1. The planner is still greyed out. It doesn't show Juneau even in the header over " 7 night Alaska Cruise XYZ Days to go." THats the first I noticed that.
  2. A call revealed that it is just a glitch and I was able to book over the phone
  3. This morn update: Still showing but greyed out trying to buy another excursion. I see elsewhere that other items offered not related to Juneau are gone as well. App Planner showing palm trees for that day.
  4. That's been taken into consideration. Been a "thing" since last August. Juneau is different animal and there is no problems there. IT glitch of the day. App issue ...cruise planner still taking my money and making it their money...with a smile.
  5. Has anybody done it that way? GF hates the idea of the "blue bus". We need taxi for one tour anyway. Its about half way to visitor center. Rather than return to ship and go to next tour thinking just taxi there and meet up. Then taxi back to town where we want to grab a crab and some chocolate...
  6. I'm booked on Quantum and no issues. Cruise planner letting me add excursion just a few minutes ago. THe app is showing palm trees. I'm 136 days out so the app is not working really for anything except to show me what I have ordered on line.

  8. I never had a problem with HAL. They were flawless in customizing a 16 person holiday sailing for us. Always treated us like gold and never a glitch. Mind you this was before "apps" and the web was young. I shifted to Royal because their ships are far superior to others out there. In the beginning there was few if any issues. To me the steady stream of inexcusable glitches and screw ups on their part began around 2017 when they misplaced my C+A points from about 14 years, To this day never fixed. Was only 40 points in that time. Doesn't matter. I don't drink so free drinks at diamond mean nothing to me. The rest spiraled to the point of "totally unreliable" during covid days. It extends to the now. Cruising should be enjoyable. I shouldn't have to spend hours on top of hours getting their errors fixed. My daughter jumped ship so to speak. Norwegian all the way but some glitches can be found there. Its their handling of problems in a timely manner that keeps her sailing with them. I find when I encounter a problem with RCL it takes several calls and escalations along with hours of less than respectful dialog to correct. She usually gets her problems resolved within minutes on a single call. My older sis stayed with HAL and she does point that their service has deteriorated but not to the point of frustration.
  9. I actually had prickly pear growing at my houses in New Jersey and in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. We had transplanted some in Jersey that came from dunes near a beach. They thrived I guess 40 years until Hurricane Sandy flooded the area with salty, silty, tainted, river water.
  10. If it was just me I'm super flexible. Late night to morning flight no problem. Problem is Fiancé has to work that next morning and it would be a scramble landing 6AM and be at her work an hour from the airport at 8:30. The other problem I have is when to seriously "shop" flights? I'm seeing flights say a few weeks to a couple months from now, before our dates for a fraction of what I'm being quoted. Right now, they are showing for two economy round trips near what our cruise cost.
  11. Advantages? Disadvantages? I'm seeing nothing special in their pricing and they don't list my pre noon (a few minutes apart) flight I really want. Usually don't have to fly. I live Palm Beaches within easy reach of Canaveral, Lauderdale and Miami. Even Tampa within a little longer drive reach. Summer I am less than an hour from Cape Liberty and about 3 hours from Baltimore. This is for Seattle coming from and going back to Newark, NJ. Going has good selection. Return has a bunch way too early or very late night getting in morning of a day later. Only mid day is few minutes short of noon and Air 2 sea is not offering. What to do? Does MEI handle just flights?

  13. Yeah yeah I know... Don't book return flight til noon or later? We arrive Seattle 6-7 in morn (Two different times on itineraries). There is a flight back to EWR at 11:32 AM. Gets in at 8:PM. I know in Miami or Lauderdale, I'd feel fairly comfortable in trying to make that flight. I don't have a clue how far airport is from port in Seattle. If that one is out of reach the next flights are late night and don't get in to EWR til the next morn when Fiancé is supposed to work. Anybody?
  14. I moved away from the phone. Taking this to writing where there is a distinct trail of who said what. Phones "May be recorded" but might not! They keep saying my FCCs were used and "say" where but provide no proof. I provide receipts as proof that those FCCs were nowhere near the reservation number they claim. This is all diverting away from them going into an unrelated transaction account with no notice and taking money from a paid in full cruise to fix their error. Again no mention of the failed refund or the move to use my money had ever been made known to me. If I hadn't caught the balance due, they would have cancelled and taken my paid in full fare as their own! That sure seems like a clear attempt to defraud by omission. KInda like a bank teller going into your account because thought she made a mistake cashing a check on another account! Supervisor: "We refunded you". Me: "You went into a paid in full account not related and created a balance due situation! to negate that refund (which was due) And you never let me know!
  15. This is the same continued problems with FCC's that never were supposed to even be FCCs... About two years and its still a problem.
  16. Really almost have to laugh. THey tried to tell me these FCCs were generated March 2022 from an Anthem cancellation. Insistent even! They got real quiet when I showed the same FCCs as having been issued before a Symphony cruise in November 2021... Made even better by sending them to a link here from same time of me pitching a fit that They couldn't be used cause they were issued in Minor Daughter of Fiancé name and I couldn't use.
  17. I'm the CEO and principal shareholder in a company. If his reps are going to call me by my first name instead of Mister ******** or "Sir" (Which I don't mind). I'm going to return the favor. My dad was a Fortune 500 CEO and he preferred people to call him by his first name. Old habits are hard to break. We have enough formality in our world. Easing up facilitates effective dialog.
  18. I really hate bugging execs on low priority problems but last night was more or less strong arm extortion. Its several hundred dollars at stake so not end of world nor is it just pocket change... Demanding that I pay full amount (although final payment date would be May 30) or have it cancelled and them keep the whole fare is wrong on any level! Today I provided hard proof in the form of the invoice showing what FCCs were used and refunded (Not the ones from this refund) and they refused to look at it/ them. Sorry, when they take money from a paid in full cruise and require immediate repayment of that amount for something that I'm genuinely owed that is theft! No sugar coating that one. Its a criminal act at this point. Mikes office is working on a real resolution.
  19. Six hours of tire spinning. They tried to say "refunded" against the back drop of the cancelled cruise.... I had my receipt ready and the FCCs in question were nowhere near that cruise booking and they refunded others. Today, the fcc system is down. How convenient! Call back next week if I'm lucky? Today they tossed up a new balance due for the same amount. That was by "accident"???? At least they said sorry. Still no receipt for amount paid last night and they altered the amount on the invoice showing for my payment in full. My bank account at least reflects the real honest story... I also have the invoice from the day of booking showing paid in full.
  20. Some might remember my months long fight to get control of an FCC issued to my Fiancé's daughter in error from a cancelled cruise years back. We had that matter solved or so I was told. Tried to put it to work a couple months ago on Oasis but there was a glitch. They said they fixed. Tried to use it a few days ago for Alaska booking. Glitch again. Got with the right people and rather than re-issue as FCC they were going to refund. That hit my bank account yesterday morning. So that should be that... Looked at my booking that I paid in full the other day and now it shows "Balance due" for the same amount as the refund! I called and they claimed that I redeemed it "on a cruise that was cancelled and it was issued for" and they want it back!!!!!! So rather than notify me they took money from my paid in full booking to take the refund money back? That would be like going into someone's bank account with no notification or permissions to pay for something unrelated to that account. About the FCCs involved: I couldn't apply it ever because it was issued to a minor in error and not in my name. That only was resolved a couple months ago and this was the first booking since! So, no it had never been applied to anything. Do I throw up my hands and give in or do I spend countless hours on the phone spinning my wheels? Glitch after glitch, steady stream of mistakes, never in clients favor. At what point does "loyal to royal" go out the window!????
  21. Not suggesting cutting anyone's time short or altering excursion. Wondering if there is an option to taking the excursion that we could still see the park.
  22. Almost made a really big one just yesterday while booking an Alaska cruise. I had been looking at a few and they all kind of blended into a mish mash. Finally picked one and went to pull the trigger.... Right cruise, right month and day. Wrong year ! Caught it while I was on hold waiting for a booking agent. Had made a mistake booking last summer by a week from when I intended to go. What could have been a real mess they were forgiving with the next day. I got lucky.
  23. Twice... Once in Alaska and once at Coco Cay. Yes a collapsible spin rod. Yellow bucktail jig in Bahamas and a silver spoon jig in Alaska. They wanted to yell that I had no fishing license but each time I had obtained before getting there...
