  1. I think it surprised them that a "gold" on the edge of "platinum" member could navigate around the system as well as I could... Part of it was due to the fact I have a lot more sailings that C+A couldn't find (thats a different topic for a different day). Then part of it is gaining information from this group... I don't comment in each thread I read but I often take notes that do come in handy. Thank everybody for sharing that info and tanks Matt for having this group...
  2. Some have followed as I have chronicled my refund and FCC ordeals... It was not my intention to sound like a whiner but I'm sure it sounded that way... It was an unbelievable ordeal that has finally come to a grinding halt. Friday was a turning point after a 2 hour hold then that long trying to clear things. Promises made did not come through and last night was a marathon 6 hour scorched earth session... I never saw such an insult to intelligence as I witnessed from them last night. Its a shame that it had to go there... I went into that one with all my notes and homework done. They had nowhere to hide eventually and expedited my refunds and FCC's. Tonight, docs came through finalizing everything. I kept my end of the bargain by making the new bookings I had promised to make. I will sleep soundly and dream of Harmony for November and Indy for April... Its a crying shame it had to be the way it was... I know full well the ordeal they are going through... I sympathize. .. Still no excuse to deliberately mis lead as they did... Thats astern of us now... Let get back to cruisin!
  3. Last night was a 6 hour marathon on the phone about my FCC that failed to arrive on 5/22 as promised... Do these agents take us for brain dead? They tried no fewer than 12 different complete lies before realizing that I had come to the table very well prepared. Among them was "you didn't make your final payment". ""You did make your final payment but did it wrong" " You didn't request fcc til today? " "you requested fcc on 5/22" "We refunded your money instead" ... The list was endless... I have had my fill of having my intelligence insulted... They finally did find that they had the FCC attached to the reservations but all in the wrong amounts... Got that "escalated" and should have in hand by Friday... While I was in wrecking ball mode I rode them like a rusty ten speed and got two of my refunds that I have been waiting on since March paid... Damn they do things weird... Each tax, each fee, each gratuity, each fare... For each person... All goes back to the same "one card" that was charged the one time for everything... No wonder it takes so long... Absolutely no reason that I should have to fight that hard to get my own money back in place to spend it with them again... Now I get to figure how to convince them to do the right thing and honor the booking price for the next cruise that I had tried to sign up for but couldn't because they had all of my money...
  4. With the other carriers offering really sweet deals to get people back, I'm surprised RCCL is going the other way... Looked again and the main "re book" is now double of what I would have been able to book it for if I had my own money back!
  5. At what point are they gonna figure out doing these refunds and FCC's right the first time would so much be in their best interest... That will be the fourth attempt at getting just that one correct... Multiply that out 4 times and thats 16 separate employees tied up (not to mention phone people) where it could have been 4 very quick and easy ones... Insane waste of manpower!
  6. Update... I got 1/4 of 1 of my refunds... They tried to tell me that we're all caught up. I had them do the math and they got really apologetic but that doesn't fix the ongoing problems. No the FCC's did not come either as promised. Said it will be a week just to get my question answered what is going on with that! Meanwhile the cruises I was going to book have both doubled in price and no longer affordable!
  7. Would be nice to get in on that but new cruises I have been planning to book doubled in price this week while I have not been refunded on two or FCC on two... So I'm just flapping around in the breeze waiting...

  9. On the new cruises that doubled in price while waiting for them to correct their mistakes , he said they would work with me once we straighten out the four problems we already are dealing with...
  10. Yesterday I got less than 1/4 of one of my March refunds. Also did not receive either of my FCCs promised for yesterday... Decided to call. Agent was adamant that March was paid in full, until I had him look over details. On the FCC's he sent a request as to what the problems was there. Told me to call back in a week??? I then ripped into him about the one booking I couldn't make in timely fashion because they are sitting on all my money... He said when it all straightens out and they will "work" with me... Not sure what thats supposed to mean. All three cruises I was interested in picking two went up almost double!
  11. Like you I had been promised today as well.. Scanned my bank accounts and cards to make sure I had nothing odd. Well I did... Not for the cruises that get the FCC but the original ones I have been waiting on refund for. Decided to brave the two hour hold and insert my size 11 Topsider in their dark places... Poor guy that got me... I started nice and easy about the FCC that I was promised by today? He could see "request pending" but no other details... Said he forwarded question to that department but would take week just to get answer???? Then I turned up the heat on the original refunds requested March 13.... Ooh I could feel his discomfort over the phone after he tried to tell me they paid in full and I asked him to do some quick math. Thousands apart! His voice perceptibly went higher when I pointed out that if I had it in timely manner , I would be booked for two cruises. Instead they doubled in price almost this week and even one will hurt as it will eat the entire years budget for what would have been half a week ago! I'm not trying to be difficult but I'm really over being treated like a second class citizen.
  12. I am not an anti vaxer by any means... I don't really like the stuff they mix in that cocktail but neither here or there. If I had to make a guess, they may never get a real vaccine for this one. Like Herpes or HIV or Sars or Mers... These things mutate so quick that its near impossible to keep up with it as it changes... You have that then you also have a lot of these viruses just run their course... If I hear 1918 again I will likely create new expletives not yet part of the English language... 1918 was a flu, how many times do we have to hear "this is not a flu" ... Can't have it both ways... So many unknowns. What I do know is that I would far prefer sitting on a balcony counting flying fish than playing armchair immunologist... ?
  13. Not sure fcc to refund process... I tried the FCC For the other bookings since the refund going back to mid march still hasn't been done. Now none of the three have been dealt with other than 400 deposit for first one. Trying to stay loyal but as mentioned at start of this thread I wanted the refunds/ fcc for more cruises and the price on the ones I would have booked has almost doubled!

  16. I get it and once again it was a RCL agent who steered me wrong... I don't think I have got the same story from any two reps since March. Sounds like they are chopping two dates out of my want list today... Even at the 31st, no guarantee I'll see any of my money back after so many flat out lies by them. Hope the prices adjust and I will jump on two of them.
  17. They wanted yet another bunch of deposits off the cash side (Bigger by a lot than the ones I got back) that I still haven't git back from March! The one time they did offer a courtesy hold I would have had to pay by yesterday and that would have been yet another really big lump of change out of my pocket... Right now they sit on about 6000 of my dollars and I don't have even one booking... After being told "April 13, then 16 then 20 then certainly May 1 then not getting any of it, I'm not anxious to float even more out there and don't have it to "risk".
  18. For the FCC's it was them that cancelled... I'm good with math and know what should come back... Ok... That comes via email, do I have to save the emails or is there some "account" I can view ? Checking CC and bank daily... Only the deposit showed up...
  19. I noticed that I finally got a partial refund from first couple cancellations(deposit only ). It came with no notification. Returned to card. The rest is nowhere to be seen though they told me two weeks ago it was made? Do they not notify you when they do make a refund? Now how about FCC? Do they notify you of it ? And how much? Is there some way to monitor that it sits in some account?
  20. Really disappointed... Been waiting now 65 days for refund from first cancellations. Only got "deposit" back. Missing about $2500 from that one that I intended to put down on a couple new cruises. Also missing is the FCC's from the second set that also were going to be used to re-book... Been eyeballing 4 cruises that we would select two or possibly three from. They all went up in price by a bunch! Not quite double but several hundred to a grand each just in the last couple days. With the other lines pulling their pants down to get you to book, I'm kind of surprised to see RCCL going the other way... As it sits now the three cruise possibility is off the table and even two is in jeopardy. If I had been refunded in a timely fashion I'd be booked for three. Not taking her kids is not an option... I want them to really enjoy what their mother and I have told them about... Wish RCCL would get back realistic in pricing so I can fill that dream for them on more than just one cruise...
  21. Well well... got my "deposits" from the first two... Rest of that still MIA... No word of the 3rd /4th FCC... Now I see prices going through the roof... So me booking two or even three getting farther out of reach... ?
  22. After going through that onslaught of negativity I'm gonna toss a wrench in the works... As the post above points out they did a very smart move today with new policy. That is of monumental importance. The virus is one thing but the perception of a "don't care about passengers" cloud was building to a feverish point... If they do concentrate on creating and improving the image of caring about us then things will be fine... They are solvent into early next year. Then they have some some maneuvering that will need to get done. Creditors will be forced to re re re adjust their terms. If RCCL goes belly up with the kind of debt they carry it would sink the lenders. So... They are going to flex any way they can. 11 would destroy their ability to continue as being credit worthy . Liquidation for RCCL would be monumentally difficult Not a lot of buyers out there for steel monsters a quarter mile long with all those "0"s in the price tags. So , no, my Deep self does not see the big B in the window at this time... Sorry if I derailed a little of the negativity you worked so hard at making... I'm jst in a mood I guess... ?

  24. The account its should have gone back to I can't access on line and I'm long way from home. Will have to go to a branch to verify... The second set is supposed to be FCC and they say May 22? Who knows...
  25. Todays questionable update... They said they put it back in my account 3 days ago but bank says nope... I got my cancelled excursions within hours of manually cancelling them so bank does real time... If it is actually refunded I can see I will have to go line by line to make sure the amounts are correct...
