  1. That's good to know! What happens if the agency can't sell a the cabins purchased?
  2. Welcome to the board @Cruisealot2020 that's a large amount in difference. Not sure why it's that different without knowing what you told the agent. I know my MEI travel agent uses several options when looking at cruise fares. Like age, residence, C&A status, special offers etc. The advantage of using a travel agent is if there's a problem they will handle it for you. You don't waste your time on the phone or emails with Royal. Plus most travel agent offer a perk of some kind for booking with them as the cruise line pays them a commission.
  3. WOW! That's crazy!! They can't use technology to determine it's you? I'd quit if they dragged me back from vacation. Dispatchers here don't make enough for that inconvenience.
  4. Yes, that's why I asked for help with what I listed originally. Hope you work in the judicial system?
  5. WOW! I got it last cruise because it costs so much to cruise. Glad to read that your husband is fine. My biggest concern is medical evacuation. Especially if you are far from adequate medical care. Taking a medical evacuation can cost thousands if not hundreds of thousands. That's why people buy insurance not because you know you need it but in case you need it.
  6. @twangster thank you so much for blogging your insurance claim experience. Would you get Allianz insurance again? Was going to get it but maybe I'll get travel Guard?
  7. @twangster would you mind telling me which insurance you used when you had so much difficulty? Never mind just saw your blog.
  8. Has anyone used the claims process? It may offer really good coverage but how about getting a claim filed and settled?
  9. Thank you @Momof4crazytocruiseand @WAAAYTOOOI'll look into those.
  10. Looking for recommendations for travel insurance please. Things that I'd want covered are preexisting medical conditions, cancel for any reason, medical evacuation. Looked at the one from Royal Aon and Costco travel uses Travel Guard. Any other suggestions appreciated.
  11. Now that it was mentioned it was a text from Cellular@sea didn’t know what that was. Then I realized that my phone wasn’t in airplane mode. Didn’t get a bill, just curious what that was.
  12. Hmmm maybe I should look into this? Thanks! Did this cruise have Glacier Bay? If it did it's been modified.
  13. When I was on the Allure I asked my waiter about gratuities. He said that seniority played a part in the percentage. My cabin attendant also said the same, he was in training and would be moved to general cabins next sailing. He said cabin attendants want the Suites because it pays more and less cabins to service.
  14. Strange just checked and the itinerary still shows Glacier Bay as a destination. Wonder how many people will cancel their cruise? I was looking at doing a Glacier Bay cruise on Royal.
  15. @CHRIS WONG do you or family members get discounted rates for cruises? Do you get discounted airfare or hotel rates?
  16. Hopefully my MEI t/a is holding a Junior suite. Depends on how much vacation time I'll get next year. Doing Alaska next year on NCL because we did our honeymoon on them. Plus NCL has been in Seattle for 20 years next year. But I really enjoy Royal so I'm looking at more cruises on Royal. Hopefully Europe, Asia, and Australia.
  17. Thought he likes Windjammer all the time? I've seen him talk about Izumi a lot on YouTube.
  18. Well that doesn't make sense. The ship hadn't even castoff yet. So the only thing I can think of was it was "just" a text "welcoming" me to their service? As I said before I should have just asked the Oracle @twangster! Haha!
  19. Oh this is something Royal turns on? Well next time I'll turn on airplane mode while boarding. Thanks!
