In the middle of the Atlantic the air temperature is usually pretty close to the sea temperature as there is no land to influence it.  My transatlantic is a couple weeks after yours.
I'll bring some long pants, a couple pairs of shorts, some t-shirts, some long sleeve shirts, a light jacket and a rain coat just in case it's raining anywhere along the journey.   If you tend to run on the cool side, bring a sweater or two, fleece or medium jacket, depending where you are from.  Me in Colorado will find it easier to deal with moderate temperatures compared to someone from Florida.  
Formal isn't as formal as it used to be.  That is personal though.  Many people like to dress up but that isn't an absolute requirement.  Many people will appear 'business casual' even on formal nights.

Hello All,
I started listening to the podcast this week so decided to jump on over here.  I have cruised twice, but was hooked by the end of the 2nd night.  My wife has taken a RC cruise once before, I will get the opportunity Dec 2020 On the Oasis of the Seas. My wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and myself will be on the cruise.  I have sailed on Disney and NCL.  I wasn't impressed by what was available on Disney, but I really enjoyed the Escape with NCL.  The only drawback was a few service issues where the staff were less than pleasant.  But, that wouldn't ruin a vacation for me.  I am super excited to take this trip even thought we have over 640 days left.  I have been researching everything I can about the ship and tips from the pros.  I really hope to take a cruise every couple of years.  I want to see more of this world and I am finding cruising is a great way to do it.  Yes I might only get 1 day in a port, but there are plenty of options to choose from.  I have heard nothing but good stuff about the community here and I look forward to being a part of ti. 

Welcome @DublinFC I hope you have a great time on your cruise.  I think you will really be wowed by Oasis and find that Royal offers a great value for everything you get including the service and amenities on the ships.  Maybe you will find yourself cruising every year instead of every couple of years after your cruise.

You would have a great time on that cruise.  There aren't hidden costs that are going to make up that price difference.  The only additional cost would be sodas are not included on Royal.  Otherwise, enjoy the value the you will find on RCCL and book that cruise.
