  1. Awesome!!!!
  2. I like the Powerade options along with the flavors that aren’t available at the bars….the various cream sodas, root beer, etc, plus I like to mix different concoctions My tastes tend to be kinda eclectic.
  3. I appreciate the good info everyone. Thank you!!!
  4. Yup. It sure is. It’s been the same throughout the whole process Thanks!!! The Canada cruise in October will put us up after the first night, which means we’ll be Diamond on our back to back in February.
  5. It’ll be interesting to see what happens since we booked in January 2020 for an August 2021 sailing, then L&S to and August 2022 sailing….then we decided to upgrade our cabin from Inside to Balcony in December 2021. Double points really doesn’t matter. One way or the other we’ll eventually have 80 points. It’s the cruising we focus on
  6. I am one of those people. I canceled my soda package for our upcoming Liberty cruise when I read that she has no Freestyle machines.
  7. If we get double points for our august cruise, we’ll be at 79. We’re not sure if we will because it was booked before the shutdown but lifted/shifted during the double points promotion. If we don’t get double, we’re ok with it. We’re still on track to hit 80 before our Italy cruise in 2023.
  8. I realize price is subjective, but I wouldn’t pay that. Our first few times we just did the complementary things and git the lay of the land. I’m glad we did. I personally think this is a good way to do it.
  9. Yup. I fall asleep all the time in the Solarium. As a matter of fact, our days sound a lot like yours The only time I truly do nothing is on a cruise…..even when I take a work vacation and stay home, there are dozens of things I need to get done around the house….and if we go to our off grid place, the to-do list multiplies. So when you see someone sleeping in a lounge chair, remember that it could be someone like me….someone who is exhausted from their daily grind and is living their best cruise life
  10. We have been five times and only spent money once when we booked the Beach Club for around $70 pp to try it out We have never felt the need to spend on anything other than that one time, and we’ve always enjoyed ourselves.
  11. The only time we’ve ever had longer than a couple minute interaction with a head waiter was when we were on Adventure out Nassau last year and we were literally the only people in the dining room section. We got to know the head waiter, along with our waiters extremely well.
  12. With the included gratuities, you either pay in advance or pay at the end of your cruise. If you pay at the end, you can see them added daily when you look at your account via the app or the in cabin TV. You’ll settle up at the end of your cruise either with the card on file or I guess you could pay cash at guest services. We choose to pay at the end of our cruises, but everyone is different. It works for us, and that’s all that matters. We would never cancel the automatic gratuities, and we do give cash tips the last day for outstanding service….although after 30+ years in retail, we would have to have had some absolutely horrible service to not give some extra cash tip to our waiters, cabin steward, etc. ymmv
  13. Definitely. The lowest allowed bid is $195. I was surprised. We’re certainly not expecting to get upgraded for $500, but that’s what we can comfortably spend, so we figured why not submit a bid.
  14. To me, NAS means Naval Air Station.
  15. Since this thread is active again….. I haven’t seen a lot of recent Royal Up info, so here’s our latest. We did not receive an email. I checked myself and was given options to bid on a Spacious Oceanview Balcony, Junior Suite, both one and two bedroom Grand Suites, Owners Suite, and Royal Suite. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade Sail date: August 28 on Liberty. Current cabin: Oceanview Balcony. Bid for: Grand Suite-One Bedroom Our bid of $250 pp barely moved the needle. It’s solidly in the “Weak” zone I doubt our weak bid will be accepted, and that’s okay because we’re content with the cabin we currently have. In addition, suites are currently “sold out” online.
  16. It’s so hard to say. I think anything would just be a WAG. Conventional wisdom says when your bid says “pending” and you can’t modify it, then the bid is successful….but…. Being so close to your sail date makes me skeptical that it’s successful. All of our successful bids have been accepted at least a week out.
  17. I haven’t seen much lately, but earlier in the year, the town council was looking at limiting cruise ships because they felt the town was being overwhelmed (my own paraphrasing of articles I’ve read).
  18. Bay Harbor is not overly cruise ship friendly. This may play a part.
  19. I wish we could. I have one more week of vacation to use before the end of the year (or I lose it), and this was the only open week. Normally we’d go to camp, but every time we go there, we end up working harder than we do at our real jobs, so we decided to take a real vacation. Boston being only a two hour drive helped us decide, too.
  20. We just yolo booked Voyager on October 23, 2022. The two hour drive to Boston for embarkation is going to be nice.
  21. Yea, we just booked Voyager for October 23rd. Boston is a two hour drive from where we live in Maine, and since two of our three kids live in Mass, we’re going to visit them after the cruise.
  22. We’re trying to decide between this Voyager sailing or Oasis out of NJ. The week of October 23rd is the last week that I can take a vacation before January and I will lose my time if I don’t use it.
  23. We noticed this as well. Back in November we did a 3-night/4-night back to back on Freedom. The Friday to Monday leg was much rowdier than the Monday to Friday leg. We had a Promenade View Interior and the people watching was top notch.
  24. I posted this in another thread about Boston pre-cruise lodging. Others have commented as well.
  25. I’ve found people in general have become more confrontational over the past couple years…Add alcohol and you have a recipe for disaster.
