  1. They are included in the total.
  2. Exactly. Last year due to a Cruise Planner issue (a technical issue, not of my doing), my Alaska sailing got canceled 30 days prior to sailing. Just....gone. The amount of time and expertise it took for my TA (thank you @michelle and @Beci) was unbelievable. And this was all over Mother's Day weekend. I would not have had the time (as I worked all weekend) or the knowledge to reinstate this sailing and all cruise planner purchases (without losing any money). I will never sail without a TA. They are worth their weight in gold, and then some.
  3. Most RoyalUp opportunities won't be offered that far in advance.
  4. This is an option at check-in (both on the app and on the website).
  5. Over Thanksgiving this year.
  6. That varies from ship to ship, geographic location, and/or location on the ship. Alaska can be sketchy (but since the ports are in the US, it's easy to catch up with people on port days). In general, the Caribbean is pretty good, but there may be weak spots.
  7. Wifi calling/texting will work with Voom. You're good to go.
  8. I love popcorn, but I'm also ok that it's not offered very much. Its presence in public areas ALWAYS (and I do mean always) creates a mess.
  9. We're glad to have you here! The emblem displayed here on the forums simply reflects how many posts we've made here and does not relate at all to our actual Crown & Anchor status. As you interact more here your status will move up the "ranks".
  10. You may find some help here:
  11. The price may go down, but it may go up. The danger is it selling out completely.
  12. They are typically in 15-minute increments until 9pm. I can't remember what time the reservations begin (5? 5:30? Certainly by 6).
  13. Yes, with either one.
  14. I've successfully brought similar on board, but it always varies by who's checking, unfortunately. I'd definitely recommend putting it in your carry on.
  15. The only theme nights I've ever noticed on Royal Caribbean are 70's night and 80's night. Not all sailings do both. Only a few people dress up.
  16. There is a small population of cruisers who like to bring toy ducks (plastic or plush) and hide them around ships. They are usually tagged with a cute message about being lucky to have found a duck, and sometimes a website or Facebook page where you can report where you found the duck. It is then left to the finder to either keep the duck or rehide it for someone else to find. Are ducks necessary? Cruise ducks are not. It's totally your choice whether or not to participate in this game. Same with decorative door magnets. Some people love to decorate their doors. It can also help some people to find their cabins easier. I did it once and half of it was stolen in the first 3 hours, so I personally don't bother. But, again, this is just a personal thing whether or not you want to participate in it. Most first-time cruisers don't participate in either activity. There's no wrong decision. Enjoy your sailing!
  17. Please edit the subject line to include the date of your cruise (not just month/year). Thank you.
  18. You can cancel the day bed on the Cruise Planner and then rebook the cabana. The money from the cancelation of the day bed will be refunded to your original form of payment, usually within 7-10 business days.
  19. If this is a closed-loop sailing (returning to the same port from which you left) and you are American, you could use a certified birth certificate to board the ship. On port days you typically just need a photo ID (rarely requested to reboard, but it does happen) and your sea pass card to get off the ship. However, having a passport is always recommended because if something happens while you are in port and you cannot reboard the ship and would need to fly home from that foreign port, it is much more challenging to do without one. You would have to find the nearest US Embassy, which is not always close to every port (Costa Maya and Cozumel are examples of this). A medical issue in port, injury (think hit by a car, broken leg - it happens), or a significant problem with the ship that would cause all passengers to be disembarked at a foreign port (I'm looking at you, NCL)... https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/topics/travel-documents
  20. Everyone was refunded one day of our Quantum sailing in Alaska because nobody could log on at all. YMMV.
  21. I honestly do not remember. Sorry.

  23. NCL messed with us. They said in one place that we could not bring an extension cord. They asked us to fill out a special needs form so they could supply us with one for Mr. SpeedNoodles' CPAP, and then sent us an email at the same time that also said that they can not guarantee that they will be able to supply us with one and that we should bring one. Geez, people, make up your mind already, lol.
  24. I never assume that there will be anywhere secure to store anything, so I always bring a wet bag that I can secure to something (preferably that something is me, so I have one that will secure around my waist), to put my cell phone, cash, seapass card/ID).
