  1. There are no hotels really near the port. Most people stay downtown (which is less than a 10-minute Lyft ride to the port). We always stay at one of the Hyatts downtown. (We've stayed in all 3 - they are all great).
  2. The luggage goes on the tour bus with you (lots of storage underneath). Enjoy!
  3. This is a frequent issue. Log out, go have some fun, check it again in a few hours.
  4. You will just use your Set Sail pass (on app or printed) until you get your Sea Pass card. Often, just telling them what cabin you are in is enough. You can get your cups at any bar (adult/kid, doesn't matter). They are what you would use at the soda Freestyle machines. Enjoy!
  5. Yes, of course. You may always choose to dine anywhere else at any time during your sailing.
  6. As long as you have the proper documentation to board the ship, you have what you need for the duration of the sailing.
  7. Portland is a very walkable, friendly town. It's one of our very favorite ports. We always explore on foot, have some awesome lobster rolls, find a friendly bar, or do some shopping.
  8. If you are by yourself, I see no problem with it (mostly because that's what I did). If you have MyTime Dining you will have a table for one. You will be seated with others if you chose Traditional Dining. Many of the tables are very close together. I found that, as a solo, I was often invited into conversations with nearby tables. Having your nose in a book will more than likely discourage this. Enjoy!!!!
  9. Compasses aren't available until the ship sets sail (and then, only day-by-day). You can see previous Cruise Compasses here: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass
  10. Hiro is fantastic. We saw it 3 times on our Symphony sailing.
  11. I'd totally charge for popcorn because it's a fracking mess. Also, I check my folio at least every other day, if not every day.
  12. The electrical outlet in the bathroom is for electric shavers only (no idea what the difference is). The electrical outlet near the vanity in the room has both a US standard as well as a European. I use this for my blow dryer.
  13. I didn't see those listed on Wonder, but yes, those are options on some ships.
  14. Ha, I had it and rewrote my post then missed it.
  15. You can carry it back on a plate. I usually just put one plate upside down on top of the other plate if the food is not too "tall".
  16. Welcome to the forums! There are many dining options that are included with a Royal Caribbean sailing. The following restaurants are included on Wonder of the Seas: Coastal Kitchen (if booked in a suite), El Loco Fresh, Park Cafe, Solarium Bistro, Sorrento's Pizza and Windjammer (buffet), You can always explore your options on the Royal Caribbean App. Click on "dining" and all restaurants on the ship will be listed. Those with a ($) have a charge. Anything without that will be included in your fare. Water, tea, basic coffee, juices (not freshly squeezed), and lemonade are included with meals. Soft drinks are either a la carte or included in a drink package. I wouldn't pay double or triple the fare I'd have to in order to sail with Disney just to avoid paying for soft drinks. Have a wonderful time!
  17. I would never argue that they aren't great about communicating things properly!
  18. Playing devil's advocate, could it be that the days they would have had to visit a Hawaiin port in order to arrive in Vancouver on time had no berthing spots? It's not like a big ship can just decide to go to a different port and that port has room or has to accept them. I certainly recognize that it's very disappointing, and not at all the cruise you intended to take, though.
  19. Sure, there's more than one terminal available.
