  1. Bring “European to US” outlet adapters so you can use the European outlets in the room. There are about two of them, I think. Bear in mind they are 220V, not 110V
  2. Hi all! Several friends of mine are sailing on the Mariner in June (8 staterooms in all... and counting). I wanted to help them plan for their cruise since many of them are first-time cruisers. May I request for uploads of the Cruise Compass from those sailing on the Mariner from Orlando soon? In the archives, we only have one that sailed from Miami in March. Calling the attention of @CruiseLife72(May 6), @jaguarsfanfl (May 10), and @ashleybee (May 27).
  3. If they're refunding the cruise fares, giving out C&A points wouldn't hurt Royal that much more.
  4. It’s sad to hear about stories like this but two things in the article sound odd. First - about them being “made to believe” RCCL operated the Zip Line. I’ve always seen the disclaimers about third party operators. Second - the collision itself. I’ve just been on the zipline excursion in Antigua and the staff members were pretty strict about waiting for the go-signal before going on the line.
  5. Yes, it could have been that. This incident got my attention because from what I know about guest relations, crew members usually try their best to comply with the guests' (reasonable) request. Even if it was against policy, the usual reply would be, "Let me see what I can do about it." I asked very nicely and respectfully and I felt "scolded" in return. I guess this Floridian is just used to being asked by Disney cast members, "How can I make your day magical?" LOL
  6. Thanks for the tip. I tried reducing the file size but it made the PDF almost unreadable. So I took the Dropbox route and sent the link to @Matt.
  7. I liked having Peppermint tea several times a day during my recent Serenade cruise. Cafe Latte-tudes did not have it at first so I got Peppermint tea bags from the free beverage stations and asked for hot water in disposable cups from the baristas at Latte-tudes... no issues. One night, I asked for a disposable cup from the barista at Park Cafe after presenting my Seapass card to show that I had the Refreshment Package. He gave me one with much hesitation, even telling me that cups were for those getting coffee from his station. What was up with that? From the cost perspective, it would have cost RCCL more if I had asked for coffee instead of an empty cup. I had the drink package, so I could have gotten all the coffee I wanted. Was this a case of a lack of common sense or was it about some points the crew members get from a point system for the number of guests they served?
  8. I wasn't billed for prepaid gratuities before my November 2018 cruise on the Serenade. Instead, $14.50 was added to my bill everyday (in the afternoon/early evening) during the cruise. My Apple Wallet notified me every time the daily gratuity was charged on my card. It was also posted daily on my Portfolio in the "Royal App".
  9. I've been trying to send PDFs of the Cruise Compasses for my 11-night Serenade cruise via email. I'm getting an error message saying the file is too large. What should I do?
  10. I’ve just been on that cruise last week. I didn’t get any vaccinations.
  11. Blessings to you as well @bcarney! I’m glad to have met you and your family too. I don’t have a family of my own so I sort of enjoy family life vicariously through families around me. Seeing you with your lovely family, whether it was watching eggs drop from the upper decks or beating the competition at the Boat contest or just simply being together as a family, was always an awesome sight for me on the cruise.
  12. This was what was in my ocean view room on the Serenade. (Just got home from that ship today) From what I remember, that was also what I had on the Majesty and the Harmony (balcony room) last year. The Harmony had a newer dispenser but the shampoo/bodywash was the same.
  13. I had that moment while paying for my sandwich at the airport. It felt weird taking my wallet out of my pocket to pay for food.
  14. I met a couple on my recent cruise who I had to coordinate with for our meeting time and place. The voicemail on the stateroom phone worked for us. I’m thinking, if the parents and the kids are staying in the same stateroom, they can use the phones in the public areas to call the stateroom phone and leave a voicemail. The intended recipient can then access the voicemail. If they’re in separate rooms, they can call each other and leave voicemails.
  15. You’re welcome. I’ll be posting some more from the last day as soon as I settle in back home. The “post cruise depression” was kicking in yesterday I didn’t feel like adding to the blog.
  16. I did and it was great. I told him to develop it into a comedy act. He kept us entertained for a good 30-40 minutes.
  17. They did rock and roll covers of many artists... can’t recall them all... Elvis, Chuck Berry, Del Shannon, Roy Orbison...
