If you will only have a passport with you, it would be good to jot down your reservation number so they can access your reservation faster. I always get my first and last name switched so having a reference number speeds things up.

I have been monitoring the prices for the Empress sailing for November 15, 2019. They have been going down steadily for the past two weeks. The OV (1N) I've been looking at started at $1,101+ and has gone down to $950+. Yesterday, it went down to $827+ so I ask my MEI TA to book it for me. We agreed to put it on hold until tomorrow just in case it goes down again. It has gone down again tonight to $777+ My question is, do I wait for my TA to book it for me tomorrow morning or do I book it myself tonight. I'm afraid Royal might "correct the intern's error" (LOL) and raise the prices by morning. BTW, those prices are for a solo traveler, in case you're wondering. ATTN: @StephanieH ... I saw you react to one of my posts just now... wink

I've checked out the most recent Cruise Compasses from the Empress. I can't seem to find a place that serves specialty coffees on board. Do they have them on Empress? Bottled water and specialty coffees are the main reason why I buy the Refreshment Package. If I can't get the coffees, I'll skip the package. I can always get my water from the WJ.

Hmmm... that’s like partially doing an item on my bucket list. I want to fully cross the canal, not turn back halfway. Time to look at open loop cruises. Thing is, airfares coast to coast cost the price of a weekend cruise.

I am looking at this closed-loop Panama Canal sailing on the Rhapsody. How will this go? Will it cross the entire canal or will it turn around at Lake Gatún?

Will the lobster quality in the New England cruises be any different?

I can relate. I leave my wallet in the room safe while on board. I find myself tapping on my back pocket to check for the wallet many times during the day.

Same here, I prefer the card. The only time I used the WOW band was to open my stateroom door. At the MDR and most bars on the Harmony, I was asked to take off the WOW band for them to scan whenever I ordered a drink... not very convenient.

I don't expect guests to be germophobes but I do expect everyone to practice the most basic hygiene and food safety principles. WARNING: THIS MAY BE GROSS On my recent sailing, someone in the Windjammer on the Ovation picked his nose and then proceeded to hold the serving spoon to get his food. I often wish I had gloves while getting my food at the WJ for this reason. Even if they had already done the "washy-washy" at the entrance, you'll never know what they've gotten on their hands once inside.

I don't like having the luggage tags on my bags when I fly to the port. With the plastic sleeves, it's very easy to attach them at the port. Not only that, if it were raining on embarkation day, I don't have to worry about soaked/damaged luggage tags.
