Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston
HtownHolly replied to Jessica G's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
And we are on Liberty for 8/15... on hold to find out now. -
Riddle me this: Independence to Galveston?
HtownHolly replied to SpeedNoodles's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Well now this is interesting. I saw the news about Liberty being cancelled through 8/8 and Indy possibly going out of Galveston... we are on Liberty 8/15 out of Galveston, so... huh. I wonder how that's going to shake out for us? -

I don't know - I've only been in a room where they came down from the ceiling.
-
Pullmans would come down from the ceiling or fold down from the wall. The ones coming out of the couches are called pull-outs ?
-
Y'all are both my kind of people.

I've been kind of awful in the past when I have seen the same stuff sitting unmoved on a chair for over an hour... I'll set the stuff on the ground where the chair is, and drag the chair off to another area/spot. I fry up like a lobster easily, so just need shade. Not particular about where that is either, so... I've never been around later to witness fallout from this strategy.

Investor call this coming week
HtownHolly replied to HtownHolly's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Oh yeah, familiar with the calls. I figured this was part of what analysts might ask to prod for indicators of financial health and mid-range capex spending plans.... which are pretty important in the industry. -
I may actually listen in this time around. Curious to hear what their plans for amplification are (we will be on Allure in December 2022, and wondering if it'll happen before then - current deck plans do not show that in place yet) and with the Galveston port. Anyone else here planning to listen? What will you be interested in hearing about, the most?

I'll chime in with agreement on finding rooms. I would much prefer to see which rooms are available, and then what it takes to book that room - 2 people? 3? 4? Etc. And show the cost (options). It's so much click click click click. Laborious. Aside from business decisions, I'll also agree with chair hogs and elevator issues.

You’ll have to have it associated with the new sailing. Once you know what the certificate numbers are for your onboard credit, you can either call RC or use your TA to get them applied, and then they should show up in your cruise planner.

I've seen folks mention in several places (not just here) about rebooking to upgrade or change rooms. Are you doing this with refundable deposit rate rooms or...? I've always gone with non-refundable rates to save on the costs, but involving non-family in plans is difficult because of less incentive to commit (especially for those who haven't cruised before - weirdos), and so I'm wondering if going with a refundable deposit rate might be a better idea, if we wind up changing out who goes, or which room folks would stay in. Is there any benefit to the refundable deposit rate other than just "I had to cancel the whole thing, so this won't cost me anything out of pocket" or are there other circumstances under which is would help?

Allure CP Cabins with larger balconies
HtownHolly replied to HtownHolly's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks all! Looks like the balconies near the elevators don't get that extra square footage. Much appreciated!! -

Yup, she did - for the ones confirmed with larger balconies ? I'm not having any luck finding pix of the ones by the elevator banks, though (the blue arrows). -
Allure CP Cabins with larger balconies

Ah right, but there's also white space at the other two cabins I am looking at... I guess to accommodate the elevator banks. Just wondering if it extends the same way as the ones by the Living wall. Sounds like probably not, though. -

Yeah, been trying to find those, but only hitting like Cruisecritic with either generic shots from the ground, or pictures of the bathrooms. That kind of thing. ? -
I saw an article here from 2016 about the extra large CP balconies on Allure. It mentions 10229 & 10629, 11229 & 11629 and 12229 & 12629 (the red arrows below) Looking at the deck plan at least, it would SEEM that the cabins 255 and 655 (the blue arrows) are the same shape and thus might also have the extra-large balconies? Anyone know if this is the case?
