  1. @CAL7285 We may be interested in the wine tour if you are on the Jewel. Can you send information about the tour?
  2. Grab a taxi ( under ($10) go to Pancho’s Backyard downtown and have the best margaritas in the country, a fabulous Mexican meal and be entertained by the marimba players in a beautiful setting. Then shop in the adjacent shop Los cinco Soles for high quality clothing and decor made in Mexico. Finally visit the tequila tasting bar and bring home a couple of bottles of tequila at a great price. We follow this regimen every time we port in Cozumel. Worth the whole trip !
  3. I got a phone call from the doctor's office a while ago apologizing for my not being able to get the scopolamine patch. She said it is backordered everywhere and there is no generic or substitute. Also my prescription drug supplier Express Scripts said there is no generic. So I don't know what generic your pharmacist was talking about. Scopolamine is the name brand and it is definitely not available. I still plan on calling some independent pharmacies this week. Maybe I will hit on a hidden stash somewhere.
  4. Alaska would be a relaxing cruise and lots of sightseeing tours, however, the weather can be iffy that late in the season. If you go then, take flannel shirts, warm jacket and a hat. It is definitely something everyone should see at least once. We are actually going on a Mediterranean in 12 days and it looks like the weather will be ideal and the crowds are certainly down at this time of year. This will be our first in that part of the world so I can't really comment other than say I am super excited. Even though I haven't been on the Mediterranean cruise yet, it would be super romantic for a honeymoon so that's my vote for what it's worth.
  5. The pharmacist said he doesn't know why it is unavailable but none of the major pharmacies in our town have any. Neither the doctor nor the pharmacist was able to offer a substitute. There are a couple of local, not chain, pharmacies and I guess I could check with them. Thanks!
  6. After months of waiting for the cruise to the Mediterranean on October 24, I have been struggling with vertigo for the first time in my life. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a treatment scheduled for next week which hopefully will be successful. My questions are has anyone cruised with vertigo and how did you manage it? The doctor ordered prescriptions of Scopolamine patch and Meclizine in case I develop nausea on the ship. I have never been seasick but I need to be prepared with the vertigo added to the mix. Question 2-the pharmacy just called and said they have not been able to get the Scopolamine patch in at least 6 months and there is no substitute. Do you have an idea of what I can use instead? Of course, I don't want to spend my cruise either sick or sleepy. Thanks in advance.
  7. Before I got the plastic sleeves, I used packing tape to completely cover them, then stapled the ends together.
  8. I wish they would cancel formal night altogether. We mostly ignore it anyway, but do bring dressy casual for formal night. The big issue is the cost of paying for baggage fees if you have a heavy suit and dress shoes etc. that make you go over the limit. I know they make a lot of money on photographs on formal night, so I am sure it will go on.
  9. We were not in a GS on the Vision last April, but in a balcony cabin. I realized I had left a library book in the cabin on the sofa. It was a very popular book, The Woman in the Window, and I had 20 or so pages to finish. We were actually still in the parking lot when I realized it was in the cabin. I immediately contacted the lost and found by email and gave cabin number and location. Amazingly, it was never found. I guess the crew enjoyed it in their crew library and I had a hefty fine at the library to replace it.
  10. @twangster , you always have a hack for every problem with the website! This one must be a doozy!
  11. That has never happened to me in 17 RCCL cruises including the Liberty. I have also been on cruises to Europe, Panama Canal etc. They hand the passports back so you can carry them to port.
  12. I use my Diamond benefits at the bar and occasionally order a Makers Mark Manhattan which actually isn't covered by the benefit. However, I have never had a bartender charge me for it and I always leave an extra tip! We love the Viking Crown lounge and get to know the bartender there.
  13. We are leaving October 24 and we booked the cruise last February. We booked the Air2Sea at the same time. Maybe you should give them a call if you’re not getting the flight schedule.
  14. @Twangster, I too used the wrong term. The child I mentioned was actually our grandson who does not share our address but did share our cabin for the cruise. And it makes sense about the young family on the Vision. Now I wonder about the other two 17 year old grandchildren we are taking in June 2019 on the Liberty. They will be sharing a cabin with us also. We will be D+ for that cruise..
  15. Entry into the Diamond lounge seems to be decided by the concierge. Last year they allowed our 18 year old to go in with us because he was in our cabin. Recently I saw a young family parents and two young children in the Diamond club on the Vision.
  16. Thanks for stepping in to help. I am sure it will be settled and all will work out fine. Glad Michelle followed up yesterday.
  17. Michelle at MEI was calling to confirm the schedule change yesterday but said it will be another 24 hours at least until documents are delivered. Will let you know when they are received.
  18. Since someone called it to my attention that the reason I did not get my edocs with luggage tags on the 49th day, it might be because I used AIR2SEA and the edocs would be delivered on the 30th day. So I have been patiently waiting for day 30 which was yesterday and still nothing. I called the TA who checked on my reservation only to find out she was told because I had received an email September 7 with a minor (a few minutes) change in air schedule, they could not deliver the documents until I had confirmed the change and accepted the new schedule. I have received at least three of these emails in the past, none more than just a tweaking of the arrival or departure by more than a few minutes and never confirmed any of them NOR does the email ask for or even mention the need to do so. If they are going to hold up the documents, the email should at least notify you of the need to confirm. Is this unique to my situation or has someone else had this experience? It does ruffle my feathers a little to blame the snafu on me not doing my part. The MEI TA did not appear to be aware of this requirement either. Just askin'.
  19. Yes, I remember asking for them but thought maybe that was a disappearing benefit. Thanks.
  20. We used to get robes in our cabin for being Diamond C&A members! Is that just a memory now???
  21. We are Diamond and took our son and fiancée with us on Liberty. We all went on at the same time.
  22. Thanks for sharing. I m sure most parents are considerate like you but this was an especially unpleasant experience for us or I would never have mentioned it. My husband reminded me of some details I had left out. The 8-10 adults sat at a table across from us and put the 6 or so children at a separate table behind us, ergo the running from table to table. I felt The hostess should not have allowed that or should have said something to them. But it was years ago and hasn’t kept us from cruising again nor eating in Chops. I didn’t understand you were familiar with how leisurely the dining is in Chops but you are obviously experienced. I sincerely hope you enjoy your cruise.
