  1. Excited to see what you think, I’ll be on Adventure for Halloween in 2019
  2. Ah, thanks for the clarification, my last cruise was 10+ years ago, so my terminology is off-par. I'm interested to see how full the Mariner will be the week before Thanksgiving as most are still in school. Hopefully not as crowded as we're (boyfriend and I) are excited to check out the FloRider and the new additions to the ship. (Thanks for the help!)
  3. Hello everyone, 10+ years ago, my family and I were offered an upgrade (note: not on RCCL) from a balcony to a penthouse suite (yes you read that right) for about $300 total. Does RCCL do upgrades? I have a cruise booked for November on the Mariner and I was wondering do upgrades happen, do you request them? Right now the price of an inside cabin (which is what I am currently booked in) and an oceanview cabin are the same. If we don't get an upgrade its not the end of the world, but I'm just curious as to how that works. TIA!
  4. Very excited to hear your opinion of the Mariner. I will be on her in November and she will be my first RCCL cruise and my first cruise in a 10 years! I've only cruised Carnival and NCL prior.
  5. Interested to see your opinions. Booked Adventure for next October (yes a lot can change I know). Will be on her for an 8-nighter (that goes over Halloween).
  6. Does RC do spa tours? If so do y’all think they are good to do? Get anything out of them?
  7. I’m dealing with this too. We live about 3-4 hours away and are trying to decide if a hotel room the night before that is over a third of our cruise cost is worth it on top of port parking. May just suck it up and drive down the morning of.
  8. Is the deal for only Non-Refundable deposits? Either way I've reached out to our TA, that would give me a $100 more in OBC (for Oct. 2019) and $50 more for my 2018 cruise
  9. What is the pros and cons for both (I know they will change for each person).
  10. What do ya'll classify as a mid-size ship? Like what class? Would Voyager class (Mariner, Adventure, etc.) be considered mid-size?
  11. Can anyone think of anything that has changed (other than specialty dining) in the past 10 years that I might not be automatically aware of? I'm trying to prepare myself as much as possible.
  12. That's what I am hoping for. Hence picking that size of ship. I've never even been on a ship that large, my largest was NCL Pearl. Anyone suggestions for learning that size of ship or things to ask for from my TA to help learn that size of ship.
  13. Hello All, I am looking/contemplating doing the Blue Lagoon Island Deluxe Beach Break excursion in Nassau. I have been to Nassau numerous times including staying at Atlantis (fully paid for work trip). My boyfriend has never been to Nassau. Since we only have 3 days I was considering not doing any excursions and just getting off to explore Nassau and see the queens stairs and then get back on the ship to explore the rest of the day. Right now I've been offered 20% off the Blue Lagoon excursion which peaks my interest. Has anyone done it? If so worth the money or should we stay on the ship?
  14. I sail mid-November and it appears that we can purchase shore excursions now. I think we are about 200 days out
  15. Thanks! I hope he does. He hates water that he can't see the bottom of and not a fan of boats. So I got us an inside cabin and made sure it was a larger ship so maybe he will forget that its a boat!
  16. @Tiny260 I know I was on the NCL Pearl on one of its inaugural sailings and it was weird with the anytime dining and all the specialty restaurants (i was also spoiled bc we were upgraded to a penthouse suite... yes i know spoiled). I'm excited to see how things cruising wise has changed, hoping my boyfriend loves cruising as much as I do as I have put a deposit down for a cruise on the Adventure (same class i believe) in 2019.
  17. Anyone here been on the Mariner of the Seas (i know its about to go into refurb) and want to give tips for it or RCCL?
  18. Thanks JLMoran. Yea I meant more carry-on wise. I was thinking about bringing a rolling carry on with a change of clothes, 2 bottles of wine, etc and a purse/backpack And check our big bag. Do they limit carry on?
  19. Thanks for your help! Any must dos for the Mariner or for my first RCCL cruise?
  20. Hello All, As the title says, I haven't been on a cruise in over 10 years and my upcoming cruise in November will be my first on RCCL. It seems that a lot has changed since I went last. I have a few questions that I could ask my TA but figured ya'll would be a smidge quicker... 1). Do they still mail your tickets? I'm assuming no after reading a lot about online check-in. 2). How do I change my dining reservation? I know this isn't based on something a while ago, but my BF (his first cruise) and I got 8pm dining, which personally is too late for me. Is there a way to request a change prior to getting on board? 3). Is there a # of bags you can bring on board or are the unlimited? I know I will be stuck with them until the staterooms open. 4). What time can you arrive at port and get on board? Do they sanction what time you arrive (i.e. staggered check in).We are driving down the the Port of Miami the night before and I am hoping to not have to deal with a ton of lines. We are sailing on a 3-night Mariner of the Seas to the Bahamas and Coco Key in mid-November of 2018.
