  1. I know this is a personal preference, but for everyone one who has sailed the Allure of the Seas, what it the one thing I must not miss having on the cruise?. What is the one thing would you must have for dinner/lunch/breakfast on the cruise. I know someone thought the French Toast at CK was great so I have that on my list. I've also put down the BLT Bloody Mary. Thank you for your opinions.
  2. Thank you all. Just don't want to get blindsided and considering all the possibilities that may arise.
  3. We don't plan eating in the MDR. My MIL being elderly and less mobile will probably order food in as she eats quite early. My wife, son, and I plan to tour the specialty restaurants. Do we still have to schedule a seating time for the MDR?
  4. Burger King also uses them in many locations.
  5. We are on the Allure on the 09/02/18 cruise and wonder where the best places to go snorkeling and seeing sea life. From reviewing posts, it appears some place have nothing to see.
  6. Thank you. I will try that. I love French toast. When it is made right it is like bread pudding on a plate.
  7. Everyone's gotten into name branding as justification for charging based on the name. That and the Food Networks are making everyone think a steak is not just a steak and a hamburger is not just a hamburger if a name is associated with it. Using that philosophy, they charge what the market will bear and since people are on vacation even though everyone complains, people will pay it. Heaven forbid they bring an IN n Out on board and start charging for their hamburgers (even though they are pretty good for a hamburger). We usually go to all inclusive resorts because the locales are nice, the service is very good, and the food and drinks are good. Typically the food is local dishes made with local products, but they also offer a variety of other cuisines based on their clientele. At the all inclusives we frequent the guests are mainly European so it is typically American and European standard fare. In Hawaii, it is usually Asian.
  8. Thank you. First RCCL cruise in 20 years. Trying to get everything figured out so I can hit the ground running.
  9. The only midnight buffet I ever saw was in 1997 on the Viking Serenade which as we speak is on its final voyage to the scrap yard. I had to wake myself up to make it there, take a picture, fill a plate, wander back to my room, take a bite, and fall back asleep. This was pre kid clubs and pretty much pre anything except cruising and eating.
  10. Yay!! They have DP. My son will be happy. We weren't sure if they would be able to provide it in the room fridge since it isn't really a Coke product.
  11. When I have to work in NYC, I stay in Islandia and take the train in. Where is the best pizza place nearest the Hyatt Regency?
  12. But you make it inside out. The cheese is supposed to be on top of the sauce.
  13. I have never read so many bad reviews about pizza anywhere before. They much be using drunk monkeys going through withdrawal while working on a one legged stool. My apologies to the monkeys. I am disappointed, I really like pizza and I was looking forward to this. That and pretzels.
  14. Definitely yes!!!. I plan on losing 20lbs before my cruise in September on the Allure. As this is a multi celebration event, we are treating ourselves to Star class and I plan to hit every specialty restaurant and indulge. I am bringing my stretchable waist pants.
  15. Lately I've had better luck with deals with TA's than personally booking. They have the resources and time to get the best prices and perks. We tell them what we want and they are constantly scanning. They can place a hold on a reservation without payment far longer than I could as an individual. On our most recent booking on the Allure of the Seas, our suite was less than we could have gotten it because there was a one day dip in prices which she snagged. They allowed her to hold it for several days before we made a deposit. She thinks it may have been a cancellation. I also found there are some cabins that you cannot book through the website. You either have to call or use a TA. I hate being on the phone. On our previous vacation on Maui, we got a free car rental for a week and breakfasts at the hotel included. I couldn't even find that deal. There is one agent who does YouTube video tours of ships and guarantees he can beat any price. While not true of some local TA's, some TA are parts of larger organizations or associations that due to the number of bookings they provide, get a preferred price or can offer additional perks or credits. if you book through a TA and find a better deal, contact the TA and see what they can do to meet or beat it. And it doesn't cost anymore. That has just been my experience and I can't guarantee your results.
