  1. It is possible that late times are all that’s left. I always book my times as soon as I book the cruise. Don’t think I am alone in that. I would keep checking and if nothing opens up, go to the MDR when you board.
  2. For applying FCC to a new booking by 7/31? Can anyone confirm and post specifics? My brother has 2 certificates that must be used by 5/23.
  3. Have everyone hold their own paperwork. Even a pretty young child can hold onto stuff with a little oversight.
  4. Actually having a hard copy of setsail pass, vax card, test results and ID in hand out and ready is the fastest means of checking in at the port.
  5. I agree if you can take it out immediately you should be able to put it back as fast. However cruise lines are not unique in this. Most companies will list in the fine print of their return policies that it can take 1 or 2 billing cycles for your credit to appear. Just like writing a check (yes I still do write some) that can clear your account overnight but a check deposited can be held for 7 business days. It always takes longer to get your money back. It is NOT FAIR but it is legal. Do you know what the additional charges were for? Towels they show not returned perhaps?
  6. Is it just my eyes or do those 2 JSs have larger than normal balconies? Trying to come up with a replacement cruise for my brother & nephew and am looking at Harmony 7 day WC in May, 2023. And can anyone here confirm Royal is offering $100 OBC for applying FCC to a new booking by July 31?
  7. I do not believe the cruise lines take a cut of the gratuities. And yes, tipping allows an employer to pay reduced wages. It’s a lousy way to earn money but it is engrained in US culture.
  8. Auto-gratuities ARE the same price regardless if you prepay or not.
  9. I can’t imagine if you got in the no reservation line, they’d say “you missed your early seating so no food for you!”??
  10. I say it’s in her blood. I was playing Adelaide in Guys & Dolls when I got pregnant, played the Housekeeper in Man of La Mancha while I was pregnant. And her first experience with theater was running around Jesus Christ Superstar rehearsals when she was 18 months old. Apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
  11. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like there is some confusion here so…. The cruise line charges EVERYONE daily gratuities. This is currently $14.50 pp per day up to a Jr Suite and $17.50 for Grand Suite and above. This amount is automatically charged hence the term Auto-gratuities. You can pay this as part of your cruise fare (prepaid) or it will be charged daily to your on board account. The amount is the same. The difference is pay now or pay then. Up to you which you’d prefer. Personally I prepay. Once on board, many people will ALSO give cash tips to crew members for good service typically wait staff, cabin stewards and bartenders. This is over and above the auto-gratuities. You are also able to decline the auto-gratuities by going to Guest Services and reducing or removing the amount from your on board account. You may then tip personally in the manner you feel appropriate. Forgive me if this explanation is not necessary but I felt like some were getting lost in terminology.
  12. That’s my daughter co-directing!
  13. No Experience with this. I have not read or seen this option. But I’m old, could be there & I didn’t notice. Someone will chime in with the right answer.
  14. The set sail pass is just a temp until rooms are ready & you get your actual Sea Pass card. It’s not something you would use after that.
  15. Just choose a more current sailing. Menus don’t vary much. My Oct 29 sailing isn’t there yet but the Oct 1 is. I expect mine to be the same when it comes out.
  16. I think you are looking at sailing time? You can check in on the app approximately 45 days prior to sailing. That is when you select a check in time to show up at the terminal. That is not the time you actually board the ship but when you are supposed to arrive. Typically starts around 11am
  17. Remember it’s 1.99 per day for each person using the chat app.
  18. And menus are somewhat standard across the fleet so almost any sailing of the same length will be as accurate as they get.
  19. They don’t show on my iPhone in portrait mode, only if I turn to landscape.
  20. OF COURSE, they want Broadway. Hell I want Broadway! Building a resume, not quite at that level yet (or ever) you go where the work is.
  21. IDK but you do not need to reconfirm the reservations you make in the CP. We had great luck with MTD in March with Harmony being about 75% filled. Wasn’t even aware this had become an issue til the posts here & the other cruise board.
  22. A dancer’s dream show. This and A Chorus Line.
  23. In retrospect maybe I should have but it was our first experience so live and learn I guess. I found them rather cool & certainly not welcoming. Felt they really did nothing for us. I did not feel the need to tip. Don’t know when we will get this opportunity again (great deal through a lift & shift).
