  1. Seemed pretty odd to me too. I think ours is the last cruise out of Tampa then Majesty moves to FT Lauderdale? Not sure if that is so or if it has anything to do with it.
  2. We know you’re excited for your upcoming October 29th, 2018, Majesty of the Seas cruise. Before you know it, you’ll be on your way to meet the ship, and as you get ready for your vacation, we wanted to share a quick update with you. While Majesty of the Seas is docked in Tampa, Florida, we will be conducting necessary system maintenance, which must take place before guest’s board. Because of this, we must delay your check- in and subsequently the ship’s departure time. Fortunately, this will not affect your scheduled cruise itinerary! Majesty will depart Tampa at 8:00 PM and check-in will now take place between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM. As a friendly reminder, all guest must be checked in no later than 60 minutes prior to sail time.
  3. Just notified that our 10/29 sailing on Majesty won’t depart until 8pm instead of 4 and we can’t board until 4:30. This cuts that first day really short! Any experience out there with this? Can we really not board til that late? They cite system maintainence as the cause and are comping us a whopping $20 each for the loss of 4-5 hours.
  4. Thank you, we will qualify for both suite & C&A so perhaps our lines will not be too bad. Thanks for the info on parking doctor.
  5. Sorry to ask but i hate not knowing what to expect. Can someone give my the “Boarding for Dummies” version for the Tampa cruiseport? We will be dropping the car off with the Parking Doctors? Seems pretty close to the terminal but dont know yet which terminal exactly. I would tell you our room catergory but I have been accused of mentioning it too often here. Can someone kindly walk me through the process? Thank you!
  6. Thanks, that is actually the one I was looking at.
  7. Thank you. Off site parking runs about half the price of the garage. But I don't know anything about the area or the lots. Does RCCL only use Terminal #2 or does it vary by ship/sailing? If so, how would I find out which terminal we would use?
  8. Any recommendations? Oh, and which terminal does RCCL use there? Thanks Guys!
  9. I don’t know how to tell if I could save more. We currently have 30% off each for 3 adults plus $200 OBC. Our room cat and one above & below are sold out so I can’t do a mock reservation. Any suggestions?
  10. I agree that for a meal labeled "formal night", jeans, dockers, any type of casual wear is not appropriate. Its called formal night for a reason. But at my age (remember me? Old? Grandkids? that I apparently mention too often) I realize I can't control other people's actions, only my own actions and reactions. If people are going to show up dressed informally, nothing I can do about it. I also would prefer women not wear woven dental floss as a swimsuit in public but they don't ask me!!
  11. I never said I am on vacation, I’ll do what I want. Nor am I in any way “flaunting” staying in a GS. I did say I would not attend formal night in the MDR as we don’t care to get dressed up and that should be expected THAT night. However, on the other nights as long as I am neat, clean and presentable, that should be enough to gain access to the dining room. And I dislike people trying to belittle others with comments like the corner bar reference.
  12. I think I may be the “guy” to whom GlennGlenn is referring. BTW I am a 62 year old grandmother of 4. I maintain that my clothing selection should be decent enough to let me eat in the dining room with the grownups. I promise to use my napkin not my sleeve and to chew with my mouth closed. And I cannot begin to tell you how much I resent your incredibly snotty comment that people who don’t live up to your dress code “should be at the corner bar spending their paycheck”. Just the type of elitist attitude found on the Titantic!
  13. I don't know but I am an avid Disney fan and go down there a couple of times a year. And everyone complains about how the Dining Plan as been the ruination of food at WDW. I get great food every time I go. Have I had a bad meal? Yes, but the vast majority of the meals have been delicious. Maybe I'm just not that fussy? Kinda sounds like the same thing here.
  14. If you go to Kennebunkport, be sure to have a lobster roll at the Clam Shack!!! Best by far in the area!!!
  15. Thanks, we are cruising out of Tampa so I guess it doesn’t currently apply to us. Oh well.
  16. I dress every day for work and frankly look forward to not having to on vacation. My husband is a retired truck driver and would dress up only if absolutely compelled to do so. That having been said, we wear clean presentable clothes at all times. He will wear a nice polo or button down shirt with a nice pair of jeans (hates dockers and won't wear them) and me, a nice pair of capris with an appropriate top. That's as dressed up as we care to get on vacation. I won't go to the MDR for formal night as we choose not to get dressed in what I feel is appropriate for that night. BUT I will most certainly dress as stated in the MDR on other nights. I don't feel I should be relegated to the Windjammer buffet because I don't get more dressed up than that. Sorry but that's my opinion.
  17. and that's my plan too. I am a compulsive penny counter and have frequently had less fun because I was watching everything we spent (even though I don't really need to any more). My plan is to grab every drink/specialty beverage I see!!!!!
  18. Who knew ODD was a thing?!?!! My used to be so sweet grandson was just diagnosed with this. He has begun therapy & they are talking about meds too. He lives with us 3 days a week and it has been such a struggle this past year.
  19. I just purchased the Deluxe drink package for our October cruise and the tip was most definitely included in my final cost. That having been said, my husband tends to leave a little something extra for good service even in places where the tip is already included.
  20. Looks like I need a customs tutorial!!
  21. At this point, all Junior and 1 and 2 bedroom grand suites are gone. We got 30% off each of our fares and $200 OPC and 25% off the deluxe drink package. The current sale comes to 25% off the fares & less OBC. But thanks for the advice, i will keep doing the math. Six months to wait not so patiently.
