I'm not sure which sailing you are doing.  But I'm going on Quantum for the 7 night VAN-SEA cruise and you can only get speciality lunch on Days 1, 2, and 6.

We will be on May 13-20 SEA-SEA. We will be traveling in Seattle the day before and after the cruise any suggestions on what to do in Seattle much appreciated. We will stay close to the Pike Place area.  Thinking of getting lunch for all sea days 1,2, and 6.

  2. Never mind, we decided to not get the ultimate dining package because we will be eating local foods at the port more than cruise food.

This will be my first time in Alaska so excited. I am thinking of getting an Unlimited dining package but still not sure. We will be late into Juneau and Victoria at 1 pm. Do the days at Juneau and Victoria specialty restaurants open for lunch for people who buy unlimited dining packages? Anyone get experience with it.

Save your money . Simply read online reviews and you will discover that this is really not a good value. Neither is the beach club .  The waters are never crystal clear from my experience and almost every time I go I see somebody stung by a jellyfish or sea urchin. plus all kinds of critters unbeknownst .  There are only so many hours in that day to use, and you may want to go about and discover the whole island as well. Or spend time in the huge pool.  Ive seen prices as high as $3400 for a hut on the water. Even sharing with others, the price is ridiculously high.

I have to agree with you. I like CocoCay but definitely not at the South beach. The sand on that area was feel like mud when you step on, water was cloudy all the time and has some weird smell in that area. Only 2 nice things there are "Snack Shack" close by and "Swim up Bar". We left after spent an hour there and came back to Chill Island where we belong. We did snorkeling there saw plenty of stingrays and fish.

I don't know what I was thinking...We had a 1 p.m. check-in time and left my house in Saint Cloud at 9:45. Google said it was a 3 hour drive. We pulled into the parking garage at 2:15 and found the not-really-legit parking space at 2:30.

Give yourself plenty of extra time, and have so much fun on the cruise!! I miss the Oasis already!

Thanks again for reply. We are planing to leave at 8 am from the hotel at Universal Orlando but now I worry. I also got the 1 p.m. check in time. Hopefully we do not get the bad traffic or bad weather that day.

Can confirm that it absolutely does. We arrived later than planned due to traffic/weather/general insanity last Sunday (apparently there was flash flooding that caused multiple lanes in the port to be closed last minute, causing utter chaos). There was a sign that said the garage was full, but the attendant told us there were 12 spaces left. When we drove up, the car in front of us took the last legitimate space. Two other cars parallel parked against a random wall. I was too nervous to do that and was anxious that we'd miss the boat if we moved garages, so I asked the attendant where to go and he directed me to squeeze into a little yellow marked-off non-space between two cars. It was a source of semi-anxiety all week as I wasn't 100% sure my car was fine where it was.

Thank you for info but Oh no!! What time did you arrive at the packing garage? We will be driving from Orlando to Miami port this coming Sunday for Oasis OTSs.

  7. When we was on Anthem at the beginning of this month the tribute band was " Slippery When Wet". It is "Bon Jovi" tribute band. They was sound better at 270 than in Music Hall. Recommend to go to 270 for their concert. Just check their website look like they will not be on Anthem because they will be on SC. Not sure what band will be on this coming cruise.

  8. Yes, it depended from Bar to bar and bartender to bartender. My favorite drink Ice ice baby, Goombay smash, Passion Fruit spritz and Boston Ice Tea Party. On the past Anthem trip the best place to get the drink for me was 270 bar and The Pub.  Other places was hit or miss. Either I not had a luck at the indoor pool bar or they was really not good, my drink came from there is not feel right.

What have you heard that wasn’t finished?

On some YouTuber posted said they don't get to see the aqua show because it was not finish when they was on the ship but might be old post. It is just for booking decision. I just started to cruise again after 3 years of pausing it and do not follow any cruise news. Nothing negative about this post so simply asked question.  instead of get the simply answer you asked me back where I heard it from that is so weird???????

You just have to go through immigration - you can get back onto the ship after that.  Nobody said you have to go into town and find something to do.   Personally, for me, it's just not that big of a deal (and it has happened to me).  On our last Canada sailing we had to go through immigration before stopping in Portland (which was our last port).  They did do it on the ship, but we did have to go through it.  It just wasn't that big of a deal. It went very quickly.

It was not about go through immigration. It was about have to wait for 5 hours to get back on the ship for some people. My MIL had to wait 3+ hours to get back on the ship and she is 73.

  11. Ok!!! I am on the same cruise with you. My plan was to take the air boat but I had to cancel it because I don't know when the immigration check in will be completed. We ended up finished everything at 10:30 am which was really late. My mother inlaw was not want to get off the ship for Miami. So she had to wait for all this crazy situation. She ended up waiting for 3+ hours. By the way she is 73 years old. She also had to stand on her feet for a long while before Royal decided to get the chairs for everyone. We came back to the ship about 2:30 or 3 not remembering exactly and my MIL said she just got done with immigration not that long ago. That's not a great experience.

Well Sharla worked her magic and has 3 cabins for our group of 3 couples in April. She got us a group rate. Our balcony cabin (brand new shiny Diamond Plus) is only $3280 with refundable deposit! That’s $800 LESS than our Wonder back in March. Excited to explore this ship and really hoping it’s a good experience for all cruisers and not just families

    Who is Sharla?
