  1. So we're going on our honeymoon out of Miami on Allure April 28th - May 5th. We are then heading to Key West for 3 nights. I'm curious of things to do and places to eat that are can't miss. We're definitely planning on going to the Southern Most Point buoy (which I'm secretly SUPER excited about), but I need some other interesting things. More budget friendly the better.

  2. Thank you, everyone, for the condolences. The Monday of that cruise was actually his 90th and that Friday I got engaged with my grandfather's blessing in the form of a "Love" painted rock found in the port area of Jamaica that someone from Flagler Beach (his home) painted. So it was a bittersweet experience.

Thank you for the update, I’m very sorry for your loss.

Would you mind sharing your travel agents information? My email [email protected]

I actually don't know who the travel agent was as it was my grandfather's and my mom was the one who was in contact with her. Sorry.

@ekaiser0328, any luck on your situation? We’re have a similar issue and curious what worked.

It worked in the sense that we were able to go in place of my grandparents. However it was a special circumstance because not only was my grandfather’s health drastically declining (he actually ended up passing away 10 days before the cruise and his 90th bday) but they had also just been hit by Irma with horrendous flooding in their condo so there was some leeway with us being able to transfer it to our names because they had proof they were in a natural disaster area. We also went through my grandparents’ travel agent who figured out all of the logistics.

Roatan- its located on the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world and snorkeling is fantastic. We snorkeled with Roatan Eco Tours but there are lots of other options.

I told the fiance that on this trip we'll be snorkeling at least once! I've seen pics of Roatan and got SUPER excited! It's a LOOOOONG year away! lol!

  5. Hi all!

So we are going to be on Allure of the Seas for our honeymoon April 28th, 2019. We are setting up a honeymoon fund instead of a registry with physical items because we've been living together for almost 3 years and have everything we need for our house. Anyways, we are wanting to add different experiences both on and off the ship that our family and friends can contribute to as a group. I wanted to see what y'all would recommend. Here's what I've got so far:

    • Sushi lunch for 2 at Izumi
    • Dinner for 2 at Chops
    • Couples deep tissue massage
    • The option to contribute towards our drink package
    • Internet package
    • General fun money

Our stops are Nassau, Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. For those that have been to those ports (except Nassau which will probably be a boat/massage day), are there any experiences or excursions that you would recommend that I can put on the list?

*Please no negative comments about us doing a honeymoon fund. It's the online equivalent of a card box at a wedding, just with those wanting to put towards a specific activity instead of just giving us a check or cash.*

  6. Just wanted to pop in and say hello! I haven't been back on since I went on my Oasis cruise over Thanksgiving. It was wonderful and I fell in love with Cozumel and Labadee. Was absolutely spoiled with our balcony. It ended on a very high note as I got engaged on the second to last night after going to Quest. *yay* And the fiance loved his first cruise so much that we are going to honeymoon on the Allure in April 2019. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who helped with all of my questions I had and who apparently had esp and asked questions I didn't even know I needed the answer to. xoxo to you all!

I did it back in 2010, but it's just like a Build a Bear on land. Pick the type of creature, stuff it, dress it, pay for it.

Did you have a specific concern or question?

Is it in a specific area? I saw the machine in a corridor/hallway type area in the vlog, but in the promo video I found, it showed an actual store. I don’t remember seeing it on the deck plans which is why I was wondering about it.

  8. So this is kind of a random question. On the Oasis of the Seas vlogs on YouTube, I've seen they have a Build-a-Bear-esque machine in a quick glimpse of one of the kid areas. It'll just be me, my boyfriend, and my parents on the cruise, so no kids. However, I would love to make one for my little niece as a gift when we get back. Does anyone have any info about it that they can pass along? It would be greatly appreciated.

  9. So I don't know if I've seen it on here or some where else, but I swear I've seen a specific website that you can book shore excursions through that guarantee to get you back to your ship in time. I know this has probably been asked a million times, and I apologize ahead of time for being repetitive. But am I imagining this site, or is it Trip Advisor? Any help would be appreciated.

  10. According to the Cruise Planner Shore Excursions section, this is the current sailing update:

    Day 1: Port Canaveral
    Day 2: Cruising
    Day 3: Cozumel, Mexico
    Day 4: Cruising
    Day 5: Falmouth, Jamaica
    Day 6: Labadee, Haiti
    Day 7: Cruising
    Day 8: Port Canaveral

However, they are needing time to update the excursions because if you try and click on the new destinations, it is still showing up with San Juan in the actual excursions as of 12:25pm.

  11. Cruising on Oasis November 19th and got the Sip, Tour and Save email. Went to go and look and not only had the Deluxe Drink & Voom Bundle gone UP from $62 to $68 as the "pre cruise deal", but now it's not even coming up.  Didn't know if the website issues were just me or if others were having issues too.

Basically you find a room configuration that you know of on the deck, and the configurations alternate.  So count every other room to figure out what your room configuration is.

    Hope that makes sense.

I saw a post that I think you had made about that. I also saw that if you are looking at adjoining rooms, the one to left will be near the closet and the one to the right will be near the balcony. The only thing is my room is adjoining to a grande suite. So would this still apply?

  13. So I have searched and searched and searched and can't find the layout for my room, 10652, on Oasis of the Seas. I know that I could google the ship name and room number, but I keep getting stock photos. I also know there are a few threads that explain how to determine if your bed is next to the balcony or next to the closet but I get a different answer for each one when I'm "counting" on my own. So any help would be greatly appreciated that lets me know whereabouts my bed will be.

You won't be able to get into your cabin until around 1:30 and you might get on the ship 11:30 or earlier.  You can explore and have lunch before you get into your cabin.

I carry a shoulder bag, I have no issue with it.  Others have small wheelies to crazy sized ones.  Smaller the better, is my advice.

You actually need a carry on if you plan to bring wine on with you.

OH! Ok. I didn't think it was that late. Or I just got on the boat later than 1:30 in the past and was able to drop my carry on and explore.

Agree with @BrianAlt I have a shoulder bag and a very small wheeled bag, but if you don't need it check everything and explore as already stated.

I'm actually borrowing a small wheeled suit case from my parents to take as my carry on. That way I can fit my wine, a change of clothes/bathing suit in case we decide to pool it up before our luggage gets there. Plus our dinner time is at 5:30 so it'll be nice to make sure I have my dinner clothes with me.

How about a list of things NOT to bring in a carry on:

    • your neighbor
    • a goldfish in a bowl
    • an uncooked ham
    • a sofa

    Anyone think of any others?

Way to burst my bubble!! I totally wanted to bring my pet turtles! And I guess I'll unpack my sofa too. Ugh! My trip is ruined now! ;)

Biggest tip I can give is not to bring a big carry on...imho, nothing worse than having to drag that around for hours. Its much easier to explore and see and enjoy the ship for those first few hours without having to lug around  or carry a big bag.

So will I not be able to drop my carry on in my cabin? I know my other items won't be there, but that way I can at least go and drop it and then just enjoy the ship.

There are many of us here that use these luggage tag holders for the suitcases that the porters deliver yo your cabin: Cruise Luggage Tag Holder Zip Seal & Steel - Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruise. They are available on Amazon, inexpensive and very durable. Jane's idea above about the smaller rolling suitcase for your carry ons is a good idea, I usually get stuck with the super heavy backpack. :27_sunglasses:

I’m pretty sure those are actually the tags I got! ?  We only have 2 rolling suitcases. I might check with the ‘rents to see if they by chance have a small one I can borrow. It’d definitely be easier! Thanks y’all!

  17. So I’m curious as to what I can “get away with” taking in my carry on. I’ve heard that depending on the security person, you can get away with 1 or 2 bottles of water and then of course the 2 bottles of wine. But what I was wondering was if I could get away with 5 hour energy shots. The reason I ask is because I’m a bit sensitive when it comes to coffee but 5 hours don’t bother me at all and I’m 29 going on what feels like 79 when it comes to the times I am normally asleep. So I figured 5 hour energy shots would be the way to go if I could get them on without being confiscated. Any help and any additional items that are “in-the-know” items that I can carry on would be greatly appreciated.

Each room usually has a separate booking number. What I'd recommend doing now is switch one of your grandparents with one of your parents. Then after a couple of days, put yourself in one of the cabins and your boyfriend in the other. That way, one person stays the same and you can do a room swap once onboard.

That what the travel agent is going to try. She said she was going to try changing my grandmother’s name to mine today (Monday) and try changing my grandfather’s to my boyfriend’s tomorrow. She said if that didn’t work then she was going to try what you suggested. Hooray for hoop jumping! ?

If you can keep at least 1 person on the original reservation, you can change names without an issue.

If you want to change all the names on a reservation, then you run into issues because the price is subject to change.  Same is true if you add more people than were originally on the reservation.

See that's where I'm getting confused. The reservation was made with 4 people (my mom, dad, grandfather, and grandmother) and 2 staterooms. So the new plan would be my mom, dad, boyfriend and myself. So still 4 people and 2 staterooms and still having my mom and dad on the whole reservation.

Is a single reservation considered a single stateroom (mom and dad = 1 reservation and grandparents = 1 reservation) even if it was booked together? Sorry about being confused and not possibly making sense, this will be my 4th cruise but my first time encountering this situation.

  20. Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. Here's the situation. My grandparents booked 2 separate state rooms for them and my parents to go on Oasis in November, however, my grandfather's health is declining and it is now up in the air if they are even going to be able to make the cruise. Both have said that if they don't go, they would try and transfer the reservation to my SO and myself. I've seen where the names can be changed up to 24 hours prior to sailing as long as one of the original names remains on the reservation. My question is if my parents are still going, even being in a separate state room with a separate booking number, does that still constitute as an "original name" remaining on the reservation if they were made at the same time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!
