  1. 5 years is a significant period of time. Anyway, I'm going to end this debate since it's off-topic for the OP's thread.
  2. You'll get a good itinerary out of Vision at least.
  3. I've got no opposition to doing Oasis after her revamp, but I am annoyed at the revamp being done after the Europe season. The youngest RCI ship in Europe this year is 10 years old which isn't new any more - why is it unreasonable to want 1 new ship in the region? In the States, you have Anthem, Ovation, Harmony and Symphony. Unfortunately, RCL's Europe selection is pitiful this year so back to the Caribbean. I don't like to fly so would have preferred to stay in Europe again if they'd had a better selection on offer.
  4. I get that, but who would book an unrefurbed 10 year old Oasis after having the brand new flagship on that itinerary the year before? I've done the Med cruise on Allure, Harmony and Symphony but didn't bother considering going back to Oasis this year for one second.
  5. What happened to the original Johnny Rockets on Navigator?
  6. AL is getting her drydock done in March/April next year so should be same for HM. Getting given Oasis in Europe and revamping her after the Europe season feels like a slap in the face after Harmony and Symphony in their inaugural years. Same when Freedom was there in 2017 instead of Oasis Class, what was that about? I digress...
  7. Crew from other ships visit all the time, so as said, the system is in place.
  8. No doubt that it will be added when HM goes to drydock in 2021.
  9. Just checked the port schedule for Harmony this summer, and we dock with Liberty in Cozumel. Been to Cozumel twice before on Oasis & Harmony and seen it already. Would actually prefer if Royal offered the excursion to visit Liberty for the day. They should allow this every time that their ships dock together, or alternatively make it a Diamond perk. Do you think that this would be a good idea? I know that crew sometimes visit other ships for the day.
  10. Park Cafe was great for breakfast on both Harmony and Symphony. I'm sure it is the same on the Allure so would highly recommend.
  11. Miami and FLL are more desirable for fly in cruisers but the demand is in PC. The proximity to Orlando is probably a selling point for PC.
  12. You do realise that they've been using it for 10 years and brought 3 new Oasis Class ships there? They've definitely got their money's worth out of that terminal.
  13. Oasis is going there for Winter 2020/21 and AL is back to Miami. Personally, I think that they are done with FLL and are switching to Miami now. They don't really need more than 2 Oasis Class ships in South Florida at the Summer anyway.
  14. O5 should be new enough. Could do her inaugural season there given that Harmony will likely end up in Europe for 2021.
  15. Ouch. That will be frustrating. I hope it's finished by July.
  16. Here is my suggestion for where they should go: Oasis - Bayonne/Miami Allure - Southampton/Fort Lauderdale Harmony - Asia/Australia Symphony - Barcelona/Galveston O5 - Port Canaveral O6 - Miami
  17. Regarding demographics, we are on for the first 2 weeks of July. Expecting lots of families - no problem. Sailing from Europe last year was great as there was an even mix of nationalities (and even some fellow Scots). I worry that Port Canaveral based ships are mostly American and we'll feel out of place. If you've done FR or OA from PC, was it all Americans or a mix of nationalities?
  18. I did HM from FLL 2 years ago and will be back in June to sail out of PC. This isn't a major issue, but what are the differences between sailing from Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral? Will the atmosphere feel different? Also, how are the demographics from PC? FLL was relatively varied. Also, while we are talking about Canaveral, which airport is best for there and how can we get from the airport to the area?
  19. How do you know that he lied about being a veteran? Was he meaning military or a Royal Caribbean veteran? He is definitely the latter.
  20. There was a rumour that O5 is destined for a "particular market". That probably means Asia, although the developments in Australia might mean it takes on OV's old role of spending one half of the year in Asia then the other half in Australia.
  21. He's very high energy. As for Michele, I think this is when he was scheduled to go on vacation in the first place. He probably has to take some time off before joining a ship in Europe this summer (likely Oasis). Given the number of changes, I guess we'll only know who is the CD when you are onboard. It's ironic that I already know the CD for July (finally getting to sail with Marc ) but March still looks uncertain.
  22. Jewel: Best - Beautiful ship and crew were amazing. Worst - It was a decade ago and my first cruise so can't really remember anything bad. Independence: Best - Great size of ship, plenty to offer. The one that got me into cruising. Worst - The only ship I've got seasick on. Enchantment: Best - Only ship to be lengthened with the cool bridges? I'm not really sure of what positives to pick out for EN to be honest. Worst - Too small, felt like an outsider being Scottish on a ship full of Americans (don't take that offensively) and didn't get a warm vibe from crew. Explorer: Best - A ship with a casual, laid back vibe and had a good time. Nothing stands out too much 7 years on but it had a good atmosphere. Worst - Can't think of anything negative to be honest. Serenade: Best - Very pretty ship, and I like the vibe on Radiance Class. Worst - Pool deck was awful and the ship was too boring. Oasis: Best - The overall WOW Factor on her. First time seeing all of the proper innovations, was blown away. Worst - Nothing bad that I can remember, except for debarkation as 1 week was not enough for OA. Allure: Best - Captain Johnny and best Windjammer food. Worst - Not enough at sea days on the Med route. Anthem: Best - NorthStar, Two70. Worst - Windjammer food was worst of all cruises, unhappy crew, rude guests and Royal Esplanade crowding. Harmony: Best - Strong crew, OA and AL on steroids. Loved additions of slides. Worst - Cruise Director was weakest of all sailings. Symphony: Best - El Loco Fresh, Playmakers and other minor things around the ship. Worst - Lack of noon announcements (really the only negative I can think of).
