Any pre cruise plans?
I think a pre-cruise dinner is in order somewhere
-
I love Chinese & Indian food mmmmmmmmmmm
Yes! The Indian food on RC is really quite good. Wish they had better Indian bread selection but it's really quite good and underrated overall. I have at least one Indian dish per night
-
Do you know if the Medic on RCI works the same way as Disney? Meaning, you are not covered and it will cost you as much as the cruise is you have to visit them? ....lol (luckily, when I got so sick, they didn't charge me. But I think I got more sick thinking about the charge)!!!
Yes, the doctor costs money and is usually NOT covered by insurance. But yes, it's always a good fall back. My family has used the doctor a couple of times for minor things and other than the extra cost, no problem.

Pretty sure the package is ONLY on cruises 4 days or longer.
I have read that it's now 3-night cruises too but haven't been able to confirm it
-
Thanks! Heh... maybe I should try searching before posting....
No worries, we're all happy to help here!

I see Carnival is jumping at China/Asia as well. If this doesn't go well, it will be like Europe 2 years ago and everyone will be heading back to the US soon.
Pretty much. I think this is an even bigger gamble considering Asia's cruise market (namely China) is behind Europe in terms of infrastructure and cruise market

Our kids will be 17 and 15 when we cruise next year. I'm thinking one of the non-alcoholic drink packages may be in order - but I really have no idea what the packages cost or what sodas cost purchased a la carte.
More info on the drink packages: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/royal-caribbean-beverage-packages

Hey I wasn't pre selected for dining reservations but I was able to get into the dining reservations system today and made reservations for my Quantum trip in Feb. Book away!
Same here!

According to Wells Fargo analyst Tim Conder, the Oasis order fits into the context of Royal Caribbean's stated long-term 4% annual growth goal and 'further strengthens RCL's innovative leadership positioning in the industry.'
Conder thinks that over the next 12 to 18 months, the company could announce the deployment of an Oasis-class ship to Asia, at least for part of the year.
A lot is riding on how Quantum does in Asia. RC is betting the Chinese cruise market will be quick to adopt. We shall see if that is really the case when Quantum arrives.

Tough choice, especially with Adventure's refurb changing things up. Seeing what it did for Navigator, I'd have to think about it. Hard to go wrong in either direction.
-
Food is such a subjective topic because what I find great tasting, you might find awful and vice versa. But I'm glad to hear you think things have gotten better! Great comments

Matt, does the Bonine make you sleepy? I have the Sea Bandz (sp) because I rather not take "medicine" and I don't want to feel sleepy either. But last time I really have to use the Bandz ...well actually I was on a few meds since I got really sick and was taking to the Medic. "Not fun"!!... This time around, I am bringing everythignI can think off.
Yes, it will make you drowsy after a few hours. Not fall down in the middle of the hallway sleepy, but "I really need a nap" drowsy. But I'd rather be sleepy than nauseous

Just booked another B2B.. Explorer OTS Repositioning Cruise Singapore to Perth, then Perth to Sydney via NZ South Island (26 Nights in total)... Bring on 2015 :)
Wow great choice for a B2B!

I take full credit for this. After noticing the balance of my SeaPass card after my April Oasis cruise, Chairman Fain had full confidence he could afford another of the big ships.
 I've certainly done my part to finance their new ships!

Got my upgrade and didn't loose my original promo!! I am happy now since I will have a balcony! I also got my Ginger Root pills, so I am ready.
I cannot wait for this sail...thanks everyone!!
That is wonderful, glad to hear it worked out!
Let me know how the ginger works. I've heard about it but always relied on bonine for if I need something.

If you're a frequent Royal Caribbean cruiser, then there is no doubt that a dish you loved is probably no longer on the menu. For me, it was the Blue Cheese Tortellini. Served in the MDR, I had this on Liberty in 2008 and Freedom in 2010. Rich and full of flavor, cheese tortellini topped with a cream sauce and crumbled, melted blue cheese.
Blue Cheese Tortellini MDR
Oh man that looks perfect!

Great to hear them announce this. Don't forget, Oasis 5 is still possible!

I pulled the trigger ... One ocean view cabin in April, for four people, on Jewel was $X. With this sale, two connecting ocean view cabins (two in each room) were just $30 more! That was a no-brainer - booked!!!!! Thanks for your help Michelle!!!
Nicely done!
-
That is a good deal for a rare California cruise!
-
The drink package is something that in my opinion requires a lot of drinking to really break even. If the prospect of drinking 6-8 drinks per day sounds okay to you, then do it. Otherwise, you are probably better off saving your money and buying your drinks a la carte.
Don't forget port days, where when you are off the ship most of the day you lose time to drink back onboard.
-
So how does an upgrade works? ....it doesn't make sence. If you booked with a promotion (kids sail free) you can't upgrade unless you opt out of the promo??
I'd have to refer to the terms of the deal to know with absolute certainty. Remember, if you're before final payment, you can always cancel and then immediately re-book too. Granted, doing so would forfeit your original booking incentives but if the deal is better now, that may be worth it.
Oh oh.... Will RCI televise the World Cup???

Great news indeed. They usually do a good job of showing major sporting events onboard.
