  1. Yes, you can order multiple entrees, appetizers and desserts at Chops
  2. Also, this blog post may be helpful: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2014/01/02/everything-about-royal-caribbeans-junior-suites
  3. Junior suites do not get any of the perks that other suites get. Essentially, a JS is a bigger balcony stateroom. It's not until you get to the Grand Suite or higher that you get suite perks and such.
  4. Likely you read my blog post that spoke of that. The good news is there is plenty of mai-tais and steel drum music to be found but you will notice a distinct country/Western motif onboard. Don't take this to believe you are going on a cruise where it's nothing but line dancing, banjos and people saying "yee-haw". We also cruised during February, which is certainly off-season and an older clientele that cruised. And I'd sign back up in a heartbeat because like you, I liked the route for the different ports.
  5. It's not a cheap drink to make at home. My wife reminds me of that everytime I want to buy the stuff to make some.
  6. Royal Caribbean posted a thing about its Dreamworks Summer Adventure, which sounds like they are doing something new and different: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Dreamworks/15044680_DreamWorks_Experience_Flyer.pdf The thing is, I can't figure what, if anything, is actually different than what has traditionally been offered onboard. Does anyone see something that I am not?
  7. On Royal Caribbean, the kids club is called Adventure Ocean and it's a wonderful program. I've gotten a phone some times and other times not. But you can always call and inquire how your child is doing from any of the phones. Thankfully I've never encountered a problem where my daughter wanted to leave (just the opposite, in fact).
  8. First, I apologize for the increased spam lately. I have some safeguards but this spam appears to be human generated (instead of a script somewhere) and there's not much we can to prevent it. The report feature does help. It certainly gets me a heads up when it appears.
  9. Here are some recent wifi package prices: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/06/16/royal-caribbean-wifi-internet-what-you-need-know
  10. Occasionally they will be available for rent online via the Cruise Planner but most times it's suites only.
  11. The cabanas are available to suite guests. If you aren't a suite guest, you will need to go to the shore excursions desk as early as possible on your first day and put your name on the wait list.
  12. Is it practical to drive across the border and take a flight from the US?
  13. Wow, that is a lot. I paid $75 pp back in 2011. I'm not sure I could justify that price. Then again, it was the best all-inclusive resort I've been to.
  14. Yes, it's an excursion you have to sign up for and it costs money ($95 per person). You can book the excursion in advance online or onboard your ship.
  15. I'm curious what would a scan of your passport do for you exactly? Not trying to disparage your strategy, just curious what your thought process is on it :)
  16. We've used the stateroom voicemail feature a lot to share messages with friends and family onboard
  17. You can do either. When you book a Nextcruise, if you booked the cruise you are currently on with a TA, your Nextcruise certificate will be assigned back to them (unless you tell them otherwise). It would be better to book both cruises now because if you waited for your first cruise to get the Nextcruise for your second (and had already booked your Jan 2017 cruise), to apply Nextcruise for Jan 2017, I THINK you will have to make a new reservation, which would make you subject to whatever the prevailing prices were at that time. Hope that made sense.
  18. I think for ladies, yes that is fine and frankly, fairly common.
  19. You may find this link helpful: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/category/category/unlimited-alcohol-packages
  20. Welcome Jerel and Jessica!
  21. Matt

    Alaska

June, July, and August are peak, meaning more expensive and more families with kids. May and Sept. are colder but less expensive and mostly adults.
  22. If it isn't, then it ought to be!
  23. It's true. You can order a steak or lobster tail in the main dining room for an additional charge any night, but there are evenings when those items are on the included menu. It's essentially for people that want steak or lobster every/any night
  24. I think it's great you want to give an agency a try. While I don't have anyone that can do business in Australia a try (Royal Caribbean prohibits American TAs from working with Australians), I would recommend doing an internet search for a few companies and send them each a list of questions. These should be questions about your expectations as your TA and even about RC. You might even ask questions you know the answers to just to see what they write back with. The point of this email is to see how quickly and knowledgeably they respond.
  25. If there's an obstructed view, it means something will be partially or close to completely blocking the view. The advantage of these rooms is they are usually less expensive. So if you absolutely want a view, then change. But if you are okay with rolling the dice on not having a total view, then enjoy the savings!
