I gotta say that the old minutes plan were terrible from a guest satisfaction perspective. On slow internet (non-Voom), you can easily burn through many minutes without actually accomplishing anything. It lead to a lot of frustrated guests and longer lines at Guest Services. By making it 24 hours or unlimited, RC solved an issue where guests were upset that they wasted 5, 10, 20 minutes that they paid for.

Agreed, texting is fairly inexpensive in short amounts, especially compared to buying a WiFi package.

Thanks for the update. Can you share a photo of the construction you are referring to?

My suggestion is keep your plans simple and "lightweight". Don't plan your days more than maybe having a meal together or doing an excursion together. That way, you keep it simple and if you guys want to all hang out more than what you did, you can and if not, you have an easy out after each activity.

Loved the observations. Great post! I think I agreed with everything you said in your post. I certainly have experienced a lot of what you wrote about and it all sounds like things I would expect. I agree the Windjammer food is best at dinner, followed by lunch and last breakfast (try the omelette station for some good eggs). Also noticed that Ft Lauderdale hotels are quite expensive. For February, we may end up staying somewhere out of town... a 30 min drive does not bother me, especially if I can save $1-200. Once Upon A Time show is really good. I saw it on Freedom and really enjoyed it and I agree, it is because of the song selection.

I love Chops because I think it's consistently good and certainly the best steak available onboard. I think the dry-aged steak option is best for real steak aficionados, so I'm not certain it is a must-do item. All that being said, I really love Chops and highly recommend it.

Room service is complimentary and they have some good options on there (honey stung chicken!).

I'd expect no dining to be available, so the fact there is one is just one bonus one to consider now.
